Rush Limbaugh on Haiti Tragedy

Lets give the guy a break. It's his job. If he wasn't indulging in such rhetoric his ad revenue would dry up. As long as his show remains profitable he's free to say what he likes. People don't listen to hear him talk about peace and love. Love him or loathe he's found his niche.

Whoa, apparently we have quite the Rush fan here.

First, Harry Reid is not the Speaker of the House.

Second, the comment about a light-skinned black man without a negro dialect was a little odd - it sounded completely out of place in modern vernacular - but it was nothing like extolling the virtues of a Dixiecrat President. If you weren't aware, the Dixiecrats ran on a platform of segregation and racism.

Yet this is a man who HATES white people. Called a White cop stupid for doing his job. Then sat in a Church that preached hatred of the White man and did so for 20 yrs.

Obama is half white...

But because Rush calls a racist a racist, if that racist is black, then they have no choice but to call Rush a racist in order to not be exposed for the party of bigots that they are. A little reminder, it was the Democratic Party that held up and threatened to filibuster the Civil Rights act. Thats right, it was the Republican Party, that got it passed, despite Democratic opposition.

The Republican and Democratic parties have changed dramatically over the past century. Democrats used to be solidly Southern party (which is why the Dixiecrats were Dixiecrats and not Dixiecans). There was a huge ideological shift in both parties in the latter half of the 20th century.

Not once has Rush Limbaugh demeaned someone for their skin color, but only for their actions. It is men & women on the right like Rush, who stood up for Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzalez and other minorities because of the content of their character. So, if you actually care about racism, serve the cause with your heart & mind, and not just give it lip service. The topic of race should be dead and gone in the 21st Century, it isn't though, it seems to be goo that holds the Left together.

Rush is a hypocritical fool that pits people against one another for his own profit, and he smiles all the way to the bank every day knowing he has lemmings that hang on his every word.

Finally, when speeking about hypocracy, know the facts. Anyone on the left pointing fingers, is NO different than the local Imams who sit by quietly as Terror fills the skys, and privately applaud it. Any Democrat worth 2 pennies would've called for Harry Reid seat IMMEDIATELY, but just as Islam is not the Religion of peace as they would like you to believe, the Democrat party is the racist party of sitting Klansmen, racist Speakers of the House, Racist Presidents, racist preachers and racist policies.

Typical tactic. What else would you like to falsely associate with those on the left? NeoCons like Rush like to try and smack the Communist, Socialist, Nazi, Fascist, labels on anyone who doesn't tote their line on a daily basis. I guess we could add that Democrats are also Islamic Jihadists that applaud the slaughter of innocent American lives?

Grow up a little bit or learn better tactics. Smart people can easily see through your message.

For all the complaining people have done over Katrina, why is it that the most overlooked fact was it was a state emergency and somehow it became Bush's fault? Do people just have to wait for the government to help them? That failure started at the local level! Anyway where is this money for aid coming from? The US is sending relief but I'd like to know how they are balancing the books on this.

While I'll agree with you that responsibility starts at the local and state level, it does not stop there, only starts. As to who is ultimately responsible for any emergency of the scope of Katrina, well there is a sign that should have become a permanent part of the Resolute desk in the Oval Office:

I agree it was a fail on how the top responded but... Why is that the only focus? Very little criticism of the other levels of government and how they reacted. Someday there will be a disaster that will make sending rescue crews and supplies difficult, then what will people do? I'll tell you, die because they will expect help and have not done anything to help save themselves. Everybody it seems expects the US to help when there is a problem. Even our citizens expect to sit back and wait for help to come. With this disaster in Haiti we are sending personal and supplies to help, just like Mexico and Canada to name the countries I have heard mentioned. It is expected for the US to help, I wonder how the world would act if we were unable to help.

Yeah, UW-Madison is alright, but it sure would be better without all of the affirmative action afforded to the upstaters.

Just because you are delusional enough to think he is the antichrist, or kenyan, or gay, or whatever the slander of the day is, does not mean I think he is god. He is the president, a fallible man doing the best in a rather impossible situation.

Sometimes presidents act out of humanitarian compassion. The response of our president and many of our countrymen has been entirely appropriate under the circumstances.

That's what I thought about you, but I can't reconcile what you say with your seeming support of Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the most influential peddlers of propaganda for TPTB, no?

If you and I were on a team tasked with overhauling the government, I believe we could possibly come-up with some good measures that could be agreed upon.

I know you see the Dems. and the GOP as the same, but I don't. I really do understand what you mean, but if we looked at shades of grey, the GOP is clearly more closely associated with TPTB.

P.S. My girlfriend is from Wausau. Her mom usually votes dem, her dad rep. He has lots of guns in the basement. We get along just fine, thank you. On the way back to Madison (where I am born and raised, and thankfully has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country), we listened to talk radio. If you were in the car with us, I know we would have had a good laugh at the intelligence of the discourse.

She confronted him about the Haiti situation and the light skin, dark skin issue. She admitted she got her information from the Huffington Post!
