No Offense, but you must not know very many Marines because that is a ridiculous thing to say. Some of the best men and women this country have to offer belong to the Corps. I think you are just picking a fight here. What basis do you have for your comparison?

Snipers are a vital tool for various purposes including special missions and protecting fellow servicemen, but I don't agree with the concept. But most of you will call me a peace loving hippie for not being down with the war mongering.

Read up on how snipers got their big start in Vietnam. There's a lot more courage in being a sniper than you realize. Not trying to criticize you or anything, but I've known a lot of scout snipers. And I've read a lot about them.

As far as the whole SS thing, I understand the problem, but what I don't understand is why people can't step back and see it for what it is in its current use and not see it for what it was when used by the Nazis. Think of it like they're taking it back and making the SS symbol mean something better.

Exactly. I'll tell you, I've lurked here occasionally for years before I finally decided to make an account, and what I've seen ATS turn into is just disgraceful to what this place is supposed to represent. Even up until last year this place was pretty good, but now, there's nothing but hate from ignorance.

All good. Hard to tell as I don't really have anything that would show I was a Marine. Though, we have had interaction in the past. But so many faces, right? Haha.
