They just said a 6.4 aftershock hit.

*VIA CNN, It was mentioned quickly but not talked about again.

why are buildings on fire? Is that from the earthquake?

I think the CNN commentator misspoke about the aftershock because he hasn't mentioned it again.

at least Japan was prepared. Other than the west coast we here in the US are not

it looks like as our binary star gets closer more earth changes will occur...

They just confirmed it is an 8.9 and the aftershock was 6.4

I always monitor Japan, because as few of you may know, I have a long standing prediction that the next 8+ will be in Japan.

Heck I always monitor everywhere in the ring of fire pretty much.

Hollywood has nothing on Mother Nature.

It doesn't even look close to CGI, it is just there, in your face. Probably one of the craziest things I've see on TV.

Call your loved ones if they are in the path of of the tsunami. Just in tears. There could well be beyond imaginable loss of life.

Is there a live feed or any real time news on this? I dont even have fricking Cable TV anymore but want to know whats happening I am so sorry for the people who are in this moment in peril.

Oops, I just realized the person above me posted already, my mistake.

Well, I mentioned before that Japan has been lucking out so far, and now that I see the map of these quakes, it is looking like the subduction zone may have given way. This is nuts. Look at this:

When I saw the first 4.5 on the OTHER side of the zone from several days ago, it showed that there was activity on both sides of the zone. I mentioned it in this thread.

Uhm I just recently heard on Al Jazeera that the Pacific plate is giving way, sliding into two other plates. Not sure on the specifics. Sorry.

Maybe it has something to do with a subbduction zone?
