Anyone else spending Christmas alone?

Im spending Christmas alone this year and this is hard..Ive been singing Christmas songs to my dogs and of course they look at me like im nuts..Plus sitting here on ATS reading the forums..This is a very lonley Christmas! But i want to wish everyone on ATS a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Peace,sugarcookie1

I know it could be very hard for some to spend Christmas alone but i would try my best not to look at the bad side of it. You have to keep positive and remind yourself that this is just a mental test and next year will not be the same. Stay positive and have faith in knowing that there are people out there that you can reach out to. (I'm speaking from experience).

I used to always spend it alone. To me, X-mas is just another day.

But, now, I have to accommodate for my niece.

Cheer up. Look at this way, least you got to save money.

Now, I did take the dog to pet smart to go on a x-mas shopping spree.

Try your best and keep your chin up - it really will be different next year! Sleep Good and have pleasant dreams and remember - it's only ONE day and ONE meal - you'll be fine.

I'm trying to treat it like another day but its kinda hard..But i got my dogs to keep me company so that helps Merry Christmas..peace,sugarcookie1

My wife and I are in a new town and don't know anyone. We are far from family, friends and others.

But...we have each other and are ok with that.

We are starting a new business and are working hard. We are alone but have each other.

That's good enough for us.

Look at this way, just wait until Valentine's Day.

Now, that day can be rough.

Where you have to watch all these people, all so happy with life and in love.

Sickening, especially when you're miserable and alone.

Least I know my dog and dad loves me. That's all that matters.

I am all alone in a very nice hotel room in a very large city.

Enjoying the view from out my window, catching up on reading after a nice traditional Christmas dinner...alone. In the spirit of the season I'm reading The Ladder of Divine Ascent by John Climacus, written around AD 600. Life is good, I'm enjoying myself but its lonely on Christmas day this way...twas ever thus....this isn't the first Christmas I've spent this way and it most likely won't be the last. When I was younger and alone on the holidays in a big city I'd head to the sleaziest dirtiest run-down dive bar I could find and spend the time alone in a corner but I'm too old for that nonsense now.

Merry Christmas - today is the day - drinking coffee - posting - i haven't done christmas (insofar as purchasing presents - no money) since 2003 -

i do know being alone tugs at the heart strings but.....................i'm here -

Me too! Every Christmas for the past 8 years! (By choice)

You get used to it after a while...

I sing to my dog all the time, and she doesn't mind a bit.
