Youtube has been a great source for unedited footage for me past few years, and one of the most surprising video series I came across was the Charles Manson interviews, NOT edited by the media. Have any of you actually watched any of them? I think you'd be surprised at the difference in your own impressions of him vs what the media has told us about him for decades now.

Here's what the media wants us to see of Charlie, which is mostly select sound bytes like everything else they do...

I'd be lying if I said Charlie didn't crack me up when he acts like that, but I don't think he's any more insane than ANY of us would be under the same conditions he's endured.

If you have the time now or someday, I recommend watching this uncut interview with Geraldo Riveira...

Playlist - click here

Can any of you imagine what it would be like to spend 23 hours per day in solitary confinement for years? Would any one of us sound or act remotely sane after even 2 weeks of that life? Any mammal on the planet would go insane under those conditions.
He's had a lot of time to think about the world and society, and his words do ring of many truths in the world. Give him a chance and see what you think about him compared to what the media told us about him.

Based on what I've seen of Manson from these uncut interviews, I kind of feel bad for the guy, and for all of us at the same time.
What was bizarre to me was that I found myself agreeing with his perspective at times.
He seems to have been used and abused by the media and America's lack of environmental perspective and empathy to the lifestyle he was a part of at the time.

I also don't think releasing him from prison at this point would do him or any of us any good. That's his home now and he's comfortable with that reality, among many other realities he is living in.

Me too.

Actually that last interview in Natural Born Killers was inspired by that Manson interview with Geraldo according to oliver stone.

Well and your certainly entitled to an opinion. However just remember he did commit the crimes he was charged with. He does however make valid points but many of those are just common knowledge anyway. To say you like a conspirator of mass murder though is a bold statement, but again I LOVE THE FACT we all can have our own opinions.

Well you're not going to like this one.... I am a therapist, somewhat. It's called residential counselor, or direct care specialist. I have worked with everyone from blind & deaf to highly violent mentally ill adolescents.... and I find Charlie more empathetic and high brow than your statement.

He did set it up though. So if someone set up the rape and murder of your family member, but didnt ACTUALLY commit the crime, that would be ok? I doubt it

Yes free speech is a nice illusion even though this and many other statements I've made on this site and others can and will be used against my character in any court of law if needed. Not so free if it has a cost to me with naive juries someday. Kind of like the naive Americans who buy, hook line & sinker, the entire Manson family madness that the media perpetrated about him.

No one who is commenting on how insane and murderous he is has watched these interviews, just like most of the 9/11 OS'ers haven't watched a single 9/11 truth type of documentary, yet have endless opinions about that day.

I don't think the trial would stand a chance today.

First off you have the president of the united states declaring that he is guilty while the trial is on going. This kind of statement I'm sure has a direct influence on the juries opinion and would at the very least need a new jury.

He wasn't allowed to address the Jury cause the judge feared that he would hypnotize them.

Edit to add:

From what I understand also, none of his witnesses were allowed to testify. He didn't have one minute of defense.

lol

Sure of course you're right.

But you're saying he's guilty when the trial was an obvious sham. He wasn't allowed witnesses.. not one minute of defense. Is that fair?

We're in backwards world if you haven't noticed. Justice is very blind.
Charles Manson didn't murder anyone, gets life pretty much.
OJ - white Bronco, nuff said.... not guilty.
Manson - worth $0 innocent, worth millions guilty.
OJ - worth millions, cost millions for not guilty.
That's the American just-us system.

Allegedly, through other people? How many people have made statements, online alone, that call for harming or killing of others in the same ways he supposedly did to those kids who did the killing?

I can twist this around and say that Rumsfeld, Bush, and Cheney, to start, should be immediately arrested and go on trial for the murder of over 1 million innocent civilians in Iraq. THEY "commanded" others to kill children, fathers, and pregnant mothers, all in the name of bad information?

how bout if he ever gets out you let him come stay at your place then since you feel oh so sorry for him

guys a #ing nutcase just because he didnt kill anyone doesn't make him not guilty

if i sent some people to your house and killed your whole family arent i just as guilty as the people doing the killing

this guy deserves to rot in a cell for the rest of his life and i hope he is uncomfortable as possible

as just because he shares some of your views on politics and such doesn't mean you have to like the guy im sure their are alot better people who share your same views that you can like

Yes, it is the responsibility of the commander as to who dies.
And yes, Bush is ultimately responsible for the death that war brought.
And those whom put bush in power..aka, the majority of the american people whom elected him...so yes, we all have blood on our hands (even those of us whom never voted for him...democracy..innit a bish).

Chuck was commander of his own little cult...so he and those whom put him up shall be punished accordingly..they were not elected to make decisions about life and death..
