2012 is really the Y2k bug for 2015. My sources say 2015 for the peek of something major that needs to be prepared for. I talking about 1/3 of the world dead situation. Revelation of the Bible has that 1/3 of people dead event also.

I agree that is a growing sentiment of anger in this nation, board like this help vent some of that resentment.

But sometimes the anger is misguided toward the wrong people.

I expect ATS to keep its high level of monitoring to keep the board from becoming a hate haven for some.

So far the administration has done a great job.

On a lighter note, I think this change has been brought on by the demise of Mutter.

Understandable.

World events are getting closer and closer to home, I am guilty of going a tad overboard especially on the oil spill catastrophe, not because of the spill itself, but what it has begun to breed.

Its fine when we watch it on TV and it being someone else's problem, we have all done that, sure most of us feel a little twang of disgust or horror at what we are witnessing, but now its on the door step of a lot of us, and people want to vent, but the targets are wrong, I always thought that being like minded individuals that this site offered up answers to the problems of the World, how they effect us, and what we need to do about it.

Anger is building up in the vast majority of us, I lost it when I saw people standing on the Union Jack while protesting BP, I felt that it was becoming an attack on everything British, and just like people from other countries take offence when something is done to their flag, I became the same, and I apologise for that, it still does not alter the fact that we seem to be losing our way a little, and I thought we were better than that.

Steady would be the right word, I have become so confused as of late, we seem to be turning on each other when I thought we where supposed to be fighting and trying to prevent the situation from getting worse, bringing the information, discussing it, and dropping possible solutions as we went along.

Look at where recent events have taken us, have we fallen for the propaganda? have we fallen for what they expected us to do or react as they expected us too (TPTB) I really do believe we have and are, we are reacting to what is closest to our hearts and Families, we are turning on each other, and it really does need to stop before we destroy what we hold dear to us.

Many of us come and we post our words of wisdom, our opinions, and we forget why we share those words, if your honest you can only call it as you see it, what you have seen, give your insight on how you saw in your eyes the things which are effecting us all, it becomes hard to keep the personal anger from entering our opinions, but as I said, we are targeting the wrong people and taking it out on ourselves.

If we are to help anyone including ourselves, then we need to see the bigger picture, the way I see it not a single member here is responsible for the Woes of the World, we have a pretty good idea of who is, so lets get back to getting that information gathered and out to those who will listen.

Maybe it is time for that break away from this site I have been promising myself for a long time, it does make a difference when what you come and share is appreciated, but does anyone feel their contribution is any more?

I feel sometimes what I share is just waved away like some tripe, as unimportant which is fine, maybe I am just afraid that if anyone did take any notice, they would find a lot more truth and pointing to truth within what I try and share, I am no better than anyone else here, I keep my ear to the ground, I absorb, I witness, I share, I feel some sorrow, and sadness, I try and understand, I even try and imagine how I would cope if it was on my doorstep, terrible feelings sometimes.

Again I rattle on, so much to say and share, complete trash maybe, but it comes from a place so full of hope, am I dreaming?

ATS serves well as a barometer. It is good to learn how people feel about the issues we face in the world, locally and internationally.

The growing global awareness of the seemingly invisible enslavement of the nations and all humanity is not a comfortable transition for most. It is as an asault on the psyche.

Whilst it is important not to flame, to remain courteous toward and respectful of conflicting views, I would not like to see any distillation of the emotional honesty on this site. Insults and threats, of which I've experienced both, have not harmed me but reveal much about the aggressor and being able to make this distinction has helped me better understand the depth of feeling and utter conviction some hold, even if I disagree with them.

I do agree with all the bad things happening in the world and others in their "the government would never do that" crowd, seems only time the real issues are brought up are on posts here,so kind of nice to have a debate with someone who gives a care, although some times things get heated,so ATS becomes the playing field, did that make sense?

Timely words SO. From time to time I have to remind myself that there are REAL PEOPLE behind each and every response.
Like myself, I think they come here to find answers to our current problems as well as to keep track of new issues.
Fear has been the order of the day at least since 9/11 and to everyone who has managed to hang on to logic and reason I say Bravo!
We all have issues that we are passionate about and we should try to keep that in mind. Respect should be our #1 mantra with truth following close behind.
None of us are ever right all the time. Sometimes the answer we don;t like is the correct one.
May we all have the humility to overcome our own fear and prejudice.
It is only then that we can live up to the ATS motto, Deny Ignorance.

I will use the same ol' adage that I always use:

If you turned off the tv, and didn't read or watch the news and only went by what goes on in your community, is it really that bad?

Well Sir, I agree with you fully. These time we are in have been becoming quite stressful on us all. Nothing is as easy as it used to be 25 years ago, and the degradation of the social value is in my opinion, the cause. I have felt uneasy of the future since my early twenties and have watched the unravellings of "steady" since then. It appears unfortunate, that it will only get worse before it gets better.
The banter and debates here leave many with a short fuse, myself included. I must say though, I do enjoy the great minds that frequent this site. This is a place where one can visit to gain a more clear prospective view of global events, and typically before MSM talks about it. AS mentioned by ChadW. the approaching date of 2012 has many on edge alone. The stage, being created by years of warnings from MANY sources seems to be almost set. We will see. Then at the climax of that event, will "Steady" be the most important. Peace..and Cheers. Lil Drummerboy.

Anger may not be quelled. Fear may not be alleviated. Confusion may not be solved. Answers may not be found. But seeking to understand the cause of these feelings in others is a major step. It's what mature and civilized people do. The new breed of ATS members and users are capable of understanding. It's what "deny ignorance" means.

That is an excellent summation! I agree 100% with that statement. All too often people don't want to seek an understanding, they want to continue to yell at, or with, each other. Debate is needed with an open mind, and though sticking with one's dogmas is comfortable, we sometimes need to come out of our turtle shell and see the world for new ideas.

In these uncertain times comes a book I co-wrote, offering a solution to virtually all the ills. It includes my novella, The Abundance Paradigm, and much more, including the design for a free energy device.

The time's they are a changin'. That's as true today as it was in my Dad's youth, when Europe was cast into the dark of Nazism. Or when my great-, great-, several times great-grandparents immigrated here during the colonial period.

But as much as times change, there's another truth, too...

The sun'll come up tomorrow...

No matter how bad things seem to be, or how bad they might get, tomorrow's another day when things can get better.

Steady on, folks. This too shall pass...and sooner than we may believe.

Yes I wholeheartedly agree, lets stick to the evidence and not resort to personal attacks when there is a lack of counter evidence. I just wish people would stick to the subject at hand rather than trying to discredit and label posters as wacko or a favorite word they use DELUSIONAL as personal attacks. Lets try to stick to the thread subject and not resort to personal attacks when a poster may have a differing theory to your own. I tend to try and rise above these posters by not replying off topic as much as possible. How about a post filter with a keyword from the original OP's Thread....e.g Obama oil crisis........Any post not containing the key words Oil Crisis or Obama even just oil would not be able to post, the same in theory as the few words rule.
On the subject of theories, they are just that theory....this is another avenue thats ends up in the above mentioned friction, when people insist a theory is factual a personal pet hate of mine
.
I support everything the Overlord says in this thread, it's time to act like intelligent people and think before you post.

I'm steady - I'm plodding on - I'm hanging in there.

However, I can't vent. I can't show my real feelings about subjects - every time I do I get my post redacted, removed or generally classed as nasty or unwholesome.

I don't swear, I don't call people idiots or other ad hominem names. I do use adjectives and I do write in a combative style - and I do fall foul of moderators that don't know the difference between eviscerating someone or a subject with prose, and being out of order. Much of the time, I can tell which moderators (the ones who act on my posts) have been outside of the states, and just how old they are.

This frustrates the hell out of me.

Yes, sometimes they're right - but equally, I'd say about half the time, they're wrong. Times on ATS are indeed stressful, but this is compounded by the perceived toothlessness of admins in certain situations, the overzealousness in the wrong situations, and a complete lack of a 'negative outlet' on ATS. Nowhere, within the site is there a way to 'DOWN THUMB' or 'BAD STAR' or BITCHSLAP any of the more moronic members - and they ARE present.

Give us somewhere to let the 'bad feeling' pour out, somewhere padded and safe for the 'damage' that we want to inflict to be performed.

This isn't a complaint or rant about bad moderation - we don't have bad moderators here. This is a rant about the fact that people are committing heinous wrongs on this site - and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. Much of the time, reporting just DOESN'T work.

Parallex.

I think the ATS mods are getting soft on us. If people want to vent let them go to therapy, or an AA meeting. When people vent they go out of control, therefore, their ability to reason with is significantly decreased. Personally, that is why I rarely post on ATS, because people get upset very easily. It reminds me of debating on Yahoo religious chats.

You guys should be extra tough in these times! Don't sell-out because a few people are complaining that they have no rebuttal against evidence. Tell them to do some research then come back with cold hard evidence.

You are fiddling with Natural Selection. You are babying those weak people who think they know-it-all but really have no clue about the topics.

I would strongly recommend you keep the same rules. If you allow some rules to be broken than where will it stop? ATS will spiral out of control and land in a world where everything is typed in MSN messenger format.

It's all in the News wherever you go... you can't avoid it... not for long anyway... you try by switching off the TV but then you switch on the Net and there it is either here on ATS or on some other site you visit... so if the same issues keep arising, we will get more and more angry and frustrated at those who keep the issues in the public eye... not those who have posted but those who were responsible for the news in the first place.

Have a good day.

If you feel like the world is coming down, I would recommend doing something else rather than reading ATS or watching the news every day.

You have to realize that everything you read is programming you to think a certain way. ATS is great, but every day you have headlines telling you someone has done something horrible, or will do something horrible soon. Just like the mainstream media.

So take a break if you feel you need one. The world will be here when you get back and so will ATS.

It seems that people are so confused, they find it hard to sort out all the disinformation from the reality of the situation we are in. Now, I have been around here for quite a while, read and tried to experience many theories and read many things that just made me cringe(for various reasons).

I have found a way to start making some sense of what the issues truly are. It was when I started working to understand why I do what do, even though I want to do or not do certain things. It seemed like there was some kind of programing that would kick in which caused me to act in a manner that I did not like. Why does this happen? This going against my free will choice?

The answer I found does not seem to be popular with most who hear it. I wonder if that too is a result of our programing. It likely is, based on the theory behind programing people to do what you want.

Gurdijeff has been a great help, as well as working to become a Toltec Warrior, if there is such a thing? The theory there is interesting also.

Understand why you do what you do, even though you want to do something else, is the main key to the solution, it seems.
