Follow the second link, there is a map with all the possible computer models.

Yes, you are correct, it is difficult to predict, but they use about 10 different models, and then they map out an average proposed path, and then they make it wider and wider the further out their prediction goes. The current map has every single model putting it in the Gulf, but then it could flare off in any direction. It is VERY likely (90% +) that it will get into the Gulf, and it will probably head West, which means the NE Quadrant will be in the oil.

Now, nobody is saying it will definitely be a Hurricane, or even a named storm. Right now it is a disorganized band of Thunderstorms with a Low Pressure system associated with it, but the conditions are good for it to develop further.

Read the Links!

Computer models are a joke. I used to follow them but they aren't reliable.

Hurricanes are funny the only real thing you can do is watch and wait to see what it's going to do and put up the shutters when it's withing 100 miles.

the 1 2 3 mariners rule is probably the best indicator for dealing with hurricanes.

lets not forget that a large spill hapenned 31 years ago with the Ixtoch rig and i'm pretty sure that that mess made its way thru the gulf into a hurricane. none of the texans i know are deformed. Most of the people i know who have cancer are not from Texas...weird huh

Any tropical wave needs to be looked at closely. Although it may not form, the OP did a good thing by bringing it to our attention.

At this point it is at 20% probability, which is a good thing.

Very busy June though!

I say bring it on. Take all of mans stupidity and greed and dump it all back right on top of us. Maybe the world at large will do something about this mess when they see innocent american citizens covered in oil and struggling to breath. Hey...we're burning the oil covered sea turtles to death, right? And those suckers are endangered....cant wait to see what BP decides to do with all the oil covered southerners(who are NOT endangered...as long as two rednecks remain, and theres a Waffle House and a Trailer Park still standing,THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!)

Well, I live in the New Orleans area & survived Katrina. I have already decided that I will wait & see.

The biggest threat I see is oil coming inland via storm surge

Not oil raining down from the heavens.

As I am closer to Lake Pontchartrain than the gulf, My biggest fear will be storm surge contaminating the Lake. That would pretty much be a game over event for this area of Louisiana.

Should that happen, We are outta here & heading to Arizona. I'd rather support a state that will do what the Federal Government won't.

As far as any physical damage I may experience from fumes / oil residue, I am pretty sure that getting the heck outta here immediately afterwards & a bit of holistic / homeopathic / natural healing will be capable of reversing the damage.

I won't make that bet for prolonged exposure though

If I were in florida, here is what I would do.........
Firstly I would NOT leave my home. I know TEMPORARY evac would not be temporary....it would leave me displaced for years, and some one with big bucks would buy up my nice ocean front property while I am gone believing the story of it not being "safe" to come back.

also, if there were acid rain, who says chemtrails are not responsible in the near future to may some plants look like acid rain just to make a believable scare.

Land is wanted by those with the big bucks......Not mentioning any names here, but they are BIG corps.

Stand your ground and remember NOT to let anyone order you to leave everything you ever owned. If you believe them, they will take it all.

The no fly zone in the gulf area......they don't want folks to fly over there and see some of the lies that have been thrown. People need to get the REAL pics and the Real truth and let everyone know what the game is all about.

Beware of the scare tactics created to get you hyped up to the point you don't stop and think rationally.

I have a dear friend who told me some truthful things....he's never been wrong thus far, and I believe him over any media, puppet, and shill.

Do not blindly up and leave your homes and livelyhood so quickly. Remember, there are STILL thousands of people displaced years after Katrina.....I BET their porperty is already "OWNED" by someone else, that is why the folks are not allowed to EVER come back. New World Order. Please take the time to research into that. p l e a s e.

Learn the lesson from those folks from Katrina.....this is a second big event, stand your grounds, and mostly, KEEP YOUR LAND. IF by some chance you are forced (of course, rob at gunpoint) by Mandatory Evac, Be sure to take your home/property documents as proof of ownership. If you find later that someone took your land, get them legally....it should STILL your land whether it is cleaned up, gunked up or whatever.

Stand UNITED, do not be divided.

There is another post on here focusing on water temperatures in the gulf of mexico, and if this depression is only moving at 10mph, then if it hits a warmer than usual gulf at slow speed it would do what Katrina did, just sit there and feed of the heat, this could indeed be bad, I shall keep a close eye on this.

is a tropical wave the same as a tropical depression?
hurricane the same as cyclone??

I thought they where which makes is kind of funny really.
anyone else notice the change in wording???

as if they are afraid to use the word "hurricane", ect....

just struck me as funny when I first heard it on cnn, and I still find it rather odd...

If ya look at his Title IMHO it's just a scenario/wake-up call...

...something to really consider in the near future...hold out or move...

You mean a wake up call like the one the boy who cried "wolf" gave? I, for one, refuse to take any action based on lies. What is the agenda of the original poster? And yours too, since you seem to support his lies.

S&F

I was listening to the radio tonight on the way into work tonight and they had a specialist on saying that the oil could be extremely toxic. There are two different types apparently. The worst type, he stated, a single drop if placed on an egg is toxic enough to kill the creature within it. Makes you wonder what will happen if it gets caught up in a hurricane.

The stronger storms blow inward towards the Midwest. Think of all the people and crops this could affect.

i believe the poster had said the OP lies is because of the likely hood of Harricane Alex forming the weekend of June 26th...those chances are VERY low...

What the OP is refering to is just a tropical wave rightnow and will not even form into anything, if anything, for at least a couple more days maybe even next week...

There probably will be tropical developments but not this weekend and def nowhere near the oil spill this weekend...maybe in the future....

Plus all this doom and gloom probably won't happen since this "oil rain" talk is not possible since oil does not evaporate...and Hurricanes do not pick up the ocean water up to fuel itself....it uses the water vapor for heat and that's what produces the storms

I lived in odessa, and kilgore texas for ten years...
and well...
hate to say this, but quite often, there'd be oil mixed in with our rain...
if left it's mark on our van, along with just about everything else...
weather it evaporates, or whatever, I know that it some how magaged to accompany the raindrops as they fell to the ground.

could have been the wind ha since oil does not mix with water...maybe it was something else...

who knows, but i doutb that a hurricane will drop oil water...it didn't happen in 1979 when the hurricanes went through the oil filled waters and hit the texas coast

There it is my friends, proof that this thing is just another fear feedeing frenzy.

This is Odessa Texas, now i know we have a lot of scholars here but that is West Texas, right where the border lines come at a 90deg angle.

Well i'll be dipped if hurricanes didn't come thru there to dump toxic rains....

Stop fearmongering, if it can evaporate (which it will after breaking down with water over time, the oil will evaporate) then it is already too late. 63days too late.

The hurricane will just push the vapors further up north that's all.

Remember that a similar incident happened 31 years ago in the gulf, and 21years ago in Alaska. You ought to be really ignorant if you believe that this "Toxic Soup" never made in the sky before and that it needed a hurricane to doom us all...

the oil will evaporate at some point but in a very small form and the percentage is small.

But yes you're right oil won't just rain out of the sky. Which some people seem to believe the hurricane will just "pick up" oil and throw all the way up the east coast.

You know the OP was just giving a Heads Up to what will happen 100%.

it's not going to matter if it's this weekend or next or somewhere in August. Lets all remember the amount of oil!

Stick your head in the sand if you need too, but my money's betting on the fact that the Gov won't tell you how bad it's going to be until it's over.

I am on the Eastcoast of Canada and we too get the Hurricanes. Even if its a strong storm it's not going to matter as long as the storm is pushing towards the shoreline.

Close your eyes and hope.............then open them to reality my friends
