Again, our celebrity singers, actors, principled politicians, and anyone else around to do it should make it a point to feed the homeless of Orlando. Restaurants, private citizens, grocery stores hopefully will join in. This is like that dancing protest after a stupid court ruling - dance and feed the homeless of Orlando, as Jesus requested that people do (he didn't mention Orlando, but if he was around you know what he'd be doing...)

Strangely enough, I have never again seen the folks that I spoke to in that restaraunt... that is the most bizarre part to me

Angels among us?

Good story man. Sometimes folks run into just the right people at just the right time.

This is so utterly disturbing that I THANK GOD that I personally was not there. I would be the one that would most likely get arrested for slander, disturbing the peace, etc. To think that man has stooped to this level (law enforcement, gubment, WHATEVER), is truly painful to watch.

God Bless you guys in Orlando for what you believe in! As another poster had said in a previous post; next time I'm there (if I'm there), I'll be feeding the poor, as much as my pocketbook can spare.

I believe so.
There were other things that happened before and after that that lead me to believe that maybe this was the case. I have encountered others that have helped me during this time that I have never again seen (and should have). Odd chance encounters and bizarre just-in-time assistance... I would talk about it but don't want to wind up off topic.

How Many US Deaths Are Caused by Poverty and Other Social Factors? About the Same as Deaths from Heart Attacks and Stroke, Study Finds

ScienceDaily (June 16, 2011) — How researchers classify and quantify causes of death across a population has evolved in recent decades. In addition to long-recognized physiological causes such as heart attack and cancer, the role of behavioral factors -- including smoking, dietary patterns and inactivity -- began to be quantified in the 1990s. More recent research has begun to look at the contribution of social factors to U.S. mortality. In the first comprehensive analysis of such studies, researchers at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health found that poverty, low levels of education, poor social support and other social factors contribute about as many deaths in the U.S. as such familiar causes as heart attacks, strokes and lung cancer.

We need to do a better job of taking care of the less fortunate in this country from stress that can shorten life.

The problem is, what happens when more and more people turn up to get their free food, before you know it, the situation spirals out of control and you have major public disorder. Thats why it is naive to think that they should be allowed to carry out this sort of thing. It encourages tramps and vagrancy and unlawfulness. Not only that, but it also dissolves the state of their responsibility for feeding the people. This is why they SHOULD be arrested.

The food being served looks a lot more healthy than what those kids normally get to eat, so maybe its good that more pwople feed each other healthy food rather than be forced to eat cheap junk

We need to do a better job of taking care of the less fortunate because poverty, hunger and sickness has the potential to be a national security issue. A bunch of folks who are chronically hungry due to impoverishment and chronically sick for lack of access to medical care is a recipe for disaster if some crazy gets ahold of a pathogen and decides to drop it in the middle of a compromised population...then we all may wind up in trouble because some folks want to be snobs.
Some folks think "oh, that could never happen to me".
Yes it can.
Believe me, IT CAN.

WTF! Unbelievable, I don't see anything wrong with the group food not bombs feeding the homeless. The group isn't even committing any serious or violent crime. They are just peacefully feeding hungry people in our country who our government should be protecting. Yet, the group food not bombs get arrested by officers for feeding the hungry. Don't these officers have better things to do then arresting a organization for feeding the hungry in a big city such as Orlando. Officers should help promote civil welfare not work against it. The group is doing nothing wrong, it is just like a picnic in the park. Good grief. The NWO has succeeded in turning our own public servants into mindless drones against us. Time to rebel and take offense.

6 more activist arrested in Orlando for Sharing food with the hungry. 2 young children are being served as close to 20 police officers swarm in and arrest the food servers. This brings to total number of arrest for this horrendous crime up to 21 people within a two week time period!

Despite new restrictions on homeless feedings in Orlando, the group Food Not Bombs says it is still committed to handing out food.

The will put the homeless in ghettos soon.
so they dont make the streets look a mess.
and in the ghettos, if they die hungry!
not there problem.
they should have a job.
if the could get past the guards.
they could make them work for food?

sometimes I feel like wearing two katanas, while this is going on, and say "I am here to protect those that are going to be arrested for doing a good service."

Man, do these policemen have a backbone? NO! They don't, they are the corrupt government pigs that rather see a child suffer than their paycheck suffer.

Whoever is telling these men to do this, must pay for his/her crimes.

I sent my comments to the Mayor... we'll see if I get a reply.

This is a disgusting use of police force. And yes those pigs should have a damn backbone and know when an order is wrong!

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Seems that FNB is taking Republican President Eisenhower's famous 1953 quote above to heart by distributing free food while "protesting war and poverty", as quoted on their website.

From the Olando FNB website

"We act...

Because Food is a Right not a privilege!
Because there is enough Food for Everyone!
Because Scarcity is a Lie!
Because Food grows on Trees!
Because Poverty is Violence – unnecessary and unnatural!
Because Capitalism makes food a source of Profit not a source of nutrition!
Because we need Community not Control!
Because we need Gardens not Lawns!
Because we need Homes not Jails!
Because we need

Food Not Bombs!!"

I'll bet their credo rather than distributing free food has more to do with the reason for passing a law .

"When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist." Dom Helder.

The rest of Pres Eisenhower's quote, "This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its labourers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." With all the talk of what a deficit will do for our children and grandchildren, we hear barely a whisper of how we have spent ourselves into debt with unfunded wars. Instead of creating a 21st century energy program, our scientific genius was placed elsewhere. And our laborers?....who cared for American laborers?

God rest your soul, General Eisenhower, because the nation you once lead has long ago lost its soul.

If more and more people show up then it will be a barometer for what is truly going on in our country. My sister in Maryland has been feeding the poor in her community for over 24 years. Her daughter started helping her when she was six and is now following in her mother's footsteps and feeding the poor in her community.

My sister used to get a small help contribution from the church each week of fifty dollars which didn't come close to covering the cost of the meals that she prepares but it did help with the gas. Several months ago their church got a new pastor and he informed her that the church would no longer be contributing to her project. She was stunned but she continues to feed the poor strictly from her own pocket.

The amount of people that show up for the meals varies but never have there been surge in numbers the way that you infer. Holidays are the times of the greatest increase in numbers but she factors in for that.

I don't think people show up for free meals unless they really need them. During the depression my grandmother used to feed the needy from her back porch. No one came but those that were hungry. Things really have not changed that much.

The Keepers of the Current System have redefined the meanings of words.

Socialism, society, now means take from one and give to another.
Communism, community, now means take from one and give to another.

The people who have the majority of all wealth dislike the concept of taking from one and giving to another (sharing) unless of course we are talking about their corporate welfare checks which take many forms several of which are corporate/financial tax shelters/incentives and the military industrial complex entirely.

Only in this Illusionary Capitolistic/free market fiat matrix could such a farce be perpetuated for so long/indefinately. No suprise that they rally against anything even remotely more fair and balanced then the current system.

Thus some otherwise "smart" people are incapable of seeing through their Red, White and Blue eyes beyond their inherited antisocialistic noses ...

In STREET talk this means "you being played player" and "I am molesting your mind as I speak, can you feel that? ugh!"

No surprise that the wealthy have only gotten wealthier while the rest have suffered the "second great depression" and now the calls go out for AUSTERITY, of course...

Ah yer not listening but maybe this will get your attention...

I will show you where the Organic Constitution was shelved and a new Corporate Charter Constitution took its place:

Vote? DIEBOLD ESS VOTER FRAUD.......... hi yah!!!

Thats like a Straight Jab that I have seen many times before.
Gonna have to find some new moves Mr Smith...

What Democracy?
Which Constitution?
What Representation?

Liars and the people who believe them...

Did the people of Orlando Vote for this? I doubt it and it will probably not be put to a full vote and if so all they gotta do is flick the diebold ess switch and walla!!!

So you think George Soros giving $1mil to Prop 420 and then it floundering at the polls was rather strange do you?

Just a sidenote yet in the same vein as all the other drugs...

Follow me yet?
I know they seem smart and many of them are yet they are still in stages of shock, denial and rationalization.

They cannot handle the pain of believing that the Republic is dead thus they pretend it is still alive even though a few will admit that it may be a form of lifesupport only....

The pain in the initial understanding that what those brave people fought and gave all for... the great idea, the shining example... the Grand Experiment, for the most part, has failed.

They want to believe that their vote counts and that it is one way that they feel some power over this world.

Pity them, help them move on if you can yet do not let them pull your mind into their self imposed prisons.

When they see stories like this they turn into blue breasted rules lawyers who quickly search the entire legal history for some precedence to justify whatever current tyranny is being imposed upon the people for the supposed benefit and safety of the people.

"The food might be spoiled"
"The helpers might be child molesters, rapists and murderers"
"A crowd might form and be disruptive/unsafe"
while in reality...
"We might not have any more food thieves to arrest and fill our jails with!!!"
"Maybe if these people get desperate enough they will sell some crack for food and then we can bust them!!!"

Yadda yadda...

These are those who possess only half of the gift...

They possess anger yet lack direction...

"O lanoo, a second to see, an eternity to believe"

How long as helping one's fellow human been a crime there and if it has been a while, why is attention only being called to it now? I wish I were there, I'd fight that crap! So do they just swoop down upon any person giving food to another - do they must automatically assume that the recipient is homeless? If I were there, and I if were to share some kind of delicious cake with a friend, would I be arrested weren't dressed in their very best of clothes?

It is bizarre how this is happening. It will obviously have very negative repercussions, so I am at a loss as to how this is permitted to occur. How do the homeless eat? Must they demean themselves and beg for change rather than be fed by kindness and goodwill? Are there such things as free soup kitchens there?

In Soviet Union feeding homeless was a criminal act. In fact, being homeless was a criminal act.

They will get it all from you. It is a big club and you are not in it... the table is tilted, the game is rigged...

But, he could, because a "crime" isnt just a "you re not allowed to"-situation but a clearly defined action of harming somebody else, approach the feeders and kindly ask them to leave, instead of enforcing an inhumane law... or ask them to move to a non public place if that bothered him so much....

Not every law makes sense, is just, and has to be enforced... laws are only there to create revenue for the state, nothing else... feeding another person with your own food is a crime???? Well... then go ahead,... shoot me then... a cop is a human being in the first place with hopefully some reason... a "folks could you move along please and do that somewhere else?" would have been suffice
