Vets and hunters wont make it against satellite surveillance and special ops soldiers. You sound like you and your hunting mates can put up a serious fight against a high tech oppressive regime. You cant, because they wont fight you on equal terms.
The only thing ordinary people have going for them is numbers. And you will need everybody, including PC geeks. The french revolution was not fought by ex-soldiers, it was fought by a large number of people. Thats why it worked.
