The signs are not the real issue, the right to free speech is and whether there was a tussle in the first place or is it Dis-Info.

you're right...i got sucked in...and i flamed about it in my reply to the OP. even though i'm older and presumably wiser, i let my emotional guard down. this is an issue of free speech, nothing more, nothing less. but, i wonder if the OP likes to pull the wings off of moths in front of children, or show large color photos of aborted fetuses in public.

I agree the racism is a total non-issue, the signs are just caricatures, and are not racist. Arguing about whether it's racist or not is not the issue here.

I disagree with you over the point of "US Government versus Washington State" because there is no credibility to the notion that the feds "petitioned" anyone to remove the signs, nor any credibility to the notion they are going to withhold money from Washington. There is also no credibility to the notion that Washington State has even acknowledged these signs, much less threatened to secede from the union over it.

You all are being played here by a fabricated headline.

Signs like these depicting any number of politicians crop up all the time. Unless the sign violates a zoning law, or depict obscene material, they're usually left alone. My hometown has a few like signs these "ranting" political diatribes painted on the side of buildings that border a highway that have targeted our local political leaders for years, no one bats an eye at them other than to get a chuckle or two. They're on private property and are protected by the 1st amend.

Again, the original source article at "forum.punjabijunktion.co.in" only posts images of the signs and makes no claim of a "Feds versus Washington" bruhaha. However, someone at "Dailypaul.com" has decided to copy the forum post at punjabijunktion and included the fabricated statement "The federal government is now petitioning to have these signs removed or Washington state will be denied additional monies for interstate highways.".

Show me one verifiable source for that claim.

This is just another bogus headline designed to work up the right-wing and it seems to be working, apparently NO ONE in the right-wing blogosphere can be bothered to confirm such ridiculous claims before running around in an outrage and repeating the claim in spite of a lack of sources like it was the gospel truth.


If you want to be outraged over the sign for how they depict Obama - fine.
If you want to be outraged over the claims in these signs - fine.
If you find them hilarious - fine.

If you want to be outraged over the feds threatening Washington State to remove the signs and Washington State in turn seceding from the union - well, buddy, you need to learn to discern a troll post and rumor-mongering when you see it, otherwise you'll be in a perpetual rage over false headlines.

Well being a Brit I don't feel it's my place to get overly involved in US politics ... but I have to say that whilst the handwriting was neat ... the spelling was apalling and that kind of detracts from the point the person / people who made the signs were trying to make and ended up making themselves more of joke than the signs.

"people like me" don't see anything funny in these billboards. obama has been trying to get medical coverage for millions of people that have nothing or close to it, EVEN WHEN THEY WORK FULL TIME! let's see how many years you would be willing to go WITHOUT your daughter or son ever seeing a doctor..... he tried to get the stimulus bill, where the whole amount went to economic job creation, but, the republicans would not pass it UNLESS it had 366 billion in tax breaks, and approx 100 billion of the 800 billion went to state coffers, so it would give REPUBLICAN and democratic governors time to adjust their budgets with the least amount of harm to their own people, but the REPUBLICAN governors never give credit for pulling their *ss out of the fire. after 2 1/2 years, approx. 40% of judges nominated by obama to fill empty federal court judgeships, STILL HAVE BEEN DENIED BY THE REPUBLICANS, the republicans are doing everything they can to hurt this country, just so they can make obama lose in the next election. i don't give a d**m about the republicans, because they don't give a d**m about the bottom 95% of this country...they want poor people to go hungry, to go homeless, to get no medical coverage, no social security, no college funding for the poor and middle class, and work harder and longer for less money. the republicans want to bring down this country...NO?....look at the congressional record at the bills they voted for and AGAINST....it's in black and white and on the record, no "sound bites" there.

No, there have been several instances of Tea baggers misspelling words, twisting facts, and just outright lying. These are the actions that I base my conclusions on.

Not all teabaggers are as dumb as a rock. But the vast majority brings down the average. Sorry if your affiliated them, they will drag you down.
