Hi Aquarius

Yes I've got metahistory in my favorites. I like independent scholars like the ones you find here at ATS with out-of- the box thinking, like this thread for example! Lash would fit right in I think.

It would be great to have a discussion thread about the book.

another historic moment!

March 22, 1765

Stamp Act of 1765

On this day in 1765, the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act levying a tax on the American colonies to help defray the costs of defending the same. This incited much opposition in the colonies and lead to the problem of taxation without representation.

Resurrection from the Dead and Vernal equinox

In ancient Rome, the 10-day rite in honor of Attis, son of the great goddess Cybele, began on March 15th. A pine tree, which represented Attis, was chopped down, wrapped in a linen shroud, decorated with violets and placed in a sepulchre in the temple. On the Day of Blood or Black Friday, the priests of the cult gashed themselves with knives as they danced ecstatically, sympathizing with Cybele in her grief and helping to restore Attis to life. Two days later, a priest opened the sepulchre at dawn, revealing that it was empty and announcing that the god was saved. This day was known as Hilaria or the Day of Joy, a time of feasting and merriment.

Pagan roots of Easter lie in celebrating the spring equinox, for millennia an important holiday in many religions. Celebrating the beginning of spring may be among the oldest holidays in human culture. Occurring every year on March 20, 21, or 22, the spring equinox is the end of winter and beginning of spring. Biologically and culturally, it represents for northern climates the end of a “dead” season and the rebirth of life, as well as the importance of fertility and reproduction.

.....The very same people who have no problem telling me that I am a sinner and God will save me if I just submit to his will are right next door to me partying like rock stars while Japan burns to the ground.

It sickens me to the core of my being to be around such self-righteous hypocrites......

That is why I very much dislike organized religion.

Whether it is Christians or Jews or others the Ten Commandments are pretty much the same.

Lets face it, the Ten Commandments or equivalent is all about a moral code that allows people to do business together and civilization to flourish yet cheating, stealing and backstabbing have become the norm. It is all about get mine first and the heck with everyone else due to a lack of a sense of community.

This decay in moral standards has been done on purpose. Whether you want to talk of the INTENTIONAL ripping apart of our communities as Nicole Johnson showed in her article. The trashing of our education system thanks to John Dewey, the Father of Modern Education AND founding member of the USA Fabian Society, or taking the mentally ill and turning them out on the streets in the 1970's, we can trace the problems back to deliberate acts designed to destroy the fabric of society here in the USA and in Europe.

The stain glass window of the Fabian Society makes the agenda very clear:

the stained-glass window from the Beatrice Webb House in Surrey, England, former headquarters of the Fabian Society. It was designed by George Bernard Shaw and depicts Sidney Webb and Shaw striking the Earth with hammers to "REMOULD IT NEARER TO THE HEART'S DESIRE," a line from Omar Khayyam. Note the wolf in sheep's clothing in the Fabian crest above the globe. The window is now on display at the London School of Economics (LSE), which was founded by Sydney and Beatrice Webb.

"The window was subsequently stolen from the house in 1978," says LSE's archivist, Sue Donnelly. "It surfaced in Phoenix, Arizona, soon after, but then disappeared again until it suddenly resurfaced at a sale at Sotheby's in July 2005." The window was purchased by the Webb Memorial Trust and now is on loan to the LSE where it is displayed in the schools Shaw Library. In April of 2006, the window was officially unvieled by a ceremony attended by British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is a member of the Fabian Society.

The Fabians originally were an elite group of intellectuals who formed a semi-secret society for the purpose of bringing socialism to the world. Whereas Communists wanted to establish socialism quickly through violence and revolution, the Fabians preferred to do it slowly through propaganda and legislation. The word socialism was not to be used. Instead, they would speak of benefits for the people such as welfare, medical care, higher wages, and better working conditions. In this way, they planned to accomplish their objective without bloodshed and even without serious opposition. They scorned the Communists, not because they disliked their goals, but because they disagreed with their methods. To emphasize the importance of gradualism, they adopted the turtle as the symbol of their movement. The three most prominent leaders in the early days were Sidney and Beatrice Webb and George Bernard Shaw. A stained-glass window from the Beatrice Webb House in Surrey, England is especially enlightening. Across the top appears the last line from Omar Khayyam:

Dear love, couldst thou and I with fate conspire
To grasp this sorry scheme of things entire,
Would we not shatter it to bits, and then
Remould it nearer to the heart's desire!

Beneath the line Remould it nearer to the heart's desire, the mural depicts Shaw and Webb striking the earth with hammers. Across the bottom, the masses kneel in worship of a stack of books advocating the theories of socialism. Thumbing his nose at the docile masses is H.G. Wells who, after quitting the Fabians, denounced them as "the new machiavellians." The most revealing component, however, is the Fabian crest which appears Between Shaw and Webb. It is a wolf in sheep's clothing! www.freedomforceinternational.org...

If you look at the havoc wrought on the USA by Bill Clinton, you can see Fabianism in action:
1995 World Trade Organization Agreement on Ag and 1996 Freedom to Farm Act:
RESULT:

Today's global food crisis shows "we all blew it, including me when I was president," by treating food crops as commodities instead of as a vital right of the world's poor, Bill Clinton told a U.N. gathering on Thursday. UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 23, 2008

President Bill Clinton, now the UN Special Envoy to Haiti, publicly apologized last month for forcing Haiti to drop tariffs on imported, subsidized US rice during his time in office. The policy wiped out Haitian rice farming and seriously damaged Haiti’s ability to be self-sufficient. www.democracynow.org...

Consolidation of Mega Banks, AIG Bailout and Foreclosuregate:
Look at the laws signed by Clinton in the Quick list of Banking laws

After the Great Depression, several laws were put in place to prevent another depression. The 1933 and 1934 Security and Exchange laws, The McFadden Act of 1927, The Glass-Steagall Act or Banking Act of 1933, and also Bank Holding Company Act of 1956.

Clinton's signed laws Negating ALL the above: Riegle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1994 and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999

More pro-banking Clinton laws:
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991: Allowed big banks to gobble up smaller banks more easily.

Housing and Community Development Act of 1992 and RTC Completion Act - Housing and business loans to minorities.

Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 - left CDSs unregulated and set the USA up AIG bailout and Foreclosuregate.

And look WHO Clinton IS - A RHODES SCHOLAR!

In the last century, members of the British Fabian Society, dynastic banking families in the City of London, financed the Communist takeover of Russia. Trotsky in his biography refers to some of the loans from these British financiers going back as far as 1907. By 1917 the major subsidies and funding for the Bolshevik Revolution were co-ordinated and arranged by Sir George Buchanan and Lord Alfred Milner. [no doubt using money from Cecil Rhodes' South African gold and diamond legacy - Ed] The Communist system in Russia was a "British experiment" designed ultimately to become the Fabian Socialist model for the British takeover of the World through the UN and EU. The British plan to takeover the World and bring in a "New World Order" began with the teachings of John Ruskin and Cecil Rhodes at Oxford University. Rhodes in one of his wills in 1877 left his vast fortune to Lord Nathan Rothschild as trustee to set up the Rhodes Scholarship Program at Oxford to indoctrinate promising young graduates for the purpose, and also establish a secret society [Royal Institute of International Affairs RIIA, which branched into the Round Table, the Bilderbergers, the CFR, the Trilateral, etc -- Ed] for leading business and banking leaders around the World who would work for the City to bring in their Socialist World government. www.sodahead.com...

The British Fabian Society links back into your statement:

England plays some special role in this grand plan and I suspect it is because the Christ Sect originated on the isle.

It is very interesting to take a look at Tony Blair as well as Bill Clinton. Before Tony Blair became British Prime Minister in May 1997, he was Chairman of the Fabian Society.

Blair's Speeches and Writings are available HERE

His short article [qrl=http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Tony_Blair/Works]Faith in a Globalized Age[/qrl] is rather interesting. Especially when you compare it to Maurice Strong and HIS foray into religion.

...Hanne and Maurice Strong acquired the big track of land knows as the Baca Ranch in 1978. Guided by the vision of Native American elders that his land had a great purpose, and her own desire to establish a sustainable, interfaith retreat community in North America, Hanne began to implement a new kind of development. She consolidated tracks of land and gave them to traditional religious and educational/intellectual organizations. By 1988, the following centers had been established: the Spiritual Life Institute (Carmelite monastery), the Crestone Mountain Zen Center, The Haidakhandi Universal Ashram, the Sri Aurobindo Learning Center, the Aspen Institute ( which was later acquired by Colorado College), and the San Luis Valley Tibetan Project....

The Crestone/Baca community of centers of the world's religious traditions is currently the largest intentional interfaith ecumenical community in North America. The Foundation has also instigated its own solitary retreat hermitage project, providing the opportunity for individuals to focus on their contemplative practices. www.transition-dynamics.com...

It is pretty obvious that TPTB is NOT leaving religion out of the equation when "Developing" their New World Order.

Another Fabian connection is the Carnegie Foundations.
From that we get an article [qrl=http://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/milanovic3/English]Learning Globalization From Football[/qrl]

I'm sorry to tell you that there are little guys out there making up stuff like this. If you start looking for sources -- ancient sources -- that back this up, there's a sudden absence. I don't know where you pasted this from, but I bet they didn't give any sources.

Since I'm marginally interested in Attis -- enough to collect the sources -- let me offer a few comments and a few of the queries we should all ask.

Erm, which source says so? I know about the festival of Cybele -- Attis was a disreputable figure.

A pine tree, which represented Attis,

Says who? Certainly a pine tree was involved. Ask, then -- how do we know? What does the source say?

Really? Says who?

Which ancient source says "black friday"?

Why does the source not mention that this was when they castrated themselves?

and helping to restore Attis to life. Two days later, a priest opened the sepulchre at dawn, revealing that it was empty and announcing that the god was saved. This day was known as Hilaria or the Day of Joy, a time of feasting and merriment.

No ancient source records any of this. Attis is not restored to life in any ancient source other than Firmicus Maternus, writing ca. 350 AD, and under Christian influence. No source before or after has heard of it. The myth actually says that he was NOT resurrected, as a deliberate decision by Father Zeus.

I hope anyone reading this is beginning to see the problem. All this stuff is fake. I don't mean that we don't agree; I mean that it simply is not good history. It's not found in the sources. Some miserable bastard made it up to spite his daddy who was a vicar, or for some equally drivelling reason.

Whatever our religion, surely we would all prefer to have the raw facts right?

Onward:

Pagan roots of Easter lie in celebrating the spring equinox,

We might ask "what pagan roots"? Easter exists because it's the anniversary of the death of Jesus. Sensible people know this.

And who, precisely, makes this curious claim, and why should we listen?

To everyone who believed all this stuff about Attis: Did you not think, not even for a moment, that this was all too good to be true?

Be sceptical.

All the best,

Roger Pearse

I would think that waiting on a response from Mick before flaming him would be a more appropriate action.

You clearly state that you do not know if he is wrong, but yet, you do not know of him being right.

That only shows the limits of your own knowledge.

The only way to show that something is wrong is to prove that something else is right, which makes it impossible for the original premise to be correct.

And on top of that, you seem to be saying that ALL of the information in the thread is wrong because you believe that the information in one post is wrong, according to you.
I personally can't tell you the validity of Mick's post because I honestly do not know, but you have not shown us anything. You have merely told us what you think.
I would appreciate some kind of link or source that you could point me towards that would invalidate Mick's post.

I understand that my knowledge is greatly limited, and I do not use that lack of knowledge to invalidate the statements of others.

Here is a link to reason.
Here is a link to logic.
Here is a link to logical fallacies.

Many time it was explain here that TPTB ( ROME ) have many legions to rule over the world population. Those Legions are Organisations like The United Nations, CFR, Club of Rome etc and many secret societies and they also control all powerful countries like USA, UK, France, Canada, Russia etc. Many Roman symbols in all those Roman puppet kingdoms were exposed here in this thread.

The Roman Eagle also have its Claw on the industrial and economic sectors. ROME control the banking system and here is how it works...

Hey mick! Cool video but I just started watching it and I have to point something out that I have spotted at the 2:42 mark. The character who is narrating is talking about the First National Bank and turns to the camera and makes a gesture with his hands. Can you tell me what that gesture is?

Is it purposeful or relevant? Who knows but it's worth keeping in the back of your mind.

I caught this early this morning in following up on the situation in Wisconsin regarding the new anti-Union bargaining laws.

A judge in the state issued an injunction against publishing the highly controversial law pending a legal review by the courts but the State's records office published it anyway and put it up on their website and the State's Secretary of State had this to say.

In the appeal, Van Hollen argues that Sumi has no jurisdiction over state lawmakers or Wisconsin's secretary of state, all of whom have sovereign immunity. Sumi's order bars La Follette from publishing the new law.

This should interest many people on this thread who have been studying or expermimenting with "Freeman on the Land" principles as State Lawmakers in Wisconsin accorting to it's Secretary of State have sovereign immunity!

WOW what a really interesting find.

I have very rarely seen "soveign immunity" before coming to ATS.

this may be what they are talking about:

NOTE: ABROGATING STATE SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY IN LEGISLATIVE COURTS

Excerpt
Introduction

With its decisions in Seminole Tribe v. Florida 1 and Alden v. Maine, 2 the Supreme Court has tremendously broadened the immunity that states enjoy from suits brought by private individuals. In Seminole Tribe, the Court held that a state may not be sued in federal court for violations of the federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. 3 In Alden, the Court held that a state may not be sued in its own courts for violations of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. 4 In both instances, Congress had expressly declared its intention to make the states subject to suit by private parties. Taken together, these decisions thus establish the remarkable proposition that states may violate federal statutes yet not be held accountable in any court of law. 5

State immunity from suit has been a controversial doctrine in the United States since the Founding. Indeed, the doctrine was initially repudiated by the Supreme Court in the early days of the Republic, in Chisholm v. Georgia. 6 In the immediate aftermath of Chisholm, however, state immunity was broadened by the passage of the Eleventh Amendment, and the precise contours of the doctrine have remained in flux ever since. Over the last century, the Court has gradually expanded the reach of sovereign immunity, relying on constitutional arguments that have frequently been subject to harsh criticism. But it is only with the Court's recent decisions in Seminole Tribe and Alden that state immunity has become effectively absolute, leading scholars ... litigation-essentials.lexisnexis.com... 15&key=6dbaa01f13c856862539a08e16145107

These fun guys are going to have a real interesting battle to fight.
But something tells me that this angle will disappear, or the media will not report on it.
The priest lawyer class, as spoken of so frequently by JohnPaulZodeaux, has certainly fallen victim to their own spell.

I saw the same article when I was looking through the news this morning and got butterflies when I saw the words...
"sovereign immunity"

It is disturbing how those workers are being railroaded.
Labor is being liquidated and our wealth is being debased, but we don't think so because inflation makes us think that we have more!!

In 1743 a goldsmith named Amschel Moses Bauer opened a coin shop in Frankfurt, Germany. He hung above his door a sign depicting a Roman eagle on a red shield. The shop became known as the Red Shield firm. The German word for 'red shield' is Rothschild

Mayer Amschel Bauer ( the son ) changed his name to Rothschild (red shield). It was at this point that the House of Rothschild came into being.

Throughout history the Roman Legion Rothschild have shown incredible foresight. Mainly because they knew conflicts were going to happen and because they caused or groomed them through money manipulation,

Infiltrating Europe was only one task on the list. Rome also knew that to keep their talons hooked on the world’s prey, they’d have to also venture in to the new world, America, and grow alongside the nation with Rome's Military, Political, Religious and also with the Banking Legion.

In the decades to come Roman Legion Rothschild would take over the banking system and fund many of the major corporations that stand to this day..

Speaking of sad...

Was the Bible forged? Author claims some New Testament books were written by 'people pretending to be apostles'

Parts of the Bible were written by people who lied about their identity, an author has claimed.
Bart D Ehrman claims many books of the New Testament were forged by people pretending to be the apostles Peter, Paul or James.
Writing in the Huffington Post, Professor Ehrman, best selling author of 'Misquoting Jesus' and 'Jesus, Interrupted', said religious scholars were well aware of the 'lies' of the Bible.

Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk...

Now here is a real shocker, evidently at least three of the contributing authors of the Holy Roman Bible were not who they said they were.

Amazing huh?

The author goes on to insist that most relgious scholars are well aware of this but turn a blind eye to machinations.

The author does not seem to raise the million dollar question(s) as to whether Roman Authorities were aware that these books were being brought forth by conmen, though he believes religious scholars were aware at the time.

Or if Rome published what were known forgeries simply because they added something particuarly useful to the religion such as the mysoginist traditions of patriarchal Rome, casting women as patently inferior and men as their moral superiors.

Of course with New World Order precursor actions taking place at a steady clip throughout the world is this mainstream media disclosure part of a campaign to be begin discrediting the Earth's most popular religions?

Wow on the sovereign story, not so much that is was used, but in the reporting of it?

That's part of the immunity that comes with being a congressman or something, not the same necessarily, it does show that the legal position is recognised, and that alone is noteworthy!

With regard the "latest" findings on religion especially, i trust very few. Same as all these inahabitable planets they've been finding lately, and many other "scientists prove" stories that are constantly churning through the mainstream. Many obvious, many stupid, and many contradictory.

I am against religion bashing in ANY way, whatever i think i do respect that others have different ideas, but the way all religions are slated in the media is astounding. Like the unwarranted attack above, on people "hiding" information, that alone is purely fearmongering and hate talk.
