I guess we agree to disagree.
I stand behind Israel 100%.
I was - very - impressed with Netanyahu when he spelled out and lectured Obama
about the simple truths in the middle east.
-------------
He made Obama look like a small 10 year old.

Fair enough, friend. I appreciate the well-mannered discourse and can respect your opinions even if I can't support them.

In my ideal world, where Israel is a righteous nation and is not causing harm to others or using their closest ally to accomplish their ends while also angling against them (seriously, it always blows my mind - check out Mossad's spying around the world and the rings we've found here at home), I could understand firm support even though I would not approve of giving them such undo respect and assistance.

I have to look through the eyes of history as well, though, and it's a fact that for most of history, there have not been serious issues between us and them, or even they and the jews. All our differences now are primarily politcal/foreign policy-related in nature and have really only seen the escalation and tension we have now in the last 70 years or so - when Israel was reborn as a nation and began imposing inequality and control on the palestinians. The main root of the issue is that they're seeing as cruel occupiers - without that, the fanatical groups would fade to the background as they were shouted down by majority moderate opinions...but all our actions keeping giving them the fire to stay relevant.

Anyhow, thanks again and be blessed.

Newt is unelectable, because with out the women's vote you ain't got squat. Women will never forgive him for leaving his wife with cancer for a younger, prettier woman. He can win every debate but he's toast.

www.kansascity.com...

Newt is a perv and uses his patriotism and hard work as an excuse...
that might work as a rationalization for some men but most women would give newt one of these....

Yes, i know Newt is unelectable. He still won the debate.
-------------
I liked it best when Newt BLASTED Chris Wallace for the gotcha questions.
Pointing out the asinine 12 member Super Committee was also priceless.
I can clearly see the top 3. Can you?

I agree Newt is unelectable but I think it's a shame. Newt woud probably make a good president. He's very smart, has a PhD in European History, has mostly conservative values, and has a good grasp of history and current events. I had a history class from him at West Georgia College in 1971/72 and really liked him. His quick mind and extensive knowledge made what could of been a boring class very interesting.

Top three...........

The GOP has got to come up with something better than that, and soon because 2012 is fast approaching.

Personally, I thought Newt looked terrible and the only person that didn't sound like some sort crazy religious nut was Ron Paul. I liked Newt giving Chris Wallace a nice walloping but other than that, he looked out of his element and decided to make himself look more like the "sensible" Ron Paul with his new found desire to "audit" the Federal Reserve.

My problem with Newt Gingrich is that he's not who says he is. This is a guy who actually wants to force the American public into mandatory drug testing and has no respect for due process or the constitutional process. See here: must be tested

Newt Gingrich has also said that he supports the individual mandate on the purchasing of Health Care that Obama passed through Congress. He supported it back in 93 by proposing that there be a mandate for health care through government bonds when the Hillarycare debate was raging.

The guy couldn't even keep a clear position on Libya. He's clearly just a complete mess.

I found Newt to be a little too cozy with Bill Clinton.
He also blew it on Meet the Press.
Too many problems but i'm glad he is there to round out the field.
----------
The next debate will be even better.
2 should drop out to make room for 2 new candidates.

While we disagree on Paul and some policy issues, I forgot to mention this earlier.

I was also very impressed with Gingrich last night. He spoke well and said some good things, in addition drawing attention to the horrible debate format and moderation.

It's seriously past time for them to rework the debates so they are *actually debates* instead of QA sessions with selective questions.

Take care.

Ron Paul ALWAYS wins the straw polls. His organization always stacks the deck
with Ron Paul supporters flooding the system.
The national polling data reveals the truth.
It's down to 3.
Mitt Romney
Michelle Bachmann
Sarah Palin
-----------
A simple protest vote would elect any of the above capitalists in 2012.

I know there are A LOT of Ron Paul supporters here on ATS but i'm sorry. It's over.

While I would have to reluctantly agree with you that Ron Paul has very little, if any, chance of securing the GOP nomination, I'm going to have to disagree with your "3". Not about any poll numbers, but with the idea that any of the three can defeat President Obama in 2012. I don't think a majority of Americans would even waste "a simple protest vote" on any of them, IMHO. I think, realistically, Rick Perry is probably their best bet.

Personally, I can't stand the idea of voting for any of your "Three", Perry or Obama, but it's already starting to look like I'm gonna be S.O.L. come next November.

they are only gotcha questions if you cant come up with a well thought out articulate response. The cry of "thats a gotcha question" is the cry of a dimwit struggling to avoid answering a valid question.

That was an impressive debate. Newt won the battle but Mitt Romney won the war.
Bachmann and Pawlenty cancelled each other out with there pointless bickering.
Ron Paul blew it by dismissing Iran as nothing to worry about.
Withdrawing all of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan looks really great on paper but
it fails the reality test. - Sorry Ron, you're out. -
-----------
Newt started out by - BLASTING - Chris Wallace FNS with a Stop with the Gotcha questions!
Then he hit a home run by BLASTING the 12 member Super Committee that will
apparently either - raise taxes OR gut defense.
That's like saying we can either shoot you in the head or cut off your right leg.
What's it going to be?

Newt wins the battle BUT
------------
Mitt Romney however wins the war because he has a mountain of cash to fund a
powerful presidential campaign.

It's amazing people are still duped by all these lying politicians (save Ron Paul) who will say anything to get elected. Yeah Iran is a real threat no air force, no navy, can't even refine enough gas for thier people etc... Sigh! I bet you believe Iraq was a threat too... They are all starting to sound like Ron Paul on monetary issues but the difference is Ron is the only guy not lying who'll will actually do what he says. The rest are just opportunistic liars!

If Republicans had a brain in their head they would choose Ron Paul. He is the only Republican that can beat BO. He appeals to independents and the Democrat disaffected none of the others cross those lines and are seen as the hacks they are. I am not confident enough republicans are bright enough to figure that out. He will have a harder time winning the R nomination then he would the presidency in the general election. Hopefully since this is his last race he will run anyway as an independant if he does not get the republican nomination...

OOPS! You appear to be ignoring their increasingly sophisticated missile program.
Every year Iran appears to be building bigger and better missiles with longer ranges.

The American people are slowly becoming aware that Obama has lied by omission.
He failed to inform us that he intended to throw a wet blanket over free market capitalism.
Capitalism will take off like a rocket just as soon as Obama is thrown out of office.
Obama is a socialist.
The Fortune 500 companies are sitting on a mountain of cash.
---------------
In November 2012 the American people will walk into the voting booth and vote - against -
Obama and - for - whoever the GOP candidate is.
The GOP candidate will be a capitalist.

Ron Paul won this debate.

At least in my mind he did. He was the only one to put it out there. We are screwing ourselves with our foreign policies.

The one issue I have with Ron Paul is that at first impression (I have never paid attention to him before), he seems to be very timid, and that could be a bad thing unless he can show me he does have some backbone.

But as far as I am concerned, he won the debate hands down and if he makes it to the election next year, most likely, he will get my vote.

He just doesn't seem to belong in the republican party though.....

Ron Paul is very timid. - not presidential -
The GOP winner will be more mainstream and less radical.
I think Mitt Romney came out on top. He has the most money and no one laid a glove on him.
----------
I'm not worried about Rick Perry. He is a RINO.

They have no missiles that have a range to be a threat to us. That's the Israelis problem if they want to attack, we need to stay the eff out of there!
