Manual on How to Molest Children Is Legal, Cops Say

abcnews.go.com

A thick manual instructing attackers on how to molest children is legal, say Florida cops...
The manual, which was apparently written by someone who calls himself "the mule," is a how-to of child molestation, even explaining where and how to find potential victims, the station reported.

I'm horrified by the juxtaposition here.

Banning the book/manual would set an unacceptable precedent.

Allow 'how to' manuals on child molestation? Even more unacceptable.

Where's the answer?
I mean, when are lawmakers going to get to work and make crimes against children so sever people will think twice before producing something like this!

But we can't start it by banning books (manuals) either.

A *bleep* I'm back to the endless run around again! We ban that book - it opens for banning other books... Grrr!

Another point to add: The Detective states this 'manual' is 'down-loadable' on the internet.

Ah hell. So, there's another nail in the coffin of open internet...

Wow well thats shocking, How can it be legal? I just dont get that surely a manual like that would still be against some kind of law,
But i guess there saying "Fantasy" is not an act....

But im sure if they find this fella they may find enough other stuff on him, To write such a disgusting piece of crap then im sure he has some kind of dealing with children,

Hopefully they find this "mule" soon and prevent any terrible acts on children due to this sickening manual,

Gosh this kind of thing angers me so much...

So then books on how to be a terrorist should be legal and how to make bombs and nukes right? if this is legal the rest of it should be..

Oh and anti government material also eh?

I'm trying to find out how it's 'legal' but I'm hesitant to do the searches I need to as I do NOT want to be routed to any child porn.

Needless to say the article doesn't say much about the legalities, only that it is.

Maybe it's time to make a call to the 'cops' in question.

In fact I think I'll do just that - it's almost 0800 in Florida now...

Hi Silo, I was wondering when this would show up on ATS.

I can see where you are coming from, banning books is not good at all. News of this manual is shocking to say the least! If manuals/books of "how to" molest a child is banned, I'm all for it. Those who are so sick as to want to molest children or who already do, shouldn't have it so easy to endulge in their fantasies.

Thanks

Oh i know what you mean, I dont really want to search this one out either,

The only thing that makes me wonder here is the part where it says "cops say"

What about a Court of law....

That's my whole point and grounds of my frustration.

We ban can this kind of 'book' (*cough choke*) it opens the floodgates to ban the other 'good' material, like manuals/books, decrying the state of Fascism in the USA and around the world, etc.

See my point?

So the pedophiles are, once again, ruining it for everyone.

Surely, inciting a crime is a crime?

I hope they find the writer of this manual and prosecute him/her for soliciting others to commit crime.

Well, no luck there for now.

My Skype minutes have run out trying to get through to the correct number for Detective Phillip Graves.

I'll try again later unless some ATS'er who lives in the area wants to call from a local line.

But I'd honestly like to ask the Detective why this 'manual' is considered legal.
Get his take on it first hand.

I am simply shocked and and highly disturbed by this. I cannot comprehend how this could possibly be legal. I usually am strongly opposed to censorship, but if anything needs to be censored, then this is it.

I actually feel kinda sick!

You should watch road to tyrany from Alex Jones.. Yaya hes a crackpot now but then he wasnt as bad..

Anyway.. There is a clip in there that show this chick getting pulled over and she had some material in her car that was constitutionalist and anti government crap.. Needless to say she was arrested and charged but later let go..

That is why I added those things because someone something has happened that we dont know about..

Anyway I was saying that as if well if thats legal then everything else should be legal ya know?

I'm all for Civil Liberties and everything but, isn't there a place where we should draw the line?

I mean shouldn't our nations kids safety come before what the ACLU says?

I seem to have some time on my hands this morning, I'm on call but things seem to be quiet as usual for a Monday. I can make the call for you to ask the questions.
If you have anymore questions please let me know and I will be sure to ask them if I can get through to him.

Thanks

It's probably a bit like the Anarchists Cookbook, legal to own, but it's what you do with the content that makes the difference.

Still disgusting though.

Do we just blame the people who buy it, or the publishers that are sick enough to put it into print?

Even the Anarchists Cookbook ceased being published...

From Wiki...

The copyright of the book no longer belonged to its author, but to its publisher Lyle Stuart.[4] Lyle kept publishing the book until the company was bought in 1991 by Steven Schragis, who decided to drop it. Out of the 2000 books published by the company, it was the only one that Schragis decided to stop publishing. Schragis said that publishers have a responsibility to the public, and that the book had no positive social purpose that could justify keeping it in print.[10]

Source: en.wikipedia.org...

I just wish other publishers were as responsible.

Unfortunately nothing comes with only pro's, the con's of freedom of speech which this manual falls under involve people giving out their thoughts and ideas on subjects you may find distasteful and offensive!

Banning the book wouldn't solve anything, much like banning guns doesn't stop people killing each other.

One has to wonder though if things like this aren't actually government ploys in order to make it easier to pass yet another freedom killing law thanks to knee jerk reactions from the populace. I know if I was in power and I wanted to create a new law which under normal circumstances wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting passed I'd create a ruse which rallies the populace into supporting the law and thus result in it getting passed with ease!

ya know
I don't agree with publishing this type material
but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the manual
itself is a tracking program implemented on your
computer that allows LE to monitor your activities
and know exactly who you are. What better
way to find and track pedophiles than giving
them a manual to go by.

I mean seriously, only pedophiles will take an
interest and d/l this document. Can someone
say sting??? This story coming from a local
TV station instead of a national one gives
my theory more credibility.

When there is a child missing in an area,
LE just looks up in their data base of pedos
who have d/l this document. It gives LE
a much smaller pool of people to choose from
as suspects. It's a great idea on the part
of LE actually cuz it helps catch criminals.

Posting this story on local and national TV
is like a big billboard sign along the interstate.
Get your children here !!! Except it's a trap!!
If they don't approve of this, it would have been
buried and it def wouldn't been on national
news.

Heh...so the manual would be like :
Be sure to check out usual children's hang outs, like inside of prisons, and Chris Hansen's house.

But seriously, WHAT?! That is all kinds of wrong.

Yes, that was my thoughts..
But the Gov is quick to arrest people on suspicion of terrorism..
Also look at the "no fly list" Thats not freedom..

Hell, I saw a thread here about predictive crimes..
