Everything just went from bad to worse for Acorn. First one tape. OOPS! Another tape!
OMG! A 3rd tape! ......What?! A 4th tape . All in different cities! 5th tape! OMG!

---------
ABC, NBC & CBS completely ignored the Acorn scandal until the White House
condemned the Acorn mess.

That might explain why even the more liberal news orgs were ignoring and downplaying OWS for so long... Not so much in an attempt to coverup OWS, but more of an attempt to give it a chance to take off, before things like this makes it out?

Just thinking out loud.

and for the record, I am more left leaning and actually have been speaking out in support of OWS for the most part, up until today.... Sometimes "waking up" to truth, sucks. But I would rather hear an ugly truth than a beautiful lie.

Even those of us that see it happening wish it weren't true

We simply accept that it is....

I am starting to see the corruption of the movement,myself.... The groups in Ohio and even in Dallas, one storming a bank and vandalizing it the other blocking the doors of a bank, not letting anyone in or out...That is what really made me start questioning what is going on...Yeah, it does suck.

Like I said in a previous post though, I would rather hear an ugly truth than a beautiful lie.

That is an excellent thought to live by. If only more people were of that mindset, sheeple would be an endangered species.

I sincerely mean it when I say God bless the OWS'ers who are innocent of heart and intentions, but y'all should be TICKED OFF at this revelation.

Something weird is definitely going on and there is no way Obama is outta the loop.

Hard to reconcile that Fox broke the story, but that in itself might be an indicator of how complex this "game" might be.

No other protests have been granted so much leeway and that in itself is another anomaly to consider in this world-wide Gordian knot.

We need to think hard on this one.

Oh believe me, I am ticked. I am one of those innocent's who's heart was in the right place...Looking and hoping for a fix to the problems in Washington and the economy and so much more...

I had an underlying fear that maybe this was sort of a liberal tea party.... with people on the left with an agenda, working behind the scenes to manipulate the movement....

The past several days, this fear seems to be coming true....

It makes me wonder if the people have any control anymore... I mean... Do we? Tea party infiltrated by the politicians on the left. OWS infiltrated by politicians on the left....

What CAN the people do to change things? I have said before that we can't rely on the politicians to change things anymore.... But what can we do now?

I really don't know.

Amend the Constitution

I think Warren Buffet gets credit for this--

*Congressional Reform Act of 2011* 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term's), then go home and back to work.

There are some good ideas out there.

My best advice to the current generation is to Amend the Constitution!

Warren Buffett, "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.

You ARE the most educated generation...use it to change the laws of the land, represent the country as a whole and not just a select group of people and the country will support it

The worst thing about yet again another Acorn scandal

“All the money collected from canvasses is pooled together back at the office, and everything we’ve been working on for the last year is going to the protests, against big banks and to pay people’s salaries—and those people on salary are, of course, being paid to go to the protests every day,” one NYCC staff member stated.
Those who contribute don't know the money is going to fund the protests, the source said.
“They give contributions because we say if they do we can fix things - whatever specific problem they’re having in their area, housing, schools, whatever ... then we spend the contributions paying staff to be at the protests all day, every day. That’s where these contributions - the community’s money – is going”.

They are sending out goons LYING to truly innocent giving people!!
Taking the donations that they are suppose to help said community
AND LINING THERE DIRTY POCKETS WITH THE MONEY
WHILE PROTESTING GREEDY WALL STREET SCUM!!

IT makes me BLOOD BOIL!!

These people are lower then LOW!

That's right, ignore the facts.

What facts? That in some city protesters were paid 100$ for protesting? Sounds ludicrous, but hey, if true good for them! Or in other city some people took a dump in public place? Or that someone stole some money? That some people got nicked? Or that someone tried sell some drugs?
Dude, thats happening in nearly every city of our world, everyday, you should make some crusade against urbanized areas in general.

THE FACT is, in Ireland for example, gov paid over 18bln$ in bailouts for banks, there is 4 mln citizens, so do the math yourself. Banks created recession with their happy-crediting, then got bailed out with billions of taxmoney, and credits will still have to be paid by same taxpayers. And nobody seem to care, not a single CEO got sacked, or even questioned, on a contrary, they all received lucrative bonuses. How does that work?

As for world wide, socialists are making headways in every free govt. on earth, why wouldn't this be a worldwide charade to promote their agenda of globalism.

You dont get it, there is no socialism, there is no capitalism, there is no republic, there is only one global banking system, that controls politics, economics and religion.

For those of you who support the OWS phenomenon and it's subsequent offshoots, you should rejoice.

The resistance by any organization, corporate or otherwise is to be expected. That predefined 'named' repugnant groups are presenting a case that this event was their brainchild is actually a point of success. It means that elements outside the OWS "movement" (I still am reticent to use that term) are now mobilizing in an offensive manner to marginalize the message. It means that the effort actually threatened someone or something and that reaction serves as a testament to the sensitivity and legitimacy of the the subject.

All sorts of pathetic demagoguery and characterizations are part and parcel of the kind of struggle that the OWS should expect to evoke. It is actually a good thing.... from the perspective that any attention, even being lied about, is better than no attention. Lies are easy to deal with, they eventually come to light and usually are recognized for what they are anyway.

Brace yourselves though, because they are not the only 'repugnant' organization that will lay claim to the genesis of the movement. It will be soon turning quite a bit uglier.

If you have been paying attention (and I know you have) you may have heard of the NYCPD decision to refrain from engaging in low-level arrests because they feel it may escalate antipathy and lead to people getting hurt. It wasn't that they support the movement; it was simple judicious policing ... kudos to them.

But what hasn't been highlighted is that other cities "coincidentally" began the process of systemically arresting protesters in other cities.... all, apparently, at the same time (generally speaking). This means a trigger has been pulled and the word was given at a level which finds it's source 'beyond' the local governance.... I note this because the ACORN revelation seems to have surfaced in time to be included as an aspect of the "after reporting" by the media. This is a PR trick that reeks of Madison Avenue.... but again just my opinion.

For those of you who find the protests and everything about them suspect and devoid of merit... you should rejoice too.

This movement was said to be leaderless. As such - it was nearly impossible to criticize ideologically because there was no one upon whom one could focus the ad hominem, no 'history' to use against them. The harshest thing to muster was the 'jobless' misbegotten youth angle, or the attention-seeking trash of society observations. That was not working effectively - the movement which most of you derided as 50 or 60 lunatics with cardboard signs has proven to be anything but that. The insertion of groups like "unions," "the communist party," "Zionist-fixated bigots," and now "ACORN" into the mix of supporters provides you with much to criticize. And their insistence of the attachment to this cause presents a lasting and fertile breeding ground for derision, which seems to be the principle tool which many of you enjoy using (at least that seems evident in the media and on these threads.)

This was always the weakness of the so-called "leaderless" movement approach... There is no one 'authority' to speak against the adoption of the cause by undesirable social elements which detract from their message (as indistinct and ethereal as it seems to many.)

But beware. These are conveniences that fail to address the actual cause of the movement - and the anti-hippie, peace-nik,.pinko nonsense can only go so far... it is after all rhetoric of the 60's, the fall back from the MCarthy era, it failed before for a reason... it is best to focus on those newer repulsive elements which demonstrate the fact that this movement represents an opportunity for those who seek to deflect any inquiries into the abuses of the captains of industry and their political lapdogs.
----------------------

This is theater, layered on top of an effort to agree that something is very wrong.... watch the showmanship too closely and you miss the point of the exercise. For some that is the point of the show. Others may not agree.

Fox news is dying a slow but sure death. Then what? Alex Jones Network is gonna come in and save the day?
Do people receive any news about Soros that isn't Alex Jones Rush or Michael Savage filtered?
Whenever I see Soros name I know who has their ear. Certainly there have never been conservative scandals.Or mega power players using politics to suit their agenda ;Koch PNAC etc.
Also was it not established that the supposed ACORN scandals were neo-con false flag missions?
Guys, please watch a different network occasionally. Please. Give yourself a week of no Alex and no Fox and just see if your blood pressure drops and digestion regularity sets in.
I speak from experience.I began watching Alex J in 1997 on access tv and stopped a couple years ago when I realized his end game. I feel better and more clear than ever.

We are all--regardless of our personal philosophies--being used in one way or another.

That bong keyboard bit is so played out. Such an assumption. How about you put down the Slim Jim step away from your bullet reloader and take a laxative? Is that fair?
Fox news is #1 temporarily,Their numbers are tiny compared to the US population. Fox's strategy is simple and effective because angry scared people can get enough of being angry and scared.
It'll blow up soon enough. The signs are there, they get more and more desperate everyday.

I think the real point is this is true information.... if the source is correct is it really important everyone approves of the source?

I want the facts, I don't care where they come from.

I think most people involved in seeking truth get their news from multiple sources. The fact Fox broke the story is a simple explanation of how come the link was listed as source

Lets be honest. Do think ABC, CBS & NBC were working hard to find the truth about Acorn
and their current activities?

Of course not, it doesn't fit their liberal template.
They enjoy trying to teach the American people how to think.
They don't want to teach the American people that Acorn is still corrupt so they simply
look the other way.

Sorry, but both the Bong, Redneck and Alinsky arguing tactics are old.

All you have is to attack the messenger. Funny, as I am sure you would treat it as if it were from God Almighty if reported on CNN.

Superbly put Maxmars... Your posting practically mirrors my own thoughts. Give yourself 500 points

The fact that this movement is putting so many noses out of joint, and the fact that so many persist in trying to discredit it in any and every way possible, tells me (more than anything else) that those being protested against are getting worried.

I find this somehow ...
reassuring
