Ugh, stuff like that makes me angry.

I'd much rather be (falsely!) accused of murder than to be (falsely!) accused of abusing/assaulting a child!

People can come back from an incorrect murder accusation.

There's NO coming back from an incorrect child sex/abuse accusation. Your life is effectively over

this is getting crazy the way they are acting with our children. first off did you know once you sign a birth certificate form for your child it then belongs to the government not you. look it up. i think taking photo of a baby naked is a good think what if the child is kidnapped then a marking or a belly button or something could be identified . people keep taking picture of your babies in the tub as a mom we know how cute they are splashing around just use a a digital camera and do not post them on the net.
okay another thing clothing is something we as mammals are not suppose to have hello people do other mammal or any other creature on this planet wear cloths NO. society has told us to wear them those government and controlling again.
we better start waking the dead cause our great grandparents took nude photos of our grand parents and our parents so we better start charging all the dead people out there as well. there are common sense rules when taking nude pictures of our babies.

1. don't show there area
2. don't take them beyond 2or 3 year old
3. don't have any other person in the photo
4. don't allow the government to control your child raising
5. don't post them on the internet
6. don't develop them at a store use polarid or digital.

what about all those nudest out there running around naked with there children why aren't they under investigation?
i don't know on issues like this i don't know what worse the western world or the 3rd world at least they are free to raise there children as they see fit. we can not. i have friends from Africa and they all say the second they get pregnant they are moving back there cause they do not want to raise there children with all the rules and the government control how we raise our kids. in Africa they say they can raise how they want. and no there not all poor like you see in the stupid tv commercial (by the way don't ever give money to those thing the kids never see the money but that another story) they are rich people i am talking about with big homes and business over there there parents travel back and forth.
moms dads , future moms and dads just love your kids and dont put up with the government telling you how to raise your kids

Unfortunately, people jump to the wrong conclusions too quickly. My mother-in-law had been Children & Youth for our local County in PA for a while. She had one of those "grandson in the bathtub" shots of his butt in the summer time to show off his tan; she had it on her cell phone.

I reminded her that she should delete it, and not keep it in there, so she wouldn't be in trouble for an innocent image on her cell phone of her grandson, especially since she was "kid police" as I called her.

Things do get taken out of context quite a bit, and it's quite sad for the innocent images and the like, but in the end, it does protect some of the children from the harsh treatment that they don't deserve.

I agree that they should have better definition in the laws and have better training for those that are put in the position to make that "judgment call"

Yes, there is always the lawsuit after the damage is done! How about not letting a warrant-less agency operate in peoples homes.

If you are seriously interested in where this leads, the implications of it's use, etc, take some time, and start doing some searches.

You will find that this is one of the premier tools of shutting down whistle-blowers in the USA.

Get on the wrong side of certain government agencies, or big business, and do NOT have access to large sums of money, you may end up, "somehow", with somebody finding child pornography on one of you computers.

It's the ultimate leverage. It's the ultimate destroyer. Easy to rig, hard to defend. And the laws are so flexible and vague, it takes next to nothing to get accused and investigated.

"Magic Bullet". Just point at the target, and click. Let the law do the rest...

Poor Choices? "A lot of poor choices were made...not that a poor choice means families should be subjected to this ordeal...but still. A lot of poor choices. Innocence is one thing. Stupidity is another." What poor choices would those be? Having childern, and taking their pictures? The problem is people like you, who literally ruin the lives of others because of basic stupidity or evil intent, it's hard to tell which. Nothing the letter writer wrote is a poor choice, nor is anything he did stupid. Children go around naked. There is nothing wrong with this. That you, and some sick freak at a photo lab, can't understand the difference between a father taking a picture of his daughter swimmming and actual child porn is disgusting. Society is being ruined because people, in the name of caution, have thrown all reasonablness out the window. Naked child breast feeding because sexual stimulation. Child with plastic toy keychain in the shape of a science fiction gun becomes a criminal who intended to kill everyone.

agreed with this comment there: usually, human judges others through glass of the own mental troubles.

You’ve really rattled a few cages on this one including mine
If you take photos of naked kids what do you expect? How do the people developing the photos know that they are yours? How would you feel if those photos of your kids were from someone else – even your uncle? I am sure you are just very naïve but here are facts – 1 in 10 kids are abused and it is usually from the close family (my wife worked at Relate a counselling service in the UK – the statistics are true and quote frankly obscene).
This is taken seriously in the UK (and by the sounds of it US) – so various departments would be tasked to look at this. I have great faith that most departments e.g. Police, Social Service can spot a paedophile from a mile off and although you may have conversations with various people/departments – they will see you for what you are [again I deal with kids in my pastime and the police I come into contact are usually great family people first then police officers].
I come back to this point – if the photos were posted from a relative how would you feel – probably very greatful that so many people have investigated. And why do we live in this sort of society .. because there are real sick perverts out there, and any anger should be directed at them.

I've suspected that for a while now. Isn't it amazing how many people are being done for having child porn on their computers all of a sudden? It always seems to be found by the police AFTER having their computer seized on some trumped up charge too.

Do you think it's a coincidence that this all seemed to start after the whole Gary Glitter scandal? They saw how that destroyed him and recognised a powerful weapon to use to discredit and demonise anyone they decide is standing in their way. Believe me, the time of the paedophile witch hunts is just beginning.

Huh, should have made a thread about that little theory...
