Well they lost all of my trust when they couldn't do the simple thing and go to wikipedia to hear how to pronounce the name right and made a big fool of themselves.
This news report is the big joke in Iceland now and I swear that I almost peed myself listening to the reporter.

Yet another failed attempt to report the "news" by main stream media. When are we going to start considering these so called new reporters to be nothing more than tabloids?

Wow, major news media fooled by misreading of camera view.

That is pathetic on the part of major news outlets. At least they didn't report that Katia was erupting.

It is again nice to see that you can get the facts HERE before the MSM get them. The volcano and quakewatch crew caught it right away.

ive been watching the katla cam for a while now, and in the same spot up in the distance on the mountain, which looks like part of a glacier, i keep seeing flashes and streaks of light from what looks to be beneath the glacier.

Am i on crack or can someone clarify? top leftish corner, to the left of a large dark spot on the mountain.

EDIT: It keep's happening all around the same area, over and over.

Good news!
Airports are again running in Britain, Germany, France, Belgium, Norway and Sweden. But flights are still cancelled to Denmark.

Bad news!
Following wind changes, the capital Reykjavík (where I live) is now in danger for ash. If it starts to "snow" ash here then the schools will be closed in safety of the children and we have to monitor our water supplies really well.

Another news!
The highway under Eyjafjallajökull has been opened but police warn people that much ash is there and really windy.
Many people have decided to take the ship Norræna to Europe tomorrow and not trust the airplanes. But to do that they have to drive across Iceland to Seyðisfjörður and it can be a really long drive if you can't go the short cut road under Eyjafjallajökull, we are talking about maybe 14 hour drive and then 3 days in a ship.

Eruption news!
Eyjafjallajökull is still blowing, does not show any signs of stopping.
Katla and Hekla show no signs of waking up.
Laki has a lot of tremors and experts are monitoring that area.

Will keep you posted!

Did anyone in the UK just see SKY NEWS? they were live in Iceland and zoomed the camera (from around sea level) right in on the volcano crater (from the side) you could see enormous what looked like sparkly white "flakes" that would come out of the crater and drop back down but they were really bright, what is that? magma? it was really weird and they were huge! if it were ice surely it would melt instantly.

You could see it against the dark cloud of ash bellowing out of the top.

I have been watching this thread from the begining (I have not read every post so if this has already been asked excuse me) and have been wondering why none of the MSM have called this a "Caldera"
So I guess I have to ask; is this actually a Caldera or just a normal Volcano?
From what I have read there is a big difference between the 2.

Sorry to be nit-picky; but like I said there is a big difference.
