Thanks for having me ATS. This is what I found today:

Below is a list of "supporters, sponsors, and sympathizers" of #Occupy.

wNote: All entries on this list are real and verified. Below each entry you will find a series of source links documenting the support for #Occupy.

As each new controversial endorsement has appeared over the last month, #Occupy supporters have dismissed them one by one as “isolated examples” that don’t reflect any overall trend toward extremism. But when viewed in aggregate like this, it becomes much more difficult to dismiss any individual endorsement as an aberration; instead, an undeniable pattern emerges.

I recognize that there are many more names needed to complete this list, but it looks like everyone out there is trying to capitalize on this movement.

The propaganda war here is testing me. The interwoven nature of the info/disinfo is amazing and daunting. It often feels like a script. It seems to me the more one sees the less he should believe. So for now I have a limited opinion on this situation but thought that this was an interesting and well compiled starter list of who's playing who.

Who can you add to this list?

I'd say you can safely add the SEIU, M.O.R.E. (Missouri's successor/parallel to the former Acorn) and a variety of major unions from coast to coast....

No...This isn't anti-capitalist..

It's just a "grass roots" campaign.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei
Hugo Chavez
Revolutionary Guards of Iran
The Govt of North Korea
Communist Party of China
Hezbollah

Anyone else?

It is true that many of these groups have expressed their support for OWS, but as you said in the op.....OWS does not support them.

#Occupy supporters have dismissed them one by one as “isolated examples” that don’t reflect any overall trend toward extremism.

What else can they say? They have come out and said the OWS does not support these groups, but have no control over who supports them.

The propaganda war here is testing me.

I'm sure this thread will become a test in and of itself. People will make comments about how OWS is garbage because of these endorsments, but they refuse to admit that the "guilt by association" argument falls flat in this particular case.

Good luck

My concern and reason for posting this information is that I feel there is a campaign for our mind and it would be prudent to know who all is involved.

Personally, I am on the fence with this.

So let me balance the facts a little and add that a poll held between Oct 13-17 showed results signifying that 37% of Americans were in support of OWS. Now that info only represents the first few weeks of the movement. I bet that number is well over 50 by now.

Now you bring up an important point. An ever-growing number of Americans, everyday people like you and I, are moving to support OWS and local movements. OWS polls better than even the Tea Party right now!

So when we say that OWS is defined by these "socialist groups", we are going to offend and generalize a large portion of the American population as well that has no connection to these extremist views or groups.
