isn't this what people did when they voted for Obama?

How is this different?

Aren't you in fact just preserving the status quo

Two party system?

This is different... Obama is a socialist and we cannot let this go on.

Why no comments from Conservatives...Libertarians?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I am sick to death of revealing the corruption in politics and complaining about it. People are SO attached to their "team" that all it does is start a fight. That gets us nowhere.

You know I love you, David, so this isn't personal, it's just that I don't know what good it does to reveal Dick Armey's pure sliminess. I've known about it for over a year now and nothing has changed except that he's gotten more powerful and more corrupt and more people are listening to him.

The Tea Party is a lost cause. They are now part of the corruption that is the Republican party. They have been absorbed by the GOP and the violent "Tim McVeigh wananbees".

What we need to do is talk about what to do from here. Not rehash how bad each side is. It just serves no one.

I doubt you're going to get any conservative comment. You've taken a strike at "their guy" and you hit it on the head. What can they say?

I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't have answered in this thread. But my posting in Skeptic's Political Madness Escalates thread has really got me thinking... And that's always dangerous.
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

I don't want you to tell me what I want to hear.

You know where I used to be politically. I used to be a big part of pushing much the anger on the deficit...and especially the Fed. When I look at my old posts...sometimes it feels as if I couldn't have possibly felt that way...but I did.

It is something I have struggled with. There are things we want to believe is right...because WE want to be right. I want to be right in what I believe...as well as you do...or any other.

I stated this in another thread....

If Mitt Romney had been President...and signed this bill....Republicans would be praising it. Democrats would be yelling that it was a giveaway to the health insurance industry and Big Pharma...which IMO it is...although it will help some people...to what effect remains to be seen.

But I think most of us...when we truly look at it...can accept it as true. Obama has been more of a Republican in his policies so far than a Democrat....yet I see people doing a switcharoo. Dems/Libs are looking for justification in his actions...and Reps/Cons are finding anyway to demonize him in any way possible.

I know there is a ton of hypocrisy on both sides. I can't tell you how many times I've told myself that I've had enough.....that I would quite visiting ATS....because it often feels like shouting in a panic room. No one seems to listen...no one seems to care.

Thanks for commenting BH....

BTW...I love ya 2!

YA dude...

I just found some -

You were the Tea Party, Ron Paul, Beck guy HANDS DOWN!

IMO more diligent then any of this second generation.

But now look at you, you have no movement...

Just like me

Seems we beat the belief right out of eachother

Although I must say both of us are better for it man...
Even if people IGNORE you David (you know you do) you have found that little sliver of truth that alludes almost everyone.

I remember for a short time I decided that everytime you would use the word socialist I would use NEOCON for each instance.

But I digress, most of these folks are chicken, proof is in this pudding right ere!

I was...it was all I did at the time. Where's all the respect from the second generation?

I remember for a short time I decided that everytime you would use the word socialist I would use NEOCON for each instance.

haha...yeah...I remember stating...YEP I'M a NEO CON...and then you added me to your foe list.

That's one thing that makes me hopeful though...even though it's not apparent on this thread.

If the both of us can get along after all that carnage....then maybe others can break through....

Doesn't look like it will happen tonight though!

It's just more screaming in the panic room which is ATS.

Ya man, these juniors could learn

You sure did piss me off, I thought this guy has to be kidding, then I thought you fully realized what you were going to bring about which was the scotch free re-branding of the GOP.

I was right on that though huh?

Was not so right on My Savior

Very weird to have such a small, small "political group"...

all the crap that comes with being a rebel and none of the cool stuff.

These new "Rebels" are so hard core they get their ideas from a TV screen

dangerous!

I don't think it is that deep in the sense, covertly...

I do think that he has a Military Industrial Agenda that he is not exposing to his followers.

My point or concern is that he is infact doing what the US always does and REGRETS.

So far we have FUNDED and TRAINED, at some point, the two countries we are at war with now.

Dick seems to either not realize or is attempting to perpetuate this constant idiocy,
which, now that I think of it, might make you point valid.

Further more I think Dicks Tea Party activity is likely base political in motive.
The true translation of the movement will not be anti government, it will
be anti THIS government, which will be, by default GOP. However I am not so sure there
is much of a difference, Obama is not turning out to be a good little Socialist if you look at it objectively.

Populism in the US was mostly created by farmers and other people who lived in the midwest. They fought for government intervention to stop corporate influence and they voted for Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, Eugene V. Debbs in 1916, Robert M. LaFollette, Sr. in 1924, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1932. That was the original populist movements. Now this new 'populist' movement is a brainwashed manipulated Right-wing populist movement.

I do not want to see this thread go by the wayside, it actually addresses the deeper connections of the Tea Party and its leaders rather than just calling the whole thing a conspiracy and giving its followers a "you're clear because the whole thing was a conspiracy" card.

So this is a bump post.

Dave; There's not a whole lot to say on this.

It was a year ago. Beck has changed his tune dramatically.

I saw you get verbally beat up daily. Then your Beck Video Posting binge declined and ended.

I see it like this, You are always looking for some MAN to put faith into and trust as GOD.

Wull, If Jesus, God & Holy Ghost can't fill that void and you continue to look towards men for perfection, you will always be disappointed.

Ron Paul isn't God; nor is Obama (although he could be the Anti-Jesus
.) nor any other living man (or woman.)

Personally, I believe in the collective of the American People.

God created the definition of Right vs. Wrong. Else, murder etc. would be the rule of the day.

What a truly miserable planet we would have with gangster type of rule.

Anyhow, Not much to say about someone being an entrepreneur and greedy too.

Trusting that good will triumph over evil is a deep seated human trait.

Hell, anyone who isn't tempted daily isn't human.

Choose your fights wisely. Stand up for what's right.
Personally, I believe in the collective of the American People, reason being, I AM AMERICAN. I believe in myself.

Trust.

It is so sad to read this thread. When I first heard about the TPM I thought it was something I could get behind. Then I saw it get swallowed up by the GOP. So many Americans being lied to and all we have to show is regular polarization to keep us divided. Would love to see about 180 blue collar workers jump on the ticket as independents in 2012 but that isn't going to happen. Hopefully a true grassroots movement will start up soon that can battle the evil giant. Very good eye opening thread.

Many will make claims of socialism and communism run rampant in the United States, but those ignorant individuals do not understand that the United States has always leaned heavily to the right. Our most liberal congressman and public officials would be considered moderate conservatives in any other developed nation in the world. Our world view is twisted and far too conservative in nature.

Word up to that!! It's also the same in other western nations, but not to the degree you guys have it over there. Here we have Labor (supposedly left) and Liberal (definitely right). Both are totally bourgeois at the national and state levels... Doing nothing but pandering to the Fed and Big Business, though some good comes out of Labor occasionally. But we have The Greens and they provide an actual alternative and do have a seat or two in the Senate and a few seats in parliament.

But I think its almost pathetic (no offense intended) that yous don't have compulsory voting. I think Obama had like a 40-50 percent voter turn-out. Voting every four years is NOT democracy, and even less so when 60-50 percent of people are so apathetic so as to not even vote at all.

In this supposedly free and fair nation there has been a culture of hate and distrust amongst the citizens. Class struggles were the original issue, but the people in power knew much of the psychology of man and understood that the people would understand the class separation sooner or later and attempt to change it.
The middle class was created to provide the people with an illusion of social mobility and grace. The conflict then was shifted towards race, gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity. When the proletariat fight amongst themselves, the bourgeois can rest easily. That strategy has been utilized to a point in which I have to respect. The ones who pulled this off are magnificently brilliant. They have essential assured that they will never be made as targets for as long as they maintain their power.

It is a pretty sad time in history that people have reached this point. Freedom means Consumerism. And while the youth are detached from their parents by means of different music and fashion crazes, the cultural and institutional memory attached to bridging generations goes out the window aswell.

Middle Class is a figment of the collective imagination. So if you've got the money to own a house (that TPTB can take at any time) and a car your all sweet. The American Dream is nothing but a dream, that clouds the nightmare of slavery, capitalism is nothing but dressed up version of Feudalism.

When it looked as if trouble may have come from the popular of socialist ideas the powers that be brainwashed a nation with the red scare. Many fools today are still indoctrinated in the worst means to have the word "socialist" pull a trigger of fight or flight within their minds. The powers that be were brilliant in their tactics. No one would dare question their corporate free market rule if individuals were bred to know government assistance as a red enemy that could start WWIII.

The narrator is funny, but if you understand Trotskyism, you understand that is the building blocks for the building a better future. The problem is, few are interested enough to research the ideologies and policies they are living by and/or supposed to be afraid of.

Now I must address the problem at hand. These tea party individuals and so called patriots of the constitution are brainwashed sleepwalkers. They are the most dangerous things to the stability of this nation and the potential success of the truth movement that has not yet begun. Yes, sleepwalkers are dangerous. They think that they are lucid and awake, when in truth they are clouded by deceit and illusion. What is worse is that they are not ever inclined to question their "authority" on truth. They are static and flat within their beliefs. They cling to what they think they have come to know as truth. They are dangerous liabilities. The powers that be utilize them every day. [...] Its viewers had become so indoctrinated that they were defending their corporate slave owners to the end on the health care issue. I sat in pure bewilderment as I watched such occur.

I think its a symptom, people know somethings wrong, but most are still unable to connect the dots to form the big picture, and as a result people like Sarah Palin and the like are able to take leadership positions and people are content to coast along and see what happens. Meanwhile whats gonna happen is, when election time rolls around all the people who jumped on the Tea Party Bandwagon (legitimately so) are just gonna vote for the Republican Party, and the whole thing will start over again.

The confused sheeple will fall victim to the new Shepard.

Now I see the rising call to violent revolution coming form the far right fringe. Divide and conquer is working. The ignorant masses of the Far Right assume authority of truth when they are just the sleepwalking puppets of the corporate machine. There is much talk of how we have strayed from the constitution and such, but that is the point. That is why we have survived for this long. That is why America is what it is, we change as needed.[...]

I think the Militia's etc are on to something, and I agree they make valid points, and I'm not necessarily adverse to some kind of Vanguard movement, I also think that the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, Constitution and the ideals of the Founding Fathers are very important. But I agree as you point out that they are documents and people particular to that time. If the Militias' etc, took their ideas that one step further, they would probably realise they are "Socialist" in nature anyway. Gotta move forward, not backward.

Well we could use this energy, but like it or not the right and left are going to have to
meet in the middle and AGREE on specific goals based on common principle. This is the
only way to keep one of the two parties from swallowing any grassroots movement.
The next consideration is could that happen? We are stuck until a group comes with NEW ideas based upon solutions, not IDEAS. Base the solutions on ideas, but make the solutions workable ideas based on tangible things, not just words.

PS: I just laid flower on her grave
