She was trespassing, and on top of that, was looking into his house. She even walked by a second time, looking......a second time! Somebody forgot to show me the rules on when I should or shouldn't be undressed in my home! I guess I've been lucky up till now!
Personally, for me to walk by an dlook into someone's window, or even an open door, I feel awkward. I feel like I'm invading their privacy. I feel I would be embarrassed if they caught me doing it, so, I don't do it. Neither should this bored woman.

I don't know about that, heyo, the article says nothing about trespassing. This mother and her child were simply walking along a path outside of this man's house, that doesn't mean they were trespassing.

This is an old story, I remember the thread on it before. From what I remember she was trespassing. I suppose I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure. It would not be the first time.

I didn't like this story when I first heard about it, now I just hate it. It's infuriating and only because I honestly see both sides of this. Both of them are stupid, in our bs 'nudity is the end of the world society' the guy should have known better than to put himself in that situation.

On the other hand the lady is an adult and should have had the sense to make sure the child wasn't looking and maybe keep an eye out for the naked guy next time. Ridiculous, all of it. If I had to choose a side I'd go with the guy here, yes my house is viewable from the street, no that doesn't mean you should peer in my windows you nosy b###h.

UPDATE

Well, it looks like this guy fought this and won. After spending thousands in legal fees of course.

Va. jury: Naked in own home not indecent

Prosecutors, two women say man intended to expose himself

FAIRFAX, Va. - A man charged with indecent exposure after two women said they saw him naked inside his own home was acquitted Wednesday by a Virginia jury.

Erick Williamson, 29, has argued since his October arrest that he should not be punished for being naked in the privacy of his own home.

Police and prosecutors, as well as the two women who testified against him, said he intended to expose himself and made no attempt to conceal himself in a residential neighborhood filled with children.

"It's really a weight off my shoulders after these last six months," Williamson said after his acquittal. "I think (the verdict) kind of sets the record straight. It was an innocent action."

In December, a judge in Fairfax County's General District Court convicted Williamson of misdemeanor indecent exposure, but imposed neither jail time nor a fine. Still, Williamson appealed his case to the county's circuit court, risking a maximum punishment of a year in jail to clear his name.

"When you know you've done nothing wrong, it's hard to take these kind of accusations and not stand up to it," said Williamson, an out-of-work commercial diver who racked up thousands of dollars in legal fees.

Well I bet his lawyers are very happy with this one, after all, they racked up several thousands of bucks in legal fees from some poor out of work driver.

I guess he feels it was worth it to clear his name. Now I hope he sues the crap outta those ladies for peeking in on him.

Seems like we have another symptom of a general lack of respect. It's silliness. Ca-ching rings the cash register of justice. Naked guy in his house, don't look - it's no threat to society if the observer does their part. A public display obviously may cause offense, but is it criminal even then?
At most wouldn't this be some kind of tort between the offended party and the nudist? If the man's private conduct and attire was a problem for society, then perhaps the people should erect a screen, for surely it not be natural to require man to hide and cower on his own land so that sight of him not offend the community - and if so should it not then be the responsibility of the community to share the burden to hide nakedness?

Sorry to get all waxy on ya.

I saw this the other day and got a laugh outta it.

I figured I'd post it here because it seems relevant to the story:

Topless Women Walk Through Portland

Some peoples' jaws hit the ground, plenty of men showed up with cameras, and others - including parents with their children - were just plain offended as dozens of woman walked through downtown Portland without their tops on Saturday.

The organizer, Ty MacDowell, says she set up the event (with a police escort) because she could. Maine's nudity laws only apply to exposed genitals. MacDowell says the event was set up to bring attention to a double standard, which was on display as several men walked along topless with the women.

One thing MacDowell says surprised her was the amount of men who showed up with cameras. "I'm really upset by the men - all the men that are here, just like watching it like it's a parade."

"We should be able to walk down the street and not have this many men taking pictures of us," a participant shouted.

Some people we spoke with say they were upset at the spectacle, saying children were present, on a sunny Saturday in the Old Port - a busy time for family outings.

The walk went off without any problems. Organizers say they expect to plan similar events in the future.

I love this one. They did it just because they could and then complained when a bunch of guys showed up with cameras.

The link has a news video of the event. Don't get too excited guys, they pixilated out all of the good stuff.

Where does it say any of this in the link suplied in the OP? It says that she was walking by on the sidewalk outside of his house. She saw him first through an open door..and then through a window. I don't know what makes you think that she would have to walk by twice for this to happen. And why would a woman trespass on someones property in the morning while taking her son to school? Come on.

The guy was naked, in front of an open door and then a window in clear view of the street. That tells me that he wanted to be seen naked. So much so that he moved from the open door..to the window in order for them to see him some more as they walked on down the road.

He deserves it for being stupid and most probably some kind of deprived pervert aswell.

EDIT: Oh snap! I see that he had the verdict over turned. What is the world coming to when someone can expose themselves from a window as children walk by on their way to school in the morning and get away with it. Well, at least he has the legal fees to pay so that's something.

It is so sad that this even has to be a law. Its even sadder that there is a law against it and he didn't even get charged with breaking it. What is this world coming to. Who honeslty stands naked in front of an open door and window in clear view of the sidewalk. I am completely dumbfounded that anyone is making any attempt to defend this pervert! What is wrong with you people? This is not a violation of privacy in any way. This is rude and inconsiderate of the people you live with. I completely agree with the poster that said the community should erect a screen in front of his house. It is so sad that common courtesy becomes a matter of law.

How is he a pervert?

So if you happened to be walking along the street and you casually glanced in through the window of someone's home and you saw a naked person stood there, you'd call the police?

I mean what would say to the police? "There is a naked man!"

"Where?"

"Erm...in his own home."

The fact that police even gave this woman the time of a day is a indictment itself upon American society and how ludicrous it has become.
The saying "Only in America" certainly rings true here, like never before.
