But , that aside, I personally dont think thats whats coming at all. Another World War seems the most likely thing to happen, especially considering the financial crisis is only going to worsen over the next few years.

Look at the situation with Iran and Syria. Strict sanctions on Oil Sales, killing nuclear scientists, bombing of Syrian Oil Pipelines.

Venezuela bringing home all their gold reserves. Turkey now in a huge row with France. China showing off Aircraft Carrier.

Within 5-10 years the World will be even more of a mess....

There are a lot of good posts in here. OP is spot on in my view. I've been a little skeptical about the whole 2012 thing for a while, but now I think I'm starting to wake up to it. The fact that the government is building underground bunkers should be all we need to know to connect the dots. Something is going on. As far as the 'distraction' thing, it makes a lot of sense that if the elite know something is up, they would try to keep the masses ignorant. If the leaders of the world came out and said the world will be ending in a year or so, complete anarchy would ensue. Nobody would go to work anymore. Some people would go bat$hit crazy. Life would cease to funtion if we all knew the world would soon be ending.

This is my resolution. I will get in prime physical shape, because if I'm gonna be running from comets falling from the sky, I want to have some stamina. I will start looking into survival gear. Nothing too extravagant, but the little things that could be carried on my person if it comes down to it. And most importantly I'll be prepared mentally/spiritually. I don't believe in the God of mainstream religion, but I do believe in something of a Karma, and that there is another life after this one. All we can do is love each other, and do what we can to help others out. I have a lot of faith in humanity that if the proverbial 'fecal matter' hits the proverbial 'fan', we would be there for each other. This would hold true regardless of our petty differences we bicker about on Internet forums and Youtube videos. If stuff goes down, we must hold on to our humanity.

Also as a strong believer in alien life, I have to wonder what their role would be in all this. I do feel they are out there, watching us. But what their response would be in such a scenario, is a complete mystery to me. They could be the engineers of whatever may transpire. They might have absolutely no vested interest in what happens. They might sympathize with us humans and take us away on their starships. Who knows? Personally I'd prefer them to be the sympathetic kind, but alas.........

Ehhh.....I have two issues with this assumption. One is that when you take the reported zillions of miles of tunnels, the length of time they've been supposedly digging on them, and the number of the reported primary installations, and think about adding them all together....you get volume estimates that make absolutely no sense if no-one but the "1% 'haves and have mores'" are going to occupy them.

Two is that everyone seems extremely content with the idea of the hated 1% "elites" constructing exclusive shelters for themselves only, "off the backs of the common man," based on foreknowledge of some impending cataclysm. It does start to get annoying when the "internal logic" of the belief stops making sense though...and to me it seems it stops making sense as soon you go from all the ruling and using and stealing and living high off the work of the little guy stuff, to "and then they're going to walk down into their bunkers built by us and slam the doors and leave us all to die." That might be an emotionally satisfying, hatred justifying ending, but if all of that is true and these elites have been using and enslaving us for their pleasure for centuries, then they are not going to leave everyone up here to die! They are gonna be needing foot massages and chefs and gofers and yes-men and floor scrubbers while they're down there, and then of course they will need all hands on deck once humans can survive up there again, gotta rebuild all that stuff that blew up!

Have you considered they keep us in a state of imminent fear as to fool us into believing the end is nigh?
By doing this most will be comforted into believing the corrupt will suffer the same fate soon enough.
In short, if I sit on my hands and wait, the (insert cataclysm) will surely make the evildoers pay also.
This would buy the PTB one more day of freedom to take ours away.
Aliens nor jesus are coming to save us, we need to dig ourselves out.

For instance, just like Germany pre ww2, keep a proud strong country in a state of war until the world gets fed up and fights back and effectively destroys it and its laws.

The big picture, is in reality a lot simpler than what you'd expect.

NEW WORLD ORDER

This is the big picture. And it means, that the world population must be unified into a single government, or under a single control.

However, you have religions where the Jews are still waiting for their Messiah, and the Christians are waiting for the return of Jesus.

Communism, where religion is in reality abandoned, failed. People will keep to their religion non-the less.

So, the big picture is the folowing. To unify the world, Christianity must have their return of Jesus, and the Jews must have their messiah. So, we are seeing "signs" all over the world ... that lead us to believe that end times are coming, while in the hearts of the religious community. There are preparations for "continued" world, just take a look at the Jehovas witnesses, as an example.

i. The war in the middle east, is therefore necessary.

ii. The establishment of Jerusalem, as the major power is necessary.

iii. The jews have their messiah, a victorious battle monger who conqueres the middle east.

The returning of Jesus is much more difficult to accomplish, but the above items we can already see happening. It's not just something that has started to happen yesterday. It's been a conscious or subconscious conspiracy among the rulers of the world, for centuries.

The final product is the following.

Enslave the population, so that the ruling class will enjoy their priveleges without disturbance or the ability of the populace to challenge their rule.

Don't forget about the strange noises that people have been recording outdoors. The only odd occurences about this year are:

1) It's a Leap Year
2) There is a Blue Moon month this year

The 2012 apocalypse thing will come and go just like the Y2K Bug did in 2000.

Well this is the way I see it, and I see it as nothing out of the ordinary at all.

1) Economies in the west need severe boosting, to try and create jobs in manufacturing and other sectors which will greatly increase profit. (presuming the goods manufactured will sell of course) and why would countries be too bothered about collecting the debt straight when they can take shares in currency easily because it's weaker and make profit from them when the downturn is over and still own the debt

2) I can't say I have followed the U.S presedential elections too but my understanding is they're almost always a joke, no matter who is standing and no matter which country.

3) This 'gut feeling' is because of myths like the end of the mayan calender holding any actual importance. If i were making a calender, would I just keep going forever or at some point just think that'll do for now.

4) Can't say i've even heard of this but i'm sure there's a legitimate explanation... storage perhaps

5) Is there any links or evidence behind this? and again could be storage

6) Because that's what the mass public is thinking about right now... they wan't bums on seats and more tickets sold. Lynx in the UK has brought out a 2012 deodorant, could be because the Lynx bosses are in on a secret, could be they just want you to smell fresh for when you meet your maker or it could just be because they know it will interest people and get people talking about the brand

7) I wouldn't say the whole world is on the verge, Germany is pulling EU through some tough times with it's sucessful manufacturing and China is probably profiting the most, again because of manufacturing.

8) For our economy to work, goods with short life cycles need to be sold.. these include
A) Cell phones
B) Automobile sales
C) Video Games and Systems
D) Fast Food

Fair call, it is part of the T&C to elaborate more than just a simple statement.

In the bigger picture it is not if we are going to die, but how and when. This is part of the conditions for life.

PROT3CTOR has identified some threats to global security.

1) There are things much more darker than the debt of the US government in terms of the global economy. The petro dollar is under a lot of stress and increasing tensions in Iran.

2) Yep, there is a lot of trouble in the election process.

3) Conspiracy topics are fearful stuff, get to understand it because the consequences do hit hard.

4&5) Bunkers are a standard part of government, with today's weapons they need to be deep as the nature of warfare has evolved.

6) Science fiction does help explore many potential threats, risks and situations.

7) The system is propped up by the fear and result of complete failure. How long would a city last if trade was to fall apart? There are a lot of problems with a lot of people working on it, I would rate it a medium risk for some localised collapses, low risk for global collapse.

8) Technology can work for us or against us. The only way to take it out of the equation now is to send everything back to the stone age, there is a low risk of this.

Overall it is a good overview of some of the common topics and provides enough of a warning to at least think about what to do in the event of an emergency. There are a lot of threats in life with the home being one of the most common places for injury to occur. Keep your head up as trouble can come in any direction.

As for the big picture, it is a big, tough, complex one involving society, history and nature. Facts to help define the specific problems and ideas to resolve them is what I am really interested in.

Yes "They" will allow a few of their goons to live and serve them.

But most of us will be left on top side to fend for ourselves.

Start researching books on underground dumps and military installations.

Look into Bill and Melinda Gate's underground "seed vault" something like 30,000 ft of space or more.

Whole cities being built deep underground as we speak.
