To try and sum up this whole debacle nice and neat...
The story is true so far, there are have been various reports with conflicting information, but for the most part they all have the same general story - the airport received word from a pilot that there was something that shouldn't be there in the air space, the ATC redirected traffic and grounded flights based off of this and possibly something popping up on the radar (this bit could be considered unconfirmed, due to it only appearing in a few of the news reports).
The images that have been associated with this event are so far inconclusive as to actually pertaining to the incident at the airport - not necessarily hoaxes, just images that are not related to the incident, more likely than not just news agencies grabbing any image they could find to slap on their headline to catch the eye, which is normal.
Nothing has officially been released as of yet from China since the original reports, and it appears that whatever happened is going to stay under wraps judging from the lack of updates.
I hope this helps in some way, shape or form.

China Eastern Airlines rallied 5.6%, China Southern Airlines climbed 4.1% and Air China gained 3.9%. According to Bloomberg, three-star rated Air China has big plans to improve the passenger experience, including making the seats more comfortable and the planes cleaner -- all this in a See full article from DailyFinance: srph.it...

Some media had reported that a fan shaped white light UFO was spotted in Urumqi, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Song Huagang, secretary general of Xingjiang Astronomy Society had later said that the UFO was later identified as debris from an intercontinental missile launched by US.—INP

surge means to go up, ie profit.
Also the sign probably means that people have invested or what I think showing off that their profits have risen ie being compared to us airlines
or someone invested very highly into the company

or perhaps the investor flew in my helicopter and had to have the airport shut due to hidden identity
