Anyone think that animals don't feel?

Think about this next time you eat meat.

People, I have been studying cats for a long time... both female and male cats do this dry humping thing. Don't call me ignorant!

I am not doubting cats have feelings for other animals, there are many videos where one cat gets hit and another cat goes to see if it is ok. But to think this cat is trying to save another cat is pure ignorance!

My cat does this exact thing almost every morning on his blanket. He kneads it, and without even touching his genitals on anything he will arch his back and have a pulsating rear end.... NO my cat is not trying to "revive his blanket", he is humping it...... male and female cats do this.

I call it "in heat" but it's a polite way to say "horny". The two terms are different for female and males, but they are often refereed to as the same thing.

I will film my cat doing it on his blanket if you wish... I usually stop him when he does it, but I will film it and prove all of you wrong if you wish.

Also, when my cat is finished, he will lay down because he is tired. So whoever said cats don't lay down after dry humping is just talking pure b.s.

Sorry to ruin all of your hopes and wishes that this cat was trying CPR on another cat, but you guys need to see the reality of it.... this video is a confused cat dry humping a dead cat that would probably run away and attack the other cat if it was alive.

Ironically I had a 10 year old Cat that I had been looking after for a year for a friend in another state. Was suddenly attacked by two Pitbulls yesterday. The only saving grace was that I managed to get to the Cat before he was totally torn up. Though it looked like they had crushed his back legs and had internal bleeding. But unfortunately it didn't end there as he lashed out in fear and bit my finger and clutched on to my head. I managed to pry him off but he had already used up all his life on me in his confusion that he died a few minutes later. My other 2 Cats saw all this going on and were definately fearful and paranoid the last couple of days. I showed the Dead Cat to my other Ginger Cat and he seemed to mourn his death etc. They both frequently go and sit on the ground were he is now buried.
This video confirmed that Cats do have instinctive feelings of lose like us. It was obvious that not knowing what to do tried to do what he only knew which was to
Knead

I am a Master Dog Trainer and K9 behavior modification specialist. I have seen many things - so many in fact that - I can say this video barely touches the surface of the capability of animals to feel that they exist or are "conscious" creatures.

"Consciousness" is something that I believe most animals, if not all are capable of feeling.

For us to conclude that we are the only beings aware of their existence is in my opinion one of the reasons we have destroyed the earth. How do we know in fact that the earth itself is not a "conscious " creature?

i love cats and they're very intelligent and fun creatures. but you're quite right on this one. there's all the signs of sexual tenderness + some humping at second 0:50 and the neck grabbing at 3:00. males do that to females...

of course it's very sad to see a poor animal dead in the road but i'm quite sure the driver just could not avoid it. just imagine someone trying to avoid a cat and killing a human instead...

Cats are my favorite animals. The only reason I don't have any right now is this sort of thing happens too often and there are too many a__holes around who kill cats without any thought

I'm not anywhere near a peta person or anything but I love my "hairy children".

I saw this and almost cried. Yeah, I'm big and bad but sad is sad. Poor kitty. I hope the survivor went to a good home.

I have to go hug my dogs now.

This reminds me of my kittens lying beside their mom's dead body. They didn't move from there until they realized their mom was already dead.

But, the thing I am so happy about is a female cat friend of their mom adopted them. They use to play around my place until to my surprise, I saw my kittens breastfeeding from her.

I cant look at things like this its to heart breaking bless them. I have 4 dogs and i have had cats before i had the dogs and yes, as i have had 15 years experience with animals and i can say that they do have a soul and they totally understand human's language and behaviour.

I think that a lot of animals are emotional, especially cats and dogs, if this hasnt been brought up already, have a quick look at This it is about chimps in a safari park in scotland that mourn the loss of one of their kin,

My cat is too old and fat (and spayed and female) to be horny and humping things.
Someone posted a link about the false nursing thing, which is exactly what she is doing. Sometimes she'll even chatter a little bit and she'll get all weird with her legs, pushing back against the blanket on my lap. She stops after several minutes, curls up in a ball and goes to sleep. She's not trying to hump me or the blanket, it's normal cat behavior. She's female, she's old and we had her spayed at a year old. I've owned my share of male cats over the years, as well. All were neutered as kittens, none ever humped anything but all did the same thing with the kneading and chewing on the blankets. The two cats my mom owned did the same exact thing and she had them both neutered as kittens, too.

If your cat truly is humping things, it's time to get him neutered and he'll stop. He won't stop the false nursing, though. It's a natural behavior and I've seen it with every cat I've ever owned or lived with.

I'm sorry.
Hope your kitties will be okay after awhile. Hope you are healing from both the mistaken attack and especially the loss.

It's so hard to deal with the loss of a fuzzy face. I also believe that animals display emotions and we still have much to learn about them and from them.

I myself won't watch the video because it would be to sad for me. I like cats myself and cats have many secrets like they can scare away spirits of sorts. I firmly believe that cats are the guardians of the dead like the Egyptians did.
