"Unauthorized disclosures of classified documents (whether in print, on a blog or on websites) do not alter the documents' classified status or automatically result in declassification of the documents," the OMB said.

"To the contrary, classified information, whether or not already posted on public websites or disclosed to the media, remains classified, and must be treated as such by federal employees and contractors, until it is declassified by an appropriate US government authority."

So we all knew that eventually it would come to this. It was just a matter of time. All federal employees and that includes our military can no longer view wikileaks information, including on ATS. So if you are reading this, and are an employee of the federal government you are hereby notified on authority of the White House that if you click some link and view some of the classified information being leaked, whether on ATS or a newspaper, or through any other source you are in violation of the law. By the way, do not turn on the news channels or read the paper anymore either because they are repeating the leaks there. Just be a good employee of the government and do as you are told. I smell a class action First Amendment claim for all government employees.

While this is sad at a human level the reality is this country is 'read-only'.

The people are disenfranchised and have no hope left.

An uprising would end with the next reality show or iPhone release.

How many travesties are required prior to becoming a patriot in the truest sense?

It's not "okay" for civilians to view it. That was only the first step. The next step is to make it illegal for civilians also.

You are probably right it is a scare tactic. They probably know that troop morale will suffer if they read what is coming down the pipe. The reactions by the Whitehouse seem overly done and the information released so far is not that damaging. It is appalling but not damaging yet. Maybe they know what is in these files that are being released.

WOW, this is going to go over well with the general population. The White House just sank up to the lips in that brown smelly stuff on this idiocy.

Your spouse and kids can read the stuff but YOU, a federal employee can't

Add that to the hypocrisy of insisting on grope-N-fly for citisens but taking Arizona AND a rancher (now murdered) to court for trying to protect our borders.

Arizona rancher murdered by illegal immigrant

"Three days ago, Napolitano told an audience at Arizona State University that the border is more secure than ever," said Tancredo. "I challenge her-no I dare her to come to this community and try to sell that lie. The residents here know better."

... The Arizona rancher waged a 10-year battle against thousands of illegal immigrants who crossed into the country and onto his property. When Barrett stopped 16 Mexican Nationals at gunpoint on his land, the ACLU stepped in and brought a civil rights lawsuit against the Arizona rancher.

Local law enforcement officers refer to Barrett’s ranch as the “avenue of choice” for illegal immigrants to enter America illegally. Barrett put up with property damage, death of livestock and numerous home invasions.

The ACLU claimed in the lawsuit against Barrett that he inflicted emotional distress by holding the migrants at gunpoint, threatening to turn his dog loose and shooting anyone who attempted to escape.

The Arizona rancher lost his case....

"If the people ever find out what we have done, they will chase us down the streets and lynch us.”- George H. W. Bush

I guess they are now worried about their own people too, will EVERYONE be on the terrorist watch list (snicker)

I agree seekeroftruth101. It is time to open the books. We all understand nobody is perfect and people make mistakes. It is time to look at the flaws of our system. To think about how it could be better. To move forward in a better direction. Trying to stop the flow of information simply to hide the errors has become the ultimate corrupt act and has been occurring for decades. It is what brings nations to their knees and empowers the population to institute reforms. The corrupt are only making matters worse by standing in the way of human evolution and understanding. They are trying to keep us in the dark and hoping we continue to trust them.
