Sorry 'bout that. Bad spellin is probably why I went into the mercenary trade, instead of becoming a Corporate raider

But seriously, I'm down with whatever you'd prefer. All it takes is changing a letter in the script file for the ship. No problem.

I know what you mean about the interjections. I think it will end up much like a novel written by Robert Jordan or Steven Erikson... every chapter is told from a different point of view, switching characters even in the middle of a chapter when it works. It adds a nice twist to the flow... any reader who's really interested what Antar is up to (side-plots and what not) will have to read the next 5 chapters before being able to pick up with where your last one left it. The suspense!

I'm also hoping you balanced-headed species are firm in your beliefs... Scurvy is a disease and I intend for my character to live up to his namesake.

You know us diseases just can't win. What if I were cancer? Or tuberculosis? They're not fair or humane! Why do I have to be?

I'm going to post the new thread (as it is now). I think we're ready.

A link to it will be added to THIS POST.

Go to your spanking new ships, grab your bunks and get chatting with your shipmates but post only within your ROLE.

The Captains will muster the crews when they're ready to depart.

I love it!

The Rigellians from Star Trek were "turtle-people", I almost view this as a tribute to our more famous counterparts... what with the beak on the ship and it having (in an abstract way) a hollow shell as a body.

Looks like sentiment is running pretty strongly in favor of that design, with the Captain's opinion being the primary deciding factor, so if there aren't objections, that's what I'll set up in the software. Masqua will have to change the picture in the initial post on the other thread.

This is one of the things I do for a hobby, and I thank you folks for providing the opportunity to experiment!

Being a Glossary of Terms Useful in Critiquing Science Fiction by David Smith

Hi All!

I hope everyone will take a moment and check out the above link.

I think it will be really helpful for everyone entering into the Space Opera.

It’s not available for cut paste or I’d a stuck it up here.

Truly a goldmine of information!

Enjoy and Have fun!

peace

Ok, the villain got me. Set everything up for the starship design he preferred - then he blew his brains out on account of not liking the starship design.

How's that for life in the real world?

And so, on the very first post to the Space Opera, we have a role player who decided to leave this universe.

Was the post off topic?

No

Should it be removed?

I'd vote to keep it. Sets a dark stage for the opera, though, doesn't it?
