Was Kerry Drunk on TV Last Night???

I saw the speech live on MSNBC last night, and as soon as I saw Kerry I noticed his eyes were barely open. My first thought was "is he stoned". It was fairly late, and Chris Matthews said it was an impromptu speech. I see no reason why it would be out of the realm of possibilites that he had a few drinks last night. He is Catholic.

I saw the clip and Kerry was not drunk at all. Saying so would make no more sense than saying Bush was coked up during his speech at Convention.

It is pretty sad that Americans expect their presidents NOT to be human. That is why people got hysterical about Clinton's private business and have now elected a moron who hears 'voices from God'.

If it's midnight and Kerry wants do some brew, I'm not going to object. I hope he may keep if off camera because the SHRILL REPUBLICAN PURITANS do get HYSTERICAL.

Slank, George disappointed these Repubs last night. He couldnt concentrate on the teleprompter, with the disruptions at the RNC I thought for sure he'd lose his place and somehow, after some hesitation, he managed to get back on track. His (thin) crack-for lips were quivering, distorted, his voice was weak, low, and not the voice of a leader at all. SO, to take the heat off Georgie, they are now saying Kerry was drunk.
AND, to make matters worse, now Clinton went and picked the day after the RNC to have heart problem?
Will these democrats stop at nothing for the limelight?

Shocking what these Democrats will do.

Cheney does have that that tension scowl going on pretty good i must admit. Maybe even some resentment there. Does he have any great difficulties he has overcome in his life, that have left him bitter? Maybe if you know you may have a major coronary at any instant it creates a good deal of tension, and resentment at (God?) someone.

Other chat sites on the internet have most folks saying he was either
stoned or drunk. The percentage I'd guess was 70% think he was
either drunk or stoned, and the rest don't see it or don't want to see
it. That's my guess. These are both sites that go to the left and the right.

Two points to make about Kerry's blathering -

#1 - He did NOT do two tours of duty as he keeps claiming. He was on
a boat for a few months and then on land for four months. That does
not equal TWO tours of duty. How can you have a Commander in Chief
who doesn't even understand this basic part of the military. Kerry
keeps bringing it up .... HE is the one that keeps begging to be verbally
smacked around because of it. He has no excuse for this. He was in
the military. He should know this and I'm sure he has been reminded of
the truth in this situation many times. Yet he blathers on about it ...

#2 - Kerry said 'I have five words for America - 'this is your wake up call'.
Uh ... Mr. Kerry ... Those are SIX words.

It's hard to count to six when you are drunk, I suppose.

Okay .... we will never know the truth of this. No one was standing next
to him with a breathalizer or a little cup to pee in. The news the next
morning was full of the sad situation at the Russian school, Hurricane
Frances, and President Clintons heart condition (major surprise!! He's
in such good shape, or so we thought). So, with such a full news day,
any investigations by the news groups was lost to bigger - and probably
more important - news.

I am going to conclude that he was probably drunk (or the botox finally
reached his brain). I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one
who saw it ... and it definately looks like many others (Republicans,
Democrats, Independants, etc.) were aware of this too.

I just wish it had been a slow news day yesterday, so some nosey
reporter could have investigated this and found out for sure, one
way or the other.

Oh, right. I didn't watch either speech, watch either convention. I really don't care what goes on anymore. I beleive the only real way to elect president is to make both of them sit at a computer and play Civilization III against each other. Which ever has a larger, better civilization wins! Simple, isn't it?

Whether Kerry was drunk, stoned, tired, or what have you- at least he watched the convention. Bush admitted that he wasn't watching the democratic nat'l convention. Additionally, Bush has allegedly had problems in the past with coc aine and alcohol. We're probably looking at a "lesser of two evils" type situation.

Does anyone have a link to the actual video clip? That MP3 sounds like it was from several years ago.

Your right it was Cheney, I forgot Bush only needed a school deferment and when he was through with that he just needed the Lieutenant governor of Texas at the time to help him get into the National Guard and flight school, the guy has now come forward and told how he helped Bush. You are right Bush did not need that many deferments to keep his wussy butt out of Vietnam he had friends in high places.
