I recently made a thread about NWO uses of gelatin, and it somehow opened a whole can of worms about nutrition.
www.abovetopsecret.com...
To summarize my questions:
- how long could a human survive only on potatoes?
- how long could a human survive only on meat?
- are current low-carb diets suitable for children?
- does survival testimony always support "modern nutritional science"?
Often the survivors' narratives are very different from what what we are told humans need to survive.

The most essential item is fat.
You have about 90 days b4 your body self cannibalizes.
Alot of animals have lean muscle and little fat (if you can get one)
Eating only lean meat can lead to protein poisoning.

Starches are found in the wild fairly easily, fat isn't as easy to find and as i haven't done it yet,I am not too sure how to store it for future use.

A hunk of fat and a few bones makes agood enough soup for nutritional needs.

Just reading your other thread and this one I have to add to this.

Years ago, those meat-and-potato diets contributed to our less lively lifespan.
150 years ago...What was the average lifespan 35 years? (or so)
Whereas now we have entirely different diets, we live alot longer than years gone by. (75+ years)

I believe that if we had a more simplistic diet, our lifespan would decrease.
Maybe the reasoning behind our longer lifespans is our diet.

Just a thought.

An animal and all it's organs including brains and liver provides every nutrient a human being needs. Just look at the Eskimos.

Eskimos also had alot of fat and blubber which they used for many purposes.

Not sure I agree.
People who survived prison and concentration camps survived unscathed.
Not only that, but they say Europe was at its healthiest when food rationing was around.
Apparently WE are the first generation without civilian war that will be outlived by its parents, due to protein and calorie overload.

Slim Jims, Pringles, Peanut Butter.
Unopened, they will last for a very long time without going bad in virtually any climate. Between the three you have high protein, high fat content which is important, and carbohydrates.

Honestly, that is my answer to everything.

You: "What time is the show on tonight?"
Me: "GUINNESS"

You: "What color should I dye my hair?"
ME: "GUINNESS"

You: "If you could date any person in the world, who would it be?"
ME: "VIDA GUERRA"

Okay, maybe not everything, but a lot of stuff...

Don't forget Vitamin C, D, E, and B12.

Protein and Carb's are only good for so long. Scurvy anyone??

Wait...maybe I am getting this wrong.
But prison camps were only for years...not thousands of years.
Humans life spans have increased due to a drastic change in our diet.
From just meat and potatoes.

Maybe I am not getting the original thoughts of this thread correct.
My apologies.

I read some where that Bananas have the correct amount of vitamins and minerals for mans metabolism and that we could live solely on just eating them. Anyone feel like starting a banana farm?

Good points.
However, potatoes do have Vitamin C, hence their introduction aided the post-scurvy period.
So at least scurvy is one thing you cannot get on a potato diet.

I suppose Captain Cook had to lash his men into eating Sauerkraut.
The humble distribution of potatoes at that point would have spared them much pain.

I don't know about potatoes, but I plan on using brown rice and white beans for lunch and dinner, and whole oats with honey and cinnamon for breakfast in a survival situation. Pretty sure those few things will suffice for a few months and it's relatively cheap.

I think avocado's are the perfect food and you can live forever on them. Its the only fruit (fruit right?) that I've seen dogs and cats chow down on like it was meat.

This guy ate nothing but 20 pototoes a day for 2 months , no butter or toppings or any other kind of food, or so he says.

Can humans survive on any single food? A whale or other marine mammal might do the trick. Some Inuit have survived long periods entirely on meat, attaining vitamin C in muktuk, the skin and blubber of whales.
Surprisingly, potatoes offer a complete protein if you eat enough, over 10 per day. But you would ultimately encounter deficiencies in vitamins A, B12 and E, and calcium and selenium if you keep to just potatoes.
Potatoes are slightly toxic, too. The poison is in the stem and leaves, but trace amounts can be in greenish spots on the potato itself and can cause serious illness if you eat enough.
In eating any single vegetable, you are sacrificing nutrients. Soybeans, chickpeas, lentils, or carrots also provide a good range of nutrients.

Avocados - I've heard about Rastas living in a cave surviving only on avocados.
However, now we an overflow of dark, round avos, which are supposedly the European preference.
Similarly we export our "tough calamari" (that snaps back into your face), whereas we get the softer version preferred locally "imported" back.

Technically I think avocado is a nut?
