Just to add, that you're talking about WORKING FAMILIES and LAW ABIDING FAMILIES. These people aren't what you're talking about, may be you have it confused and may be I went in to one in my reply, for that I'm sorry. You have to understand that who you described is not these people, honestly, they really aren't. These people dont have morgages its all paid for council housing, these people don't care about parents, most only have one anyway due to the other wither being shot or dying of drug overdose or in prison! You're talking about a long the lines of a worker rising, but this, as I said before, is not it!!!!

I grew up in Hackney, thats my manor I'm watching on Sky news. To be specific the kings mead estate.

The 'thugs' have no future, they have no role models, big time drug dealers are what many aspire to, that and the 'gangsta' culture which the MSM has promoted so much. Luckily my mum worked hard and i got a bit more than most of my friends, couple of holidays, some days out. I was also quite smart and thought I could 'get somewhere'. My friends did not. I had to get a train to get to a decent school.

What we are seeing is the result of allowing the ghettos to be filled with mored and more dissillusioned people crammed into these estates. If you manage to get a decent job, you get the hell out of there.

I know these people, yes they are criminals, but they are still normal people, they just dont have much to give a f*** about or a future to protect. They also hate the police so they are probably having a great time attacking them.

My point is: IT is OUR society that has created the environment that produces this situation. And with the cuts that will effect the poor to benefit the rich, this is going to get worse as the cuts hit hard.

After kingsmead estate decended into anarchy and a police no go area in 1992, they had a massive crack down, lots went to prison, then they spent lots of money giving people opertunities and help to take advantage of them. IT WORKED, the estate improved a lot. It is on a decline again over the last couple of years.

I'm not sure why Sky are doing word-of-mouth reports on on firebombs. I've seen them throwing firebombs on the Sky feed only half an hour back!

But Sky are acting like it's unconfirmed when it was on their own feed. I saw atleast 2 firebombs being thrown, both landed in the road and created small patches of fire for a few minutes

You said it brother. We need a Britain for the people run by the people, not the elite. There is no Labour party anymore to take care of the worker and social interests. Labour ripped out the heart of their commitment to the worker and socialism with the removal of Clause 4. We need to rise up and take our country back. Peacefully if at all possible (see other post). Money and materialist goods do not give people a good moral compass and ethics. Education and interaction with a caring and social community can. Margaret Thatcher's legacy is a brutal, uncaring, disconnected, apathetic, 'I'm alright Jack' society of alienated and downtrodden people who have lost their pride in what it one meant to be a great nation.

Bath is very nice, well done! That's exactly how they are getting about, is through text, email, twitter whatever on top of that the kids all get free bus travel all over London, so you can smash the place up run out of the area on to a bus and then do it again somewhere else!

Well I hope you're family is safe and if it does kick off in Catford, which it could unfortunately knowing Catford, then just tell them to be vigilant and stay inside, maybe go to a single room in the property and stay there for a bit if it comes down their street.

Hopefully it won;t come to that and these people will stick to Poundland, Carpet Right and Lidl!

What else do you expect when the media tell you that need to have that to be a men , or to be sucessfull in life ?
What else do you expect when your child see you working hard labour to keep you living in this crap ?
What else do you expect when your child see your body totaly broken by your hard work ?

Educate yourself dont be stupid and dont fall in the cliché that media , politician .advertissement ,are trying to show you , for sure it easy to blame the poor , they are weak they dont have enough money to pay a lawyer and to fight back .
But if you look closely you will see that the rich get more benefit from the governement that the poor .
What the poor get from the gov is like below the 5% percent of their budget now check what the budget allocated for the rich , for tax cut and else.

So make your choice , keep beating on the poor you might be one very soon dont forget that or open your eyes.

funny triva : I had a friend that was complaining about the people getting the welfare that they were slacker and stuff , unfortunately he did became after that unemployed for 3 year ... he was on the welfare all this time and believe me he was happy to have it , i never heard him complaining about the people getting the welfare ever again.

Thats what I heard and I sided with the police for defending themselves, but aparently the bullet in the officers uniform was from a police weapon which is why everyones so angry as it seems like they tried to make it appear they were fired on by shooting their own gear. Personally tho I think this is a bit far fetched who knows though.

The rioters though are nothing but criminals seeing an chance to make some quick money. There are many many peacefull protesters though as well but they wont be shown en masse in the news, they want all protesters to look like thugs apart from a tiny minority when really the tiny minority are the looters

The point is you got out, your mum worked, you trained. What's their excuse? If you can do it, anyone can do it, no disrespect, but I mean if you were in that environment and so was your mum, you both still made something. This is what I'm saying, I know people that live throughout Newham and I myself lived in Stratford and seriously, many got out of that place and bettered themselves, white and black guys! There is lots of ways to better yourself and people who don't work have tonnes thrown at them in this country, more than any other country in the world including America. Sorry, but there is no excuse for this!

You are saying that the rioters are the Chavs just getting what they can for free. I am telling you that it is not. Some of them rioters are people like myself who are sick of having to pay for what the Bankers and the Government have done to us. You are single minded. I hear you mate - and can relate. Frankly, I think some people on the forum are happy to pidgeon hole everyone in these areas and give them a nice neat stereotypical face they can hate. It isn't black and white people. There are people engaged in this outpouring of anger and frustration for many and varied reasons. Yes, some are just looking to half inch whatever they can get their hands on. However some are like as not caught up in the madness that is simply the rage against the machine...

And did your friend start smashing the place up and start looting? If you read any of my previous posts you will know that I lived in East London, have you lived there? Do you know what thats like? I grew up in Herne Hill, Brixton, do you know what thats like? I could've easily been one of these people and so could have a lot of my friends. What you are doing is trying to take away their disgusting actions of mindless arson, looting, assault, threats, burglaries on the fact these people are poor. People in Africa are poor, these people, with their Iphones and Blackberry phones, internet at home, PS3 50inch tv screen and always money in the pocket are not poor!! However, as I said, you wouldn't know that unless you knew these areas!!! Believe me, the only people oppressed in this country are working families, especially British!!

That's funny, because I was watching Sky news this morning and it had Nick Clegg on there condemning the riots that occurred in Brixton last night.

Legitimate protests are not about looting and destroying small businesses or throwing gas bombs on the passing cars of fellow citizens. I'll bet that most don't even know the real reason for the original uprising but are just seeing an opportunity to smash and grab.

They are not idiots to me. They are fellow human beings who are pissed off and don't know how to
go about venting in a way that is most effective. Or maybe they are.

Fighting ANYTHING is rarely rational.
We are only human and we sometimes get caught up in the moment.
There is alot of pent up frustration and resentment amoung the average populace and it vents itself in various ways. This is one of them. No one is argueing that it is somehow rational or justified. To use a phrase which I hate, It is what it is. Get over it, cuz' sooner or later it will be at your doorstep. IF you are hellbent on teaching a mob of pissed off citizens some sort of lesson then you will end up losing your life.

Go with the flow and be understanding of the raw emotion that is being displayed and DO NOT get in the way of it nor try to suppress it in any way or it will turn on you and you will make yourself the enemy. Just let it take its natural course and stay out of the way if you don't want to participate.
