He has balls of steel and need some room down there. If your pants are a little loose, you can't have tight fitting jacket, know what I mean?

Yes.

LOL..yes...talk show hosts have fun with that one.

But it's true...his suits never fit him right.

He looked better in his SC speech with a sweater on...he should go with that at debates.

Did you like RP's answer allowing states and local communities to allow local people to vote in their own language, and that it's not the federal govt's job to dictate from above?

Not really...because it also allows states to outlaw people speaking any other language than English.

I don't support an "official" National language that would prohibit people from speaking or getting government documents in different languages...and I don't support any single state being able to pass a law to do that either.

It would also outlaw Native American languages. I can see this being met with a lot of anger on a lot of reservations.

I think it is very important to have a national language - English- but that localities should have the flexibility to deal with their needs. IE if you have a district with 25% non English speakers - give them directions to the libraries ESL program in Spanish.

No seriously, hospitals and schools and such need to be able to be flexible according to the needs of their populations, so that answer was fine with me.

well this is another debate, once again, where I get to watch a bunch of idiots, run their gators and once again, I do not get to hear the only guy that has a brain, tell me what he thinks..

Once again Ron Paul, somehow gets screwed by a bunch of idiots lying threw their teeth, and beg for votes from other idiots..

Reservations are technically sovereign states, surrounded by US territory.

C'mon man! RP left it open for people to conduct business, etc in their own language and you still naysay!

What would be the alternative?

For every so called "positive" that could result in "State's rights"...there is an equal and more damaging "negative".

Yeah great...Florida could allow ballots in Spanish.

But another state may make it illegal for anyone to ever speak another language besides English out in public.

I want to live in the United States, were we are all United under common law.

And the alternative is to just never to have an "official" national language. If you didn't notice...Ron Paul supports that.

That's not likely to happen. The 1st amendment freedom of speech clause would prevent any state from completely denying the use of any language. Just because the government documents are left up to the state to determine in which language they are printed, doesn't give the states an avenue to circumvent the US constitution.

No! The first amendment protects that right. States do not have that option to dictate what people say in public. Thats a different issue then ballots, etc.

Why not?

The people who put a man on the moon ruled for the next 50 years how long will those rule when they put a man on mars.
