Forgive me but I’m a bit lost... could you give some examples of ex-service personnel being treated in this way

Try getting care at a VA hospital...try burying a Vet or active duty service member with dignity that would be given to an household pet!!
Dont get me started

You can all be as mad as you want. Voice your concern and link thousands of articles to support your claim. Hell you might even want to call your congressman. Just don't be stupid and actually do something about it.

If you have a problem, go fix it. If not just lay down and feel sorry for yourself. I will tell you this, life SUCKS, it really does suck in every way. And if you think you are going to squeeze an ounce of happiness from this reality you are living in a dream.

But if your still convinced that you have the power to make a 'change' in life then you better start applying the ones and zeros of what is necessary to accomplish your task. Just make it quick because you don't live forever.

And a word for the wise; pack a lunch.

p.s Dont let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do even if your hopes are destroyed in your face. Never settle!
To truly live is to die for something.

As an ex military Officer as well. I have to agree 100% with the OP.
All the little haters have to come out and show their stripes here on this thread. Most of these Toads that sit behind their computer in their mommy's basement couldn't even make it through basic training!!

Say what you want, The FACT is the military is supported by the great majority of people in this country. It's just the vocal sniveling minority you see in places like this or on the MSM. For those sane individuals who watched us get attacked on 9-11 and still do realize terrorists did it ( not George Bush for God's sake...please!! all you who believe it was an inside job, go smoke another bowl and make sure your MOM gets your laundry done right and cooks you dinner and tucks you in later) We will always need the military, instead of telling us vets how F'd up we are why don't you look in the mirror,at least we gave a # about something enough to make a commitment to it. Most of you on here can only commit to smoking your next joint..bunch of liberal pussies on here.

Once again, another angered American posting their protests on a forum of protesters.

I gave you a star and flag - obviously, because just like most posting on this thread - I feel the same way you do. I even posted my declaration of protest too. back in 2008 however, folks thought I was insane. That I was someone talking out of the side of my neck. That I was unAmerican.

Seems that has all changed now, since this post has gotten close to 75 stars and flags.

ARE YOU SICK AND TIRED OF THE MSM ASSASINATING YOUR CHARACTER? WHY NOT FILE A LAW SUIT AGAINST THEM, AND SUE THEM FOR EVERYTHING THEY GOT?

That is one sure way of revolting against the establishment, now isn't it? OH... those other former military personnel present, why not join in on the lawsuit thing... numbers usually help with tumbling an empire... =)

Sir I agree with you, but is there ever a middle ground? We need a standing army to protect ourselves and at the same time it is the tool that could very well destroy us! So I believe it is within the minds of the military men and women that we must turn our attention too. I for one am free the bull# of military doctrine, even while serving. It's crap, absolutely crap.

Nothing criminal against being a proud American. It just seems a little strange to worship an arbitrary thing like the geographical region someone lives in.

When I hear 'patriot' and 'proud American' it just reminds me of the state of existence many people are involved in maintaining. They want to maintain government control and claims its duty is to protect us from possible initiations of force.

Giving an arbitrary group of people (the state: president, legislators, bureaucrats, down to mayors and councilmen) control over the initiation of violence is NOT a good way to protect individuals from the initiation of violence. I see the opposite true, in fact. History is my greatest example.

I see America as a good stepping stone to freedom, as it allows for the open discussion of ideas, but I cannot support such an idea if it is based on the theft of peoples property, and the systematic coercion it takes part in to maintain its level of power.

When people say they want to scale back government, it is like removing only some of the poison in society. The poison still exists as the government itself is that poison.

You can tell a cat to bark but it will still meow. The 'catness' of the cat is the inherent flaw in saying that it should bark. The only way to get rid of the meow is to get rid of the catness, thus, that cat.

Politics is the game of tyrants with only the comprehension of philosophy to use it to harm others or in many cases, to get others to willingly harm themselves.

This great country of ours is being taken over by Big Banks and Corp.

The greatness of our 'country' (which, again is an arbitrary collection of people based on geography) is only due to the fact that individuals have been able to work in spite of the theft and violence. Free-range cattle produce more product for the farmer (state) and the state only allows the illusion of freedom in order to get more for itself.

We are slaves, and I don't see it moral or logical to worship our masters in the form of patriotism.

I am pro-human, and anti-state, as the state only exists to consume that which its citizens or subjects produce. Wake up, it is any wonder why things have gotten to this point? Is it any wonder that we are fighting unethical wars (which I have taken part) both domestically and abroad? Is it any wonder I've got too much time on my hands?

Supporting such a system willfully is supporting the 'collateral' murder of thousands of people in Iraq, supporting the imprisonment of people based on their peaceful recreational activities, supporting theft from good, hard working people, and supporting the very system of violence that uses its own people and future children as leverage to maintain its own dying, failing empire.

I cannot do such a thing and sleep well at night. I just do not have the moral flexibility to condone violence as a means to exist.

Think what you choose about the 'nation', I choose to be a better human and not treat my fellow prisoners like common slaves. There is a pot and a kettle somewhere.

As for troops, I support them on an individual basis. I understand the level of brainwashing all Americans have been taught in the state school system, and understand that ignorance is the norm. Good people, like yourself (the OP) are fooled. I only wish to give you a chance to climb down the rabbit hole and find reality on your own.

Stop being the beaten spouse in the relationship and making up insane rationalizations for why you have been abused. In the name of fighting terrorism, first stop it here in the place you live. If you don't think we live in a terrorist state, stop paying tribute to it and see what happens to you and your family.

Yawn. Another one of these "wah, wah" threads.

Having a whinge about not liking someone else's comments won't change anything. Your energy would be better spent creating a thread that actually contributes to this site.

Why don't you guys have some pride and stop being a willing slave. Its cowardly to hail America. Do I dare call you an Uncle Tom? Instead of betraying your race, you are betraying humanity by allowing, and condoning such act of violence be perpetrated against it.

To praise America as a beacon of hope and freedom is to praise violence against others. America did us a solid by freeing us from the tyranny of the Crown, and gave us a chance to pursue greater ideas. But it is time to open your eyes and see that we just were freed from a more constricting cage and placed in another.

Being 'proud to be an American' is just being thankful to the state that allows us to feel better about our subservience. The constitution wasn't even followed by the people who wrote it and it is not a barrier to tyranny. It is more of a Great Wall of China to the Mongols.

Stop being a coward and appeal to your sense of pride as a living, free human being. Pride is disingenuous when it is for the sake of your monarchs. Feel pride as a human and fight the ideas of servitude.

There is no pride in nationalism, only fear, ignorance, and the compromising of moral principles. Don't give up your pride for scraps of your own hard work.

My words will likely cause two things.
They can be ignored for fear of actual discussion on real-life issues or they can just kill this thread. If I can engage one person, it will be worth it.

posts like this make me laugh. people get all heated and exited and make grand statement like this and next sunday are doing the same this as last and so on. This is primarily and information forum and as such should be used to spread information not opinion. everybody needs to release some stem now and then just dont get too exited and do something you might regret. just be careful is all im saying.

So, the OP found out America is a plutonamy. Does he want a cookie from us?

I can not say I am grateful of your service for I am not an American. But complaining about something you can not change is not worth anybody's time.
Concentrate on the things you can change for the better. It will help you in multiple ways.

Anger, frustration...we all have it based upon our opinons and situations. If you allow others to make you feel this way, then they have won and you have lost. You'll have given up your own control, only to be controlled (or made angry). Use you energy you have to achieve what you want, but do not resort to violence.

So it seems that you're trying to insight others to revolt and then you'll join the mob. That's probably what plenty of others are doing. Not what I would call "Not taking it anymore!"

What is needed is a leader with vision who can ignite the revolution and get the unhappy sheep activated. Nothing violent required but rest assured that it will be met with violence al la Ohio, Honduras, Thailand, Kyrgystan to name a few. Without some real leadership, we're all standing around wondering what to do and protesting in the only voice that reaches outside our small sphere of family and friends.

You wouldn't be an Agent Provocateur, would you?

You bought that fairy tale right down to the "happily ever after" bit. I suppose you believe that the underwear bomber was a real attempt to blow up an airplane and that the twin towers and pentagon were attacked by cave-dwelling terrorists from Afghanistan.

I don't know what actually happened at Ft Hood but I'll bet a dollar to a doughnut that it wasn't an islamic attack on the US military. I believed the 911 lie for 8 years so won't be so easily fooled again.

Try getting past the propaganda by reading alternative news sources and don't lose sight of the evidence that get's pushed aside when it doesn't fit the official story.

As an ex-military officer, you should have a decent level of education behind you. Of course education and brainwashing are not always clearly defined but I'm sure that you can tell the difference. If you've spent any real time studying the 911 evidence, then you're only argument for denying the truth about these events is "it cannot be true because too many people would have to be involved and they couldn't possibly keep it quiet"

If you're at that level of argument, then the answer is to go back and complete the course of studies. The truth is there and anyone with an open mind will see it.

Back to topic, I've got a brother who has just completed an Afghanistan tour which closely followed an Iraq tour. I'm overjoyed that he managed two tours without serious injury (completely down to luck of the draw) but I will still be extremely critical of him if I find that he was involved in any of the crap that others are definitely guilty of. Quit whining about liberals and how you guys are sacrificing for our freedom. I served 17 years myself and am extremely pissed off to find that I was a deluded part of the US empire's war machine during those years. I've yet to find any evidence where the US military has actually defended our freedom since WW2 and even then they were being used as patsies by the banking elite who were financing both sides of the war.

If you're saying that you're proud to have fought for the US corporatocracy, then you are a lost cause. You'll be right at home when the military and police start putting down insurrection in the US by the millions of abandoned, disaffected poor created by the political and economic system instigated with the establishment of the Federal Reserve in the early 20th century.

A RANT? I guess if you deem my statements as a RANT; then so be it. As for proof of this I would refer you to the videos below from MSM outlets.

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

And the list goes ON and ON. If you will point at them saying that they are statements by the DHS, you would be correct but, if you understand how a propaganda war is waged; these are the tactics used to embed the ideas of the report into the minds of those watching. This type of propaganda warfare has been used sense the creation of Mass media. They are using the DHS as the fall guy in these reports, while still being able to make their statements as to Vets being Extremists.

They realize that the majority of the populace will not differentiate between the statements of the DHS and the MSM's mission to deliver the msg they seek.

Lastly I will bring up the recent reports by the MSM stating that the militia personnel arrested in the latest raids by the FBI, were trained by former military personnel; two of them being former soldiers themselves.

I rest my case.

MolecularPHD

I meerly said that it seemed like a rant... a justified statement when you consider that not everyone on this forum is American or understand everything that is going on in America... Your OP provided no facts to back up your claims but did contain lots of emotion...

However, i do understand why you would be emotional... its your country afterall!!!

I honestly wasnt critising you... you after some more information which you have now provided... Thanks

Once i have had a look a the vids i will let you know what i think... but i do understand and respect you passion...

"Stop sitting on your butts and just blogging your complaints;" Like you're doing right now.... another barca-lounger revolutionary. I am so tired of all this overwrought nonsense.
Every person I know, liberal, democrat, conservative, republican, progressive, libertarian, communist, socialist, the one thing they have in common is an undisguised awe of the people who risk life, limb and in some cases mental stability in order to protect schmo's like myself and my kids... people they don't even know.
Part of the awe comes from seeing what war can do to people (as if killing them isn't bad enough). And sometimes, people who wear our (or any) uniform do bad things, sometimes in the heat of battle. But when they put on the uniform they also accept the responsibility for their actions, and accept the consequences. That's comes with the badge, so to speak. If you can't deal with that you should never put on the uniform. So can we please put to rest this whole, 'when did the military become terrorist thing?'

But, someone who sits in their barca lounger suggesting that somehow it is time to 'take back' America (the unspoken subtext being through some kind of armed 'revolution') gets nothing but my contempt. You want to change things, join your school board, run for local office, support a candidate that you respect and believe in... stop feeding me this faux revolutionary baloney. Please....
