July 29, 2009 -- Updated 0220 GMT (1020 HKT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. military wants to establish regional teams of military personnel to assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials.

The proposal is awaiting final approval from Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

The officials would not be identified because the proposal from U.S. Northern Command's Gen. Victor Renuart has not been approved by the secretary.

The plan calls for military task forces to work in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. There is no final decision on how the military effort would be manned, but one source said it would likely include personnel from all branches of the military.

It has yet to be determined how many troops would be needed and whether they would come from the active duty or the National Guard and Reserve forces.

Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home.

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

One thing I've noticed is that all of the news articles talking about the H1N1 "National Emergency" liken it to what's done before a hurricane makes landfall.

I live in Michigan and there are school closings everywhere. Many people have the flu..but almost everyone I've heard of that knows someone who has had it...they won't actually tell them it's H1N1. They tell them it's Type A flu...but probably not H1N1. ANyone else been hearing this?

Hey BH, nice to see you again, doom and gloom is the game I guess.

As for the declaration from Bush, up until September of last year I was too busy with a 14 building, 12 acre commercial site I was building, to pay any attention to much of anything but my work. The current idiots in Washington have to realize that the Wars and the Economy is what they should be worrying about. All of the other crap is misdirection and bull.

The whole situation here in the US is slowly circling the drain. If you have everyone working their asses off, they will not have any time to be worrying about which Senator or Representative is cheating on their taxes or other corrupt things. These are the things that need to be addressed.

Everything the One promised have been completely ignored to just help the Mega Corps, Banks and the other elitists.

This is just another distraction. Just like the rest.

And yes I like to exaggerate and sensationalize things sometimes. This, by the way is not one of the MSM outlets. Of course if it was, would it me much different?

After Billionaires Plundered Alamama Town Troops Were Called In Illegally

The Army officially agrees that its occupation of the Alabama streets was illegal, according to an internal report the Associated Press got a hold of, following a Freedom of Information Act filing:

An Army investigation found that soldiers should not have been sent to man traffic stops in a small Alabama town after 11 people were killed in March during a shooting spree.

An Army report released to the Associated Press on Monday in response to a Freedom of Information Act request said the decision to dispatch military police to Samson from nearby Fort Rucker broke the law. But an Army spokesman said no charges have been filed following the Aug. 10 report.

This is true, the test ONLY tests for Flu Type A or B, to further sub-type it takes another test that my doctor said I'd pay an arm and a leg for, so, no, they aren't testing beyond the two types (15 minute test in Doctor office).

Right. SO they are doing this to probably keep people from freaking out? You won't hear the local news here talk about people actually getting sick by H1N1...just that people are getting sick.

It's scary crap. My daycare person just had 2 kids sick with flu so I stayed home and missed work (WHICH SUCKS) because I was to afraid my daughter might get it. She's only 3 months old and it worries me to death that she might get it.

Have you read the National Emergencies Act, which President Obama has authorised a emergency under? Don't forget, the Executive Order that President Bush signed that increases the powers during an emergency.

Are you familiar with the power the Health Secretary now has, including waiving Section 1135 of the Social Society Act?

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services explains that under a declared emergency, facilities granted a Section 1135 waiver no longer need to obtain a patient's agreement to speak with family members or friends involved in the patient's care, no longer need to distribute a notice of their privacy practices and no longer need to honour the patient's right to request privacy restrictions or confidential communications.

Under the National Emergencies Act, the President gets control of the national guard. His choice, however, if the troops are used. Congress approval is not needed.

I have not. But I have read all the terrible things he COULD do under this emergency. The NERVE he potentially has! Unfortunately for the hysteria crowd, it's highly unlikely that he will be doing any of those things.

It says this:

President Obama's school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain. The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus.

I heard that this was going to happen last week. We recieved info from the state and then called all the seniors in at the school and told them that President Obama may call off all public schools for 3 weeks due to National Emergency. We told them about it because it will effect their senior trip, grading periods, sports games, etc.

This kind of stuff worries me, I wonder what's really going on with out government.

Do you seriously believe that anything that was crucial to the health of Obama's two daughters would be unavailable to them at any time? I do not believe that for one minute unless he and Michelle don't give a crap about them, and I believe they do.

Don't get me wrong mate (and all of you guys and gals who post similar things), i agree with you 100%, but seriously...handguns, shotguns and the odd rifle here and there isn't going to buy you very much time against a heavily armed and well trained section or unit of those you'd be firing at would it.

I really mean it when i say i know how you feel, but i'm interested in hearing how isolated pockets of one or two individuals here and there, are going to have any other outcome, that the swift slaughter of yourselves and probably your families in the crossfire/grenade/light armored vehicle, large caliber gun fire?

How do you expect to survive an armed conflict at your property? If the small arms units retreat instead of attacking, riot vehicle or air support couldn't be far away...and if reinforced concrete bunkers can't defend against some of the weapons available to your attackers in the Gulf and similar wars, a shingle roof and thin concrete basement are not going to offer much protection...

A single shooter hovering in a chopper making use of thermal imaging assisted targeting, could spot your or you families body heat to pinpoint, the shoot right through the roof, the floors, and you...and still bury itself in the ground beneath your home, quite easily using a sufficient caliber gun.

Say you take a few of those who are trying to harm you and yours - out, then what? What happens next? Where will you and your family go? How will you live, assuming you got away? Unless there is significant armed defense of life and limb, by the ordinary citizenry all over the place...you will be wiped out, fast. I'm sorry, but it's true..you know it is.

Do you have any NBC gear to combat gas? Any IR or thermal imaging gear to counter smoke and loss of utilities at night?

There are other things you could do...there must be. I'm highly, HIGHLY suspicious of all of this..and to tell the truth, i've been worrying like hell about it all. But even though i know something is very wrong, i'm hoping it's just about old fashioned corruption and greed..as usual. Drug firms 'lobbying' government officials, and everyone involved get's that much richer...all except those that die along the way Billions and billions upon more billions and billions, they would consider them acceptable losses. But hey, now they cannot even be sued! So...sweeeet. Think of the repeat business.

As perverse as it sounds, i'm hoping it's that. Better the devil you know...

I'm rambling, apologies but please think carefully about any violence...this pandemic farce and potentially deadly vaccine may kill you, disable you, give you a host of time activated 'conditions' for repeat business, tag you - either electronically or genetic/radioactive isotope markers or whatever, then again, it may do nothing to most of us. The key word is *may*. We don't know what it's all about. Not really. The thing is though, one you're involved in the kind of action that some of you are talking about, there is no more may, or maybe about it. It can only end one or two ways...you or you and your family could be dead..or at best, arrested, kids in care, and in a cell for life...at best. If you killed anyone, you could be executed.

Think about it carefully.

you hear talk about grabbing the guns and revolting.. but sadly it will get us no where.. but 6' under.

What we need to do as a country, and all wake up and make them take notice..

One problem also with the rapid flu test is that it is only 60% accurate. This means it has a 40% fail rate....which is another reason a lot of doctors do not use it in order to make a diagnosis. It is based on symptoms.

So who knows what we really have. All I know is that I have become ill with the same thing everyone around me here has. Whether it's the swine fiu or some other viral illness.....

But to declare a national emergency? Either the government knows something we don't. or it is a manipulative move for something bigger. Only time will tell.

You are correct on both assumptions.

Seasonal deaths will be included within Swine Flu cases - to scare the population. Mass graves will be mentioned during the holiday season.

President Obama and his health team have dictatorial powers for two years. He can, theoretically, abolish right to assembly (i.e shut down Congress) if the outbreak is wide spread in all 48 States and 2 Commonwealths
