I think too many people, even people on ATS, have bought the lie hook, line, and sinker. This is the problem, that's the problem. Yadda yadda yadda. We have many problems, if we can't agree on that, then we can't agree on anything.

"I understand that it's felt like every man for himself. If we're going to get out of this......a little #ing solidarity......goes a long way. We all want to survive, right?"

Funny how a single Hollywood quote can seem so real and so fitting.

Post like yours lift my spirits up. Some "get it".

Most, far too many are either apathetic, scared or asleep in the Matrix.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Yes I keep repeating over and over and over and over in many of my replies that mantra - for we are all interconnected and singly we are near powerless - united together we are all powerful.

But, "they" (whoever TF they are know this so they keep us separated and promoting our differences, plying us with fear and hate).

Your post was most elegant.

And yes, personally I suspect the snowball has hit past the midway point and this time around not enough of us woke up, united and rebelled fast enough.

At this point without outside intervention we may be looking at total enslavement for our children and our children's children that are allowed to survive.

I could be and hope I am wrong...............maybe it's never to late. Maybe your post will wake up and seed a few more.

One problem I see is so many people think only of themselves - thinking in terms of me when they should be thinking in terms of we.

Again, we are all interconnected, all a part of the grand whole.

What affects your neighbor, the guy you stand in back of at the grocery line, the person who brought you your mail, even the people in distant lands, affects you as well..............most of us just can't seem to grasp this concept.

Starred and flagged.

Sorry, I respectfully disagree. Change comes in many forms , in many ways at differing rates. The OWS movement has elevated the awareness of people. The movement dissolves itself when violence gets thrown into the mix to replace reasonableness.I am not free to stand day after day, night after night in my local park near downtown, however, I am free to act (and to react) in a manner I feel will benefit not just myself, but others, too.

Someone flips me off on the road, let's say. In the world of today that could start a fight or it could influence a bystander to react the same way to another completely different situation. In the world I want to live in, I make no physical acknowledgement of the gesture. Mentally I pray for patience for myself and for the offending person. This way no one gets hurt, no one gets negatively influenced by me and maybe the offender gets just enough less satisfaction out his behavior that at his next opportunity, MAYBE he does not flip someone else off.

Look, I am no saint, I'll be the very first to admit it, but I am plenty intelligent enough to understand the impact my personal choice- as relates to my own behaviors- may have on others. I know it takes more energy to be nasty that it takes to be nice. I can picture in my own head the world as I would like it to be. My actions, just like those of many in the OWS movement, will positively influence people. I feel physically better when I behave better.

You (we) have not failed. Almost every waking hour presents another opportunity to influence positive change in the world close to you. It went on before OWS and it will continue after OWS. Once the concept has returned to its critical mass, we as a civilization will pass the tipping point and thanks to our rapid-communication technology tables (big ones) will turn... as we have seen recently.

I understand your disappointment, but look with bigger eyes, feel with a bigger heart, act with a kinder soul....the answer is blowin' in the wind.

Yeah...A movement with no clear message sitting around in some park, chanting by day and smoking weed and having sex in tents by night for two straight months without a single accomplishment was indeed our last hope.

We have only ourselves to blame for going to our work/schools while the brave men and women of OWS are fighting tirelessly for our freedom.

The OWS movement looks more like a bowel movement.

Where is George Soros?

His troops have lost their mojo.

I really hope Occupy does fail, however there are incredibly powerful NWO (Soros and Co) forces behind it, so I expect it won't fail

Its a protest to end surpressed energy
Its a protest to end human suffering
Its a protest to end excessive taxation
Its a protest to end political corruption
Its a protest to end world starvation
Its a protest to end leeching of our rights and freedoms
Its a protest to end hate
Its a protest to end the few from taking advantage of the many period.

Those that can not get it, will not get it.

I've seen plenty of signs advocating Communism, I've seen many protest signs advocating the end of Capitalism, I've seen many signs advocating violence.

I have yet to see any mention what you've written...

There is or was never any chance of saving our country or at least this became true more with every day that passed after 9-11 without the true culprits being brought to justice. However, some would say the demise of America began with the assassination of JFK and Americans beginning to live with more lies and more evil every day. The list is really very long and could well have begun with the first betrayal of the native Americans but for a few hundred years Americans did many good things to out weigh the bad so, we grew and prospered.

I don't really expect anyone to be reading this or for it to matter but I am at least putting to words what I have known for a long time; that the indulgence of wrongs, of evil and corruption will, if not over shadowed with right, with good and positives, will inevitably bring destruction. This is true in relationships, in companies and it is true with this country. I personally fought lies, wrongs and evil at every turn but I was always out numbered and here again the list is very very long and thus I have said for many years now that the Karma would be sever, Major Karma in effect. I won't even begin to provide a list because it would offend and be in effect talking about many of you, the Godless, Immoral, the petty liars, cheats, thieves, whore-mongers and perverted...you know. Now, the sickness, the lies you have all embraced and allowed are welling up and you don't even realize that you personally are responsible for your own destruction; let "God's Will Be Done".

But OWS gets poo-poo'd and it's time to throw in the towel? If that's the case, then maybe myself and others who didn't throw in with this movement were right.

What are you waiting for with this movement? What do you expect to be new and different after the 2 month mark? They are doing the same thing they did in the 1st week and getting the same results.

It's not about one extreme or the other, throwing in the towel and quitting is a bad idea with a large group like this "ready to go"... key word, "go"... go to Dick Cheney's house, G. Dubya's, the CEOs responsible in their respected corporations that helped this recession/depression come into being.

Sitting around parks gets a big
from me.

Going after the criminals, arresting them, having trials for them...
, I'm all on board for that, sign me up.

I'm with YOU, Jibby!

I understand and support what the OWS stands for, but what are they expecting to happen? What do they anticipate happening that is going to be their sign of victory so they can go home?

Yes we went to OWS two weekends in a row and it's damn cold where I am now.........I hate camping, being cold and am very intimidated even by the polite (but edgy) police.

I note that there were people making sure to film all the faces of the protestors (face recognition software is now possible).

Yes I wrote my State Reps and e-mail Obama (for whatever good that will do as if he actually reads them) every week.

Yes even though I am now on a limited income have sent money to certain movements, certain people I feel are fighting the good fight.

I also try to do one random act of kindness...............no payback per day.

And yes, back decades ago after seeing a picture of a little child running naked and on fire down a dirt road (the famous crying child picture) yes I demonstrated against the Vietnam War facing a bunch of police that weren't so polite............they had their clubs out and in a battle formation line, with expressions exactly like the Nazi soldiers during WWII.

And yes, I read and researched to the point of being obsessive and tried to warn people all the time being ridiculed (even here on ATS).

So, when I take my final breath on this once beautiful planet, I can say I at least tried to make a difference for all of us.

I still believe that if enough people, say tens of millions of Americans took just one day off work and joined OWS it would send a message to Washington that we're getting really tired of the BS.

Our elections are coming up..............whoop e do.

We are basically a corrupt two party system and (in my opinion) both parties are puppets for the exact same puppet master.

As well as "It's not who votes that counts, but who counts the votes"..........Stalin.

I spent 48 hours at OWS and never saw something like the picture you show.

You're trying to again cause people to shut down and shut out.

Yes there may be a few idiots, there always are.

But, everyone and I met and talked with a lot of people, were polite, inspiring, mature and decent.

Yes, keep showing these kinds of pictures, you're doing your job well.

Question is, who do you really work for?

One additional question, did you go or just post a picture you found on the net?

Alone, you or me will fail.

You, or me, alone, are far too insignificant in this world to make a change, if even any, in the grinding juggarnaut of daily living. Compound with you or my ego, sense of self importance, hidden inferiority complex and thus need to project a superior face in public, you or me will utterly fail.

You, or me, suffer similarly much from the depredations of the 1%. You AND me have a common bond. WE are the 99%. And together, You and I am not going to allow the status quo remain.

You and me may have different ideas, but our aims in life are the same - equality, justice peace, progress, shared prosperity and freedom.

So do realize you are not alone, and thus not a failure. Reach out beyond ATS, to your family, relatives and friends, discuss and debate with them, find the common grounds, and then make your stand, just as I had done. Together, we will change the world for better, with a new dawn arising and now with its first light being casted around the world....It begins with you and me...

Perhaps you can all spam the main OWS facebook site and educate them on who the real enemy is and provide them with more information if you can't go out to your local movement and do it. You have the ability to turn this movement towards the real enemy(Federal Reserve).
www.facebook.com... There are other Occupy sites as well you can spam with "End The Fed" comments or even throw in a bit of educational info for them so they know who and what.post at least once a day and very slowly you can turn the tide.

I believe 911 was a false flag operation to manipulate the people into Bush's war.

Those that signed off on it, arranged it and carried it out were never brought to justice.

No real investigations were held.

I've researched on this probably close to 100 hours, numerous books, articles and looking at film footage - The Bush Administration should have been brought up on war crimes..............for breaking the Geneva Convention alone the USA signed on April 18, 1988 against torture.

Now we are a country, the only one thus far to have used a weapon of mass destruction twice (WWII/Japan) as well as total disregard and going back on our word (signed agreement) against torture.

Speaks volumes for America.

You're either a man/woman that keeps their word or you're not.

Obama didn't have the $alls to put the Bush Administration under a real investigation and trial...........and the rest of the planet knows this.

Some are simply above the law and not accountable for their actions.

In my book this is injustice.

Get caught with a small amount of a illegal substance and you could spend time in jail.

Plan, pay for and have a false flag operation resulting in the mass killing of millions and you get to retire with full benefits on a 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay.

Somethings not right here.

Hi all,
Been a reader for some time and decided to throw my 2 cents into the mix.

If there is one good thing I see from this, it appears some of the Memphis OWS supporters were invited by the tea party there to meet for discussion of issues. I hope many more do the same.
Many americans are ticked off over the same issues, with the corrupt politicians and media just baiting the citizens through the usual political left/right paridigm.

I believe many of the people involved with OWS are waking up from their xboxes, and everything is ok attitudes and feeling the frustration of the massive theft of well over 10 trillion dollars of our money by the corrupt bankers. Many have lost their jobs and assets and feel the need to get involved.

Some of the issues I see with the OWS movement is, they are attacking the symptoms. The corrupt bankers never would have had the opportunity to do what they did if the politicians did not create the legislation to empower such behaviour or removed the protections (glass steagal) that were in place forbidding such behaviour.

They should be occupying washington and the fed. The fed created this mess and seems to be held outside culpibility. The bankers through the fed own washington. As many know this is the reason they never were prosecuted and instead were rewarded through bailouts and bonuses.

If the people within the OWS decided to do some real unbiased research about issues such as the fed, you will be able to move toward true understanding of the issues, not spoon fed media bites, which are utter bs.

America is said to be just right of center within a political context. What we have today is a monumental struggle between the most extreme parts of each party. The neo cons have us off balance with their relentless war footing and bs war on terror in order to sweep away our individual rights for what they claim to be our own protection.
Then you have the progressive left who want to demonize business and anybody who won't buy into the european socialistist menatlity. This is why america is so torn apart. You get rid of the neocon and progressive elements and lean the country back toward center and we may be able to find common ground and start to correct our issues.

For you to say that we lost our chance to "CHANGE the way we live and govern ourselves” and OWS “didn't want to enact a liberal socialist regime that took away capitalism” in the same sentence is completely contradictory. The first part was absolutely true; OWS absolutely wants to CHANGE the way we live and govern ourselves. The second part is absurd. Of course they want to kill capitalism; that’s all they shout every damn day! You can’t have people flying Marxist flags and talking smack about capitalism and evil bankers and then try to claim the movement isn’t “anti-capitalism”.

Of course it failed!! Americans have had enough of this community organized socialist BS. Nobody but a small group of idiots wants to completely change the way we govern ourselves. The only people that seek that are the radical nuts who make up Obama’s base and the psychopaths who pull his strings. I can’t wait until the streets are clean once again.

By the way, hope is not lost. The Tea Party wants limited government, an end to corporate corruption, an end to the FED, an end to special interests, an end to corrupt politicians, etc. We have an election coming up in 1 year and many candidates primed and ready to run. Get behind a movement that works within the system. Any OWS supporter crying about ending corruption that won’t get behind TTP isn’t concerned about ending corruption. They will prove to be nothing more than a fraud, a partisan, an anti-capitalist, an advocate of socialism, and everything else they claim NOT to be.

We'll see! I'm not holding my breathe! I know who they really are.
I hope they prove me wrong though.

I am glad the occupy folks are out there doing there little deeds in the streets....being arrested, having their pictures taken while protesting for something they know very little if anything about....but I am glad they are there.as it makes it easier to identify them...the communists, and marxists, and mr obama's national socialists. It gives comfort to know they will be the first against the wall when the real revolution comes.
