New Zealand's child death shame

I think we have more child deaths from abuse and neglect than anyone.

We are a small population and our child abuse is shameful and horrifying.

So, America, I think we are worse than you.

Hey now, what's this all about?

How about you just add some proof or go back to doing something worthwhile.

child neglect is horrendous, but back up your blanket statements with some proof. That at the moment is nothing more than Your opinion.

I could quite easily go out there and research it for myself, but this could be a great exercise for you in the art of thread creation.

It is true that this thread would be a hundred times better with some sort of proof. Though alas i'm still amazed at how stupid the logic of ATS can sometimes be.

Sources or the abuse isn't happening? It may or not be happening regardless or sources, though I really don't think the fact that there are no sources given in this thread really changes the reality of what may or may not be happening.

I know I am now being pedantic but this sort of figure of speech seems to be more and more common these days that it is actually being taken for truth.

You know that I know that child-abuse happens everywhere, in all countries.

What I'm saying is that there needs to be a little bit of proof, maybe some statistics or a news article or two to engage some users of ATS.

I'm sorry if I had to use 'proof or it isn't happening', but as you say, it has become the way in which the users of this website politely ask for some evidence, or more information.

There's an article out, will find it laters, the USA has the worst stats on child abuse and child abuse related deaths in the industrialized world today.

Not only are we probably the worst in the world when it comes to child deaths but we also have the:

#1 ranking for most cannabis abuse
#1 ranking for most teen suicides.
#1 ranking for most rape victims
#2 ranking for most suicides between ages 25 - 34
#2 for teenage pregnancy.
#3 ranking for most methamphetamine abuse.
#3 ranking for finding school boring.
#3 assault victims.
