Nun Claims Sex is Rife Within Catholic Church

The book by the former nun reveals how as a young novice she was propositioned in the confession box by a priest who cited biblical references to "divine kisses". Later she was cornered by a lesbian nun at a college where they were teaching. "She would come to my bed in the night and do lewd acts and I could not stop her," she claims.

When she was sent to Bangalore to stay with a priest known for his piety, he lectured her about the need for "physical love" and later assaulted her. "Back in his room, he tried to fondle me and when I resisted, got up and asked angrily if I had seen a man. When I said no, he stripped himself, ejaculated and forced me to strip," she writes.

According to Sister Jesme, senior church officials twice tried to admit her into rehabilitation clinics and claimed she had mental problems after she complained about the scale of sexual abuse and the number of illicit affairs between nuns and priests.

This is the sort of thing that lifelong forced celibacy breeds, among other heinous acts; child rape and torture come to mind.
I've heard about this sort of thing before, priests forcing themselves upon nuns, knowing that they won't speak out, out of shame. And if they do manage to gather to courage to do so, well then they're clearly mentally unstable and need to be sent in for reprogramming and reeducation. It makes me sick.

It makes you wonder how much longer the Catholic Church can possibly last, not being able to go for a day without a brand new scandal involving rape, torture, blackmail or extortion. How much longer can some people convince themselves, "oh it's only a few bad ones and there's bad people everywhere"?

Lifetime Celibacy is Insane unless you desire and choose it if not you'll go nuts, complete Celibacy as mandatory is ridiculous...

I have actually practiced celibacy, including masturbatory for as much as a year...

And from experience, it is really really good for you sometimes...

Physically, Mentally, Life wise... in almost every way...

FOR A TIME... but given enough time, the need for human contact will turn you the opposite direction, it's not healthy to not be touched and to never... ever...

These things started as methods to over come our animal side and became something else, rules to be followed against common sense...

Like anything else in Life, it can be good for you in the right dose and bad for you if done too long... Celibacy, fantastic for strengthening the Libido, learning to achieve sexual expression without perversion, learning to desire from a pure place of Love rather than be controlled purely by your privates...

For Six months... I highly recommend it, it's like Women can smell it, like your Pheromones build up, you become much more attractive...

Beyond that... or much longer, it has the opposite effect, loneliness, desperation, ill health fantasies that lead to Obsessions and perversions...

Celibacy for life...for most, is a sentence of Mental Illness, I'm quite sure, the practice started from Good beneficial Righteous Ideas... and became stupid over time...

It's believed as many as 50% of priests could be pedophiles, so this does not surprise me.

I highly recommend you watch the Penn & Tellers "Bull#" episode regarding the Vatican pedophilia cover up. It's shocking. But as the christians say.. those sodomized boys... that was the path god chose for them and who are we to question it?

I was raised in strict catholic terms and I remember as a child being told by a priest that masturbators would burn in hellfire and that white hot worms would chew on the “nether regions” of all masturbators.

It would seem that to be celibate is for god but apparently against nature and being celibate for so long is not only bad for the soul but is literally bad for the body too.

I find it no surprise to read the OP and to find that there is a high rate of deviant sexual practices within the Catholic Church and also a higher than average risk of prostate cancer within those who do manage to control their sexual urges.

As some other posts mentioned forced celibacy may indeed be a good part of this whole sex scandle that has rocked the Catholic church in the last decade or so. I'm not sure but I wonder if some of these priests join up to get away from temptation only to find later that that whole athmosphere of the church just makes them succumb all the more. Yes I suppose some join because it's a great way to cover up your "forbidden" activities. Who's going to suspect a priest!? Well today I suppose that would be everybody! I know other churches don't enforce celibacy, it does not say anything about this in the bible as far as I know. The last scandal here in Canada is with that Bishop Raymond Lahey fellow. The guy tries to set up a way to help compensate victims of child abuse by priests in his parish with donated church funds only to be found with child porn all over his own computer, go figure I personally don't care if Sister Mary and Father O'Rielly have a little tryst in the rectory basement, big deal but when it comes to kids that is something that should not only be aknowledged by the Catholic church that child abuse does take place, also that there are many priests that are guilty of it and do something about it instead of shuffling these pedophile criminals around to other parishes.

I totally agree with the OP.

It is not natural to have celibacy forced upon people ... if it is their own choice that is different.

I've always thought that forced celibacy goes against the will God because it's unatural.

In all honesty I can't believe anyone would be surprised by a headline like this ... it is a repeating pattern amongst the headlines relative to the Catholic Church ... surely this must tell them something !

There is NOTHING christian about the vatican. Catholicism is just another extension of the babylonian mystery religion full of blood and idolatory. Their priests were celibate, had to confess their "sins" in a confessional, prayed for the dead, prayed to a "divine" mother (semiramus), wore the same robes and head dress and the list goes on.. It is soooo far away from true christianity as you can get which is why it is called the "Great whore, who is drunk with the blood of the saints."

The "religion" is not a part of the "teachings" for what it professes.
The catholic doctrine is not christ or allah.
It turns flowers into rocks and water into sand.

Since many members of ATS like to spend part (a large part?) of their pastime criticizing the Catholic church and blaming it for most of the world's ills - or in this thread all of the world's sexually abused children - I thought that a little 'reality' might be in order.

THIS keeps track of all the Jewish clergy (Rabbi's) that are tied to child sexual abuse cases.

THIS article talking about Jehovah's Witnesses and their problems with child sexual abuse.

Notice how the above 3 links have nothing to do with Catholicism - or more importantly show that child sexual abuse isn't confined to one religion or Christian denomination.

Child sexual abuse took place before the Catholic church and, unfortunately, will probably take place after the Catholic church is gone (or greatly reduced).

Child sexual abuse also takes place away from religious organizations - notice the prevalence of online child pornography and the resulting accusations and arrests.

There are also the stories, from Asia and Africa, of marriages with under age girls that make it into the MSM once in a while - and I'm confident that it happens a lot more than reported.

And the stories of grown men kidnapping and raping underage girls, and having children with them - US and Germany are examples of countries where this has recently taken place.

After Thought: I wasn't even aware of the proliferation of sexual abuse within Judaism until I looked into sexual abuse and how it relates to non-Catholic religious organizations. And, in the spirit of conspiracies, I think that it helps support the idea/argument of a Jewish controlled and manipulated media (unfortunately).

Having said that, denial of natural motivations is folly.

Chosen celibacy is one thing, forced is another entirely and is not mentally rewarding or healthy in the least.

With the on boarding of married clergy with the Roman Catholics attempting to usurp the Anglicans, you will see that celibacy relaxed and rc priests will be able to marry.

Lifelong celibacy does not bring about child molestation in people, stop stereotyping people, its dangerous.

People can live without sex, and a certain percentage of all of us, do never want sex in our lifes. So be careful how you try to label others.
