the biggest is the total blackout in Malaysia

funny you made this thread, here in ireland the power went out in two different counties at the same time, from my town to about 50 miles away(where power station is), including other towns and villages.
happened last monday the 9th may

was strange as this never really happens here, only local maybe a half town or most a whole town.

There was a thread earlier about something crashing into the sun and then it had been taken offline (the soho images not the thread, i think). I still cant find the thread yet, but there wasn't much info to go off of anyway since the images were removed

I'm waiting for some of our resident CME, SOHO experts to chime in.
As mentioned before, something hit the sun a couple days ago so
I'm thinking solar flare, maybe?

I live in Chile and we had a huge power outage.....extended from Santiago, which is the capital, all the way to Coquimbo....which is a city roughly about 489 kilometers away!!! That is a huge one if you ask me!

This outage lasted about 8 hours. The excuse was that there was a faulty cable.

Great explanation! It almost seems that they made the story up just to shut us up!
