Parent of two both grown up. How pathetic of you if you feel you have to use blackmail on your own children to get them to dance to your sick/demented little tune. Sad you never got close to your kids.

I never needed naked photos of my kids, so question stands.

You could just as well say "Why take photos of children at all?"
People want memories of their beautiful babies for when they're old and can't remember stuff, and a lot of the time you interact with babies, they're semi or totally naked. (Bath time, changing nappies, bed time etc.)

My parents have photos of me and my brother in our birthday suits, sat in the bath, running around naked in the front room and back yard, on the beach etc. There's nothing wrong with pictures of people in the nude. The wrongness is in people looking at those innocent photographs and seeing something sexual. But I've said it before, some people get turned on by donkeys, should that mean we shouldn't photograph those either? They're usually naked afterall!

My brother had his life almost destroyed by a false accusation from a girl who went to the after school club he worked in.
She said he'd raped her when she was nine, then after dragging him through the courts for six months, during which time he couldn't live with his wife and three children, the girl told the police that she'd made it all up! No repercusions for her, yet my brother lost two jobs and had death threats from a few people who'd heard about the accusation!
Now, almost five years later, he still suffers from depression brought on by the stress and fear of almost losing his family and facing a prison sentence for something he didn't even do!

i dont think its right at all, i work in a shop and some little kids came to buy some sweets. the children looked well to young to be out on their own so i went to approach them. but i thought better call a female member of staff to approach them because the parents might have the wrong idea.

i shouldnt feel this way about showing my inoccent affection to children. i am very fatherly and am wanting a kid with my parter at the moment.

i think it is a sick world we live in when i feel cant approch a child without someone thinking i have a sexual motive.

just one more case of the sick twisted minority making the majority look bad.

I'm calling you out on this one. Perjury is a crime punishable by prison. You brother could havr sued her for libel, slander and defamation of character. He could have also sued his jobs for lost wages and false termination because he was never declared guilty.. Do you have any news articles or any documentation that proves this?

The dad in the story is an idiot if he expected nothing to come of this. Bringing in a roll of film where children are naked and two grown men are drinking (maybe not at the exact same time as the children were naked, but how would the clerk know that?) is utterly moronic.

As for the people bashing the film developer for calling the police: think about it. I have been a photo tech for two years, so I suppose you could call me a "clerk" when in fact I have been trained to develop film and identify pictures that could be of illegal activity. Now I've seen plenty of naked baby pictures in my day, and I have never called the authorities for any of them. But in this case, I might have. As I said, two grown men drinking in the woods with naked kids is OBVIOUSLY going to arouse suspicion. And if you think about it, its a tough decision we "photo clerks" have to make. We potentially have these kids lives in our hands. How awful would I feel if I developed these pictures and ignored them, only to discover that the father had been molesting his children? And I could have done something about it? Yeah, I'd feel awful if I made the dad's life awful, but I sure as hell think children come first, and this father was an idiot.

Maybe back in the "good ole days" people didn't report this type of thing as much, simply because child molestation was less discussed. With the use of the net we have greater access to stories across the nation, and its obvious that child molestation is prevalent. I'll admit that I have heard some stories that are just downright stupid (reporting a baby in a bathtub with his squeaky toy, etc.) but this father was stupid. And eight years old?!? Come on, that is WAY too old to take "naked baby pictures"!!! I think over three years old is getting too old to take naked baby pictures. My niece is three and she knows that "privates are privates" and shoos my sister and I out when she goes to use the bathroom lol.

Yes being naked and free is natural for children and they are innocent and don't know any better. But what if there had been a pedophile at the campground? Use better sense and protect your children. Sickos are everywhere.

I have to say that the man in the story is a better person than me. Because I would of beat the living hell out of that photo lab person.

No news clippings as it didn't get into the news thankfully, and the girl in question was 14 at the time. She'll be about 19 now though.
I don't think he even thought about sueing his old work places what with being stressed enough already.

what the guy did was forget to turn his brain on before opening his mouth, a common enough fault with most of us, it's just that usually it dosn't ruin a family's life which in this case I think is unforgivable. Especially when it sounds like it was blinding obvious that it wasn't porn, better education for all is needed

Having read the story it seems to say the clerk was concerned as the pictures included a naked 8 year old girl, and naked children with alcohol.

Although doubtless this was entirely innocent (hopefully), I'd be careful of standing in too much judgement if the person thought they should report this - it's hardly baby in the bath is it?

I have to admit that you have to be rediculously careful in this day and age not to be seen in the wrong light. I refuse to even bath my 2 year old daughter in case it's viewed in the wrong light. We do have a couple of nudy shots of her toddling around the living room during a nappy change, but they were taken by my wife and they are digital anyway, so nobody ever gets to see them.

We, my wife and I, have alse decided that if we have a boy in the future, I would bath and change him, just in case.

How pathetic is it that for fear of persecution in the modern day witch hunt for paedos, I have to refrain from bathing my own child. I've even had to stop sleeping in the nude in case she decides to crawl into bed with us, which was difficult, as I haven't worn clothes to bed since I was about 14!

There really needs to be some sort of filter mechanism put in place to determine appropriate nudity/contact and inappropriate.

Also, in opposition to my above post, I recall going to see a friend of mine a few months ago, a single mother with a couple of young kids, a boy and a girl. The girl come running into the kitchen, where we were talking with nothing on below the waist (why the hell do kids just strip off for no reason?). Her mother picked her up and playfully pinched ber butt cheek and in complete innocence said to me, "Feel how soft that is, my gorgeous daughter's got a sexy ass, she's gonna break some hearts when she's older, go on, have a feel". I actually had to explain to her that, no, I wasn't going to feel her daughter's ass, as it could be viewed as inappropriate and she really should be careful who she says stuff like that around.

She couldn't understand why I was being so careful

first off im sorry to have to deal with neighbors like that. its so stupid . who the hell has sex on the front lawn right there should have tipped them off it was a fake story. its not like we walk down the street passing house with people having sex it just doesn't happen. there just making a stink cause your gay . i bet the family down the street with a married women and man with kids playing in the sprinkler the day before nothing was said about them. you out side with no shirt and your daughter outside with a bathing suit is no different then a straight man doing the same thing.
i had childrens aid on my back when my friend and i lived together and cause she was doing drug and the ordeal of that i vowed never ever to call on anyone. never. i dont wish children aid workers on any. i think we should send all the social workers to africa or india .
