Why did he take the investigation of the Bush administration off the table?

Why didn't he stop the war in Iraq and bring our troops home when he took office?

Why didn't he close Gitmo?

He's spineless. He decided to cater to his buddies in power and play politics instead of doing what's right. He's immoral, and has lied so much that I can't wait to watch him get ripped to shreds at the presidential debates.

For all those times he voted"present" while in the Senate; think about the effect his twisted socialist leaning politics could have had, had he actually weighed in and influenced any of those decisions.

For proving just how close the two parties are to one (ineffective) cluster "Fk"...

For embarrassing that face lifted Nancy Pelosi by causing her to actually have to utter the words: " Well "titter"(smirk),We have to pass the bill to tell you whats' in it." In a national forum.

For proving installing a black politician in office doesn't reduce "racism" ;it exacerbates it,and clouds the political process as opposition to any policy ( seemingly) becomes attributed to race first.

For exposing just how shallow, vindictive and foul mouthed the supposedly educated elitist left can be.

I would like to thank him for proving to me that a good PR team and wide immacualte smile can fool the world into placing their trust in what turned out to be nothing but a stuffed suit...

Mr. Obama, thank you for bringing Marxism into the mainstream and exposing Liberalism and Progressivism for the cancer that they really are, and thank you for waking up the sleeping giant that is the American people. Someone had to do it before things could get better, because we were asleep at the wheel before you came along.

The title pretty much sums up what it is that I would like for each of you to contribute to this thread. If you are not able to hold your tongue and wish to go off on a rant, please take it elsewhere, otherwise, please honor the rules of decorum and just post your answer.

I do not wish for this to become a thread of debates, just simple answers will do. I am quite curious as to the answers to this question, "What has Obama done that you, as an individual, would thank him for?"

I would like to thank Obama for energizing the conservative base beyond imagination and for his assistance in forming the Tea Party. I would also like to congratulate obama on his stimulus of 2nd ammendment supporters and increase of firearms sales accross America. Thanks for opening so many eyes to your political thuggery and apologist, corrupt, administration, as well as the democratic communist agenda.

I would like to thank Obama for finally taking our great country off the edge of rationality to the absurd. I would also like to express my gratitude for the twenty years he sat in church with Mr. Wright and being a student of his to carry on the of " We black folk are still being oppressed by the white man" And for the trifecta, I would like to thank him for hurting all the innocent hardworking, bill paying, and the proud people of these Great United States of America for the great Hope and Change he promised. I do have to omit he certainly did do a bang up job on the CHANGE.

Thank you Obama for... not stopping the patriot act

I was thinking about this, and there was really not much he could do.

First of all, the senate (largely bought and paid for through campaign financing and gifts) are the ones that voted that this bill be renewed, so its them you should be directing your frustration at.

Second, there is a good chance that a senator from your state was one of the individuals who voted for it to be renewed, but I imagine you haven't even looked into or spoken out about that; its much easier to just blame everything on Obama.

Thirdly, Obama did have the option of vetoing it, however, after it passed the senate, doing so would be seen as going against the wishes of the American people.

Fourthly, if he did veto it, and for whatever reason another terrorist attack happened in the months after, it would completely destroy his credibility and reputation as a politician and an individual.

Finally, he did sign the bill, however, he made a point of doing it not in person, but with a robotic machine that signs his signature when he is not available to do it himself. This could be seen as an unfortunate necessity as he was out of the country at the time, or it be seen as a silent protest to renewing a bill that he did not agree with.

Affecting change as the president is not as easy as some would like to make it out to be. Perhaps it is our responsibility as Americans to take some accountability for what goes on in this country.

The only thing I would thank him for is being the first black president. The only reason that is, people can stop complaining about "the man" holdin' them down. Can't say that anymore. Just too bad it wasn't Michelle Obama that won, then the ladies couldn't complain either. lol

Obama inherited a messed up economy- days after he was elected, and a few days before he took office, he met with George Bush to discuss passing bills to support the banks before they collapsed. So, as much as people like to point the finger, his actions was the default-action of whatever President would have sat in that chair. Plus, he, nor even his party, are not responsible for 90 percent of the debt the USA has.

If you want to make a difference, vote as independent as you can get. A party who is least likely to be funded and supported by the banks and corporations (and even then its not a promise). Otherwise, you will have the idiots pointing the finger forgetting what their president and party did last term, and the whiners who think their party will ever make a difference.

Thank you, Obama, for changing the definition of 'racist' from it's original meaning to NOW mean:

"anyone who isn't one of your followers".

We are all now clear on that here in post-racist America.

Thanks again.

I would like to thank him for proving beyond a shadow of any doubt that international interests and a select group of individuals fund and manipulate into positions of power selected groomed purchaseable puppets such as himself, and have done so with great success for at least the last 20 years.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, for continuing Bush's objective of exterminating human beings from the Middle East. They were standing on our oil.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, for not destroying the Patriot Act every time you had a chance. My 78 year old, 100lb neighbor might be a terrorist.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, for keeping Social Security at the status quo. It's good to know that when I retire I'll know that the money you saved for me was money well spent. All $2 of it.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, for spreading the wealth. I care how much rich people make and want to get my fair share of what they worked hard for.

Those are just the tip of the iceberg.

Again, thank you.
