Go to your local coffee shop and report what your hearing.

From one of my friends in the US :

I'm at the coffee shop this morning. There are normally 10-12 people in here. This morning are 30-40, people are saying things like 'revolt' and 'revolution', one man has just said, "This is what will get it started! They aren't listening to us! What other choice have we got?"

There are 40 people here and everyone of them has anger for the Congress and President on their lips.

Anyone interested in REAL ACTION for once and not just wasting time on internet??

I'll tell you REAL ACTION. Sell all of your stocks and withdraw the money from your brokerage. Totally liquidate your individual stock holdings, your 401K, your mutual funds, whatever. Dump it all. Take the money and run. Don't leave it in your broker's cash fund either. Pull it all. Pull it out and deposit it into as many local state banks as necessary to remain fully insured. Split it all up and deposit it into 50 bank accounts if needed.

Cash in all your stocks, close out your 401k's and your retirement funds and you'll be setting yourself up for a MASSIVE tax liability for 2010!

Especially if you happen to be under 59 1/2 years old.

Keep your wits about you.

Don't make "The End of The World" a self-fulfilling prophesy.

And to note: Isn't curious how, where there once were only 10-12 people in that coffee shop, there now appear to be 30-40 folks, willing and able to spend $3.00-$4.00 on a cup of coffee?

I find that ....ironic.

Well, I am in a bar right now, there are about 6 people here, 1 is retired, 3 are unemployed, and they all are more or less happy about the bill.

No thoughts of revolution, traffic is moving, businesses are open, no roving gangs of pissed off "patriots" stalking liberals on the streets gunning them down.

You guys go on ahead. I'll be along in a little bit. Gosh...30 or 40 of ya's? I don't think we could hold McDonalds with that. We may end up needing more partiots before launching the big one.

Yeah. Then start shopping for stuff at locally owned and operated businesses. Keep off the national grid, man.

Not necessarily, you could move your retirement money via a 1035 exchange tax free to a bank CD IRA or an Annuity. Granted the interest would not be great, but it wouldn't necessarily give you a tax burden. I would sell stocks this year that you have gains on as the Capital Gains rate will increase in 2011 by a factor of 33% (from 15% to 20%).

I do agree with your basic premise though, don't act emotionally with your finances, that will only get you in trouble. Keep your wits about you.

Couldn't you go over to Pontiac and just say that it was roving gangs of Patriots hunting down the Liberal traitors...well when the gang-bangers wake up around noon-3pm, that is?

Any public talk of revolution is not talk of revolution. It is just blowing off steam. Besides the vote may be over but the issue is not done and over yet. There are a few unanswered questions to be addressed.

Oh well.

I dumped my Pfizer stocks today. To hell with them.

I can't understand why the markets are cheering this stupid bill and total and complete rape of America. I don't want any part of it.

I'll admit I did hold onto Boeing because I want to see more weapons and more war.

Heh, well speaking of McDonalds, I heard the exact same thing this morning when I went for breakfast. And what is weird is this came from one of the long time drive through employees.

I pull up and she recognizes me (been going there over 3 years), and I say hey what's going on, and she says "It's been crazy around here- people keep talking of starting a revolution. After the vote yesterday on the healthcare bill, man people are PISSED!"

Now needless to say, I acted surprised. Of course I wasn't really, but I was surprised to hear it from her. For one thing, she has never ever been the talkative type or made small talk whatsoever with me before. Always just polite and strictly business.

Not a bad idea except I would buy physical silver with most of it and only deposit the bare minimum needed in a small local bank. The monetary system is in the midst of collapse right now and has been for a while, this is only the eye of the storm the worst is yet to come!

This is pretty terrible advice CV.

What about the tax burden you will endure for this?

Def. not worth it especially in a bull market.

Best advice to you would be to dump all your bear ETF's but we have already had that talk.

Don't worry, real action is coming. I hear the rumblings as well and those rumblings will indeed erupt soon.

Just keep your ear to the ground.

I would just like to say that “we will tolerate no rebels or guerillas in the casinos or the swimming pools!”

The beaches are naturally strictly off limits too.

If rioting must occur please be respectful to others and do not begin any noisy rioting before 9:00 AM and try to wrap it up no later than 9:00 PM. (Please make sure to get your Riot Permits at least 48 hours in advance and to make sure you can pay the Permit fee of $10.00 in cash or credit/debit card as no checks will be accepted)

Please observe all local traffic laws and stop signs.

Please put all litter in designated receptacles.

If you intend to make your revolution or riot into a video game, TV series or movie please make sure to visit the Copy Right office well in advance of launching it.

Emergency, Fire, Rescue and Police services may be interrupted during the course of your riot/revolution so please make sure to have at least a three days supply of all vital prescription medicines, batteries, radios and other emergency essentials on hand before beginning your riot/revolution.

Please remember that the Health Care Bill has not been signed into law yet so please make sure to have your present insurance card handy or a suitable sum of cash or available credit through a credit card in case you are injured during the course of the riot/revolution.

Rioters/Revolutionaries and Patriots meeting at Coffee Shops for rendezvous points should consider switching to Sanka or other decaffeinated beverages to avoid becoming cranky or over wound.

Now lets have a good clean revolution/riot (I do mean clean too, pick up after yourselves people) and remember to secure all permits and pay all fees in advance and follow all the posted guidelines on the back of the Permit.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Management

Well geographically and politically speaking I suppose your regional sociological backround of the average patron in your area has something to do with what you heard.

When I went to Starbucks this morning, it was quite the opposite.

Pay tax now or pay tax later. What does it matter if the formula is correct? You make more by trading instead of buying and holding. The problem is you have to trade correctly. Obviously if you don't, then you make less than buying and holding, in some situations.

In a bull market? Who said so? You?

Good thing we are still talking. I'm still waiting patiently for the temporary market collapse.

You first!

You can start by actually walking the talk you know? It doesnt help you insisting somebody else do it while you stay in the comfort of your own home behind a computer screen.
