I just took the test..just to see....and I checked off three of the questions......results said:

"You're empathetic, loyal and introspective. In other words there's no way you're a sociopath...but you can spot one pretty easily!"

I think they are really good questions....and ones we should ask about the people we let into or are already in our lives.....just because someone is a relative and/or they are friends that we love......doesn't mean that they are not sociopaths...I think we all need to wake up and question ourselves about the people in our lives.

I think you have to be careful with questions you ask like that of people in your lives. Many have been guilty of some of these questions, but does that mean you will always be that way?..someone lying once to get their way, could have been over a very important matter, and maybe even for the well being of another.
I'm just saying ..if you ask some of these questions to a potential partner...lets say the cheating one,and they answer yes..do you disregard them as a potential partner,or do you give them kudos for being honest? On that same note, if you ask a liar a question, will you get a straight answer?

I know for a fact I'm not the cheating type, but yes I have cheated, and not proud of it. I think you need to understand the reasons behind certain actions before making some grand judgement.
I agree that this is a good measuring stick to look at peoples character attributes, but keep in mind ,like the ol' saying." Because you have stolen once,it does not make you a thief" (depending I guess on what you have stolen)

Another simple truth is that people really do like sweet lies over bitter truths any day of the week. Its the reason I chose my signature. Im a crappy candy maker. I am honest as the day is long, but I have no skill at all at sweetening it up in order to sell it.

And, for the record, I am tall, moderately above average looking, athletic, intelligent, etc. None of that helps me one little bit when I am pegged against a sociopath in terms of winning the group. Especially in situations where words not actions speak most loudly, like on the internet. In real life, I do much better. Because I actually WILL show up to help you move, or take you to the hospital in the middle of the night, or stand between you and the person trying to hit you. But on a board? None of that matters.

Its all about sweet, sweet lies, ego flattery, charm, and the gift of gab. Its a shame. But its why propaganda works so well. People want to be told what they want to believe and anyone who will do that has them.

I so agree with you on this, but at the same time,I think a persons character eventually, over many posts, comes out with text on the net.

You appear to have a very solid type character to me,and you are probably admired more than you realize.

I think thats why they do percentages. You can answer several of those questions in the affirmative and not get branded by the test as a sociopath. And of course people should not be judged for a few mistakes, or even a few character flaws. You just dont want people in your life whose main goal in life is to exploit others.

Thats very kind of you. Thank you. Although to be honest, I tend to suspect that I appeal more to people who also have a pretty solid character. Like attracts like, most of the time. But predators will look for anyone in a moment of weakness.

Lol. You know, there is a healthy balance of self interest and altruism, so I agree with you. And I was teasing you. You really arent borderline.

I know you were teasing
I found a site where there are more tests like this....and it's pretty interesting. All kinds of psychiatric tests.....I will probably have to commit myself after taking them all
It's kind of fun ....however I WON'T be publishing my results for these!

Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out www.psywww.com...

I appear to have sociopathic and megalomaniac tendencies but this couldn't be further from reality. I go so far as to check my swimming pool daily to remove any critters and when I find an insect inside my home I seek trying to place it back outside. I nurture strays and find them their owners etc. but where I appear "sociopathic" is my exterior callousness to people in plight who are outside my realm of assistance. This has come from years of experience dealing with crisis after crisis however and I simply have been conditioned to turn a blind eye to what I cannot affect (or what cannot be prevented) for self-preservation purposes.

basically, if a man gets shot dead before my eyes I would not lose a minute's sleep that night as it's spilled milk (I'm very desensitized to gore/violence etc. too, so the image wouldn't affect me either)...but if he was about to get shot and I saw I could prevent it I would do everything in my power to do so. That's the way I am. That is superior mental conditioning.

Legend....from what I know of you there are no worries....you have a good heart! You know, you can't tell everything from these tests....there are just to many variables. For example, some of the questions had choices where none of them fit me, so I had to pick the "closest" one to what I would say....so technically, it isn't an accurate score. Well...I have to get my borderline butt to work
Catch you later!

I didn't take any test yet, I meant that's what some people have said before about me (that I "appear" to have etc. tendencies) because I express not caring about when person X or Y dies (famous people e.g. celebrities or royalty) and other instances of controlled callousness.

Ty for your words tho, that was sweet. I will be sure to take one or more of these tests and post the results later.
Uhoh, work is calling! Will talk to you next time you're lounging like a kitty.

I think maybe some people checked boxes because most of these things depend on your measure of what level is considered excessive.

Take the first question, "You break laws? (even big ones)?

Everyone breaks laws, just by getting into a car, you can't help but break laws, so what are big ones? Murder, rape, robbery, grand theft, fraud are mostly what they are looking for.

You have a love hate relationship with your parents? Who doesn't, at some level, even really boring people. Do you love your parents, talk to them regularly, or when they were alive, without bad fights.

It's hard for you to be loyal? It should be hard to be loyal. Loyalty isn't something that should be handed out easily. Can you be loyal to people who earn their loyalty?

You break people's trust? Umm, typically, many people are eager to find any excuse to claim that their trust has been broken, to justify their own miscreant activities. Do you break the trust of people who you want to trust you is the real question, an even then were you wrong to do so, and did you feel bad about it and vow to never repeat the mistake?

You are very good at manipulating people and situations? Everyone thinks they are good at manipulating others, and we all do it, but do you constantly work to manipulate others and situations to get what you want irregardless of the what you wind up doing to others?

Your relationships tend to be short? Most relationships tend to be short, unless you live in a small town, and have had the same job for a long time, which is unusual in these days. Do you have more than a few long term relationships, still talk to school mates?
