I support your thinking about spending!
But I have to warn you about the floor of the Cistine Chapel - when the place is open there's hardly any room to walk, much less lay down! Unless you felt like a really large donation, your best bet would be to use a nice reclining electric wheelchair for the experience and a great set of optics.

As for myself, after resolving debts ... how much more than a million are we talking about anyway?

I would sort my parents sisters and my best friend out firstly!

Then with the rest I would buy myself a house, nothing big....maybe a small bachelor type pad, and live the rest of my life in the security of what I have left!

I wouldn't go buying a pointless massive house or flash cars, because i'd see that as a waste and a hole in my overall security!

Finally I would leave all my money and posessions to my nephew!

The only things it would change about me is....

1- not having to worry about money!
2- the amount of money in my bank account!

I'd pay off debt first, then when I'm done with debt, I'll buy filmmaking equipment.
I got my eye on a Canon GL2.

Well, the last ticket I bought was for a chance at 40 million.
I have known for years what I would do...
First off, give a large equal sum to my children.
Second, I would..yes I would, give enough money to my ex to see that he could buy a house, vehicle and live comfortably for awhile.
He took care of me (kinda) for many years and it would be a way of paying back.
For me...oh boy...

The Motorhome and motorcycle are for May-October, the log home is for the winter and early spring months.
All I want to do is travel, all over North America, just seeing and experiencing new places, people and things.

A bunker and enough gear to last me approximately 5 years without any outside assistance what so ever. The family and friends are already set, and the nephew will have access to all kinds of handouts from the government when he comes of age so theres no point in my case putting aside money for him. I would however convert all funds remaining after the construction and equipping phase into tangible barter items, probably 5% into silver and 5% into gold, the rest in tools, ammo and seeds.

I'd add that to my list.

I would get flying lessons, become as qualified as I wan't in both planes and helicopters - then knowing me probably put a helicopter into the side of a remote hill...

If I do survive to become a competent pilot I would want to set up a business, ya know pleasure flights, private hire maybe give lessons - I would need to have some sort of work for my self, cos if I had the money and nothing to do I'd most likely get really fat and die like Elvis, in a bling jump suit on the toilet with a massive burger...

Oh yhea, it will change me - I would become a massive tool, but people will like me more than ever, cos I will be rich and people are shallow fickle creatures!

If I won the lottery it wouldn't change me. Since I know that people would be sucking up to me I'd just keep it to myself and fufill my lifelong dream...a indoor olympic sized swimming pool filled with warm, temperature regulated queso. Also I would invest in Mexican food by taking over production plants and producers so that I could have an endless supply of food.

I'd move back to the coast, without the worry of having to find a job.
Spend my days writing and taking long walks along the beach, man that would be Utopia to me

I'd buy my daughter a house and make sure she was financially sound.
But what I would love to do as well is make sure all my really loyal mates, who have stood by me through good and bad times, are provided for

There are a couple of people on here that fall into that category !!
Especially one who has never abandoned me and I've never even met....
But one lucky day I would soooo love to make his dreams of having his own place come true

I'd set up an animal sanctuary and just enjoy living quietly. Not a great deal different from my current life except more animals and more security.

I'd also support clean water projects around the world. Wells, as I understand it, only cost a few thousand each so I could set up plenty of those. Maybe do it in the name of some of the pets I've had over the years. It would be nice to think of a well in afar away place named after one of my gerbils.

I dont think I would change but my level of comfort would! I play $5 a week and I've always said if I won I would make sure my kids childrens grandchildren would never have to work for a living. So I'd put the great majority of it up in secure bonds ,t-bills and such not all in one place though.

It would change me!!! I would never have to wear the same pair of shoes twice!
And my sisters could borrow then and i would not have to worry about getting them back!

But for real, It would change me for the better as i would be able to provide for others, So many times i wish i could do more for sick children and just dont have the funds to do everything i would love to do for them,

My family i would set up funds for so they could not blow it all in a year but give them enough annually to live well, But investing in there futures when the money does run out,

I would also by a VET! and try and provide for people who have trouble paying for there sick pets,

If I won the lottery, I would have to quit pretending that the reason I didnt do things that I really want to do was because of money.

I would have to take more responsibility for my own happiness and actions because I would lose the convenient scapegoat of, "I really cant afford it."
