I can't imagine anything too valuable being stored in that trailer with a lock like that.

5 seconds with a large pair of bolt cutters and you're in.

now if it had barbed wire around it, then we could say it was a mobile FEMA camp

Yeah I agree, the lock looks pretty tame.

That parking lot is well covered by cameras though and has live
armed guards manning them as well.

There are government offices in that building, but FEMA is not one
of them, Social Security Admin is one that comes to mind.

I wouldn't go messing with those trailers if I were you. Seriously folks, I've seen what's inside those things and it's ... not pretty...

Agreed, the ESN # makes me wonder if that is a cellular based
security system for the trailer if it is opened without a RFID
nearby to give access.

A lot of loads around the country have satellite or cell tracking
systems on them like Lo-Jack.

I never had any intent of screwing with the trailer.

I am content to keep track of it and see what comes of it over time.

Though some of the other events going on in the US have me
ocassionally reaching for my bugout bag and looking to the
hills and woods away from the city.

It is not time yet, but I think I hear the fat lady warming up.

FEMA Trailers To Be Used As 'Tornado Bait'

If its a walmart parking lot i know why they parked it there.

Every walmart i have been to has security cameras every where.

It also my be the feds using one of FEMAs trailers as bait for thieves.

Here in Calif the CHP leaves semi trailers with GPS trackers on them just to catch the organized groups stealing cargo.

I followed the link and one of the guys commenting on the photo said some have turned up in CT ( Connecticut ? ) Anyone from CT see any FEMA trailers?

Not sure if this is accurent information but I tried searching for FEMA trailers at walmarts via google and found that most of the hurricane victums live in these trailers? and they have been parking them in various areas to live in.

maybe someone on the board can clerify this for me.

I think you are referring to travel trailers.

This is is a semi-trailer for hauling cargo.

(A tornado last week, bad floods friday, snow on sunday. Near 70 and sunny here today. Typical southern weather, lol.)

On topic as to the FEMA trailer, I cast my vote with those on here saying its much ado about nothing. FEMA IS still used for emergency managment related to weather, after all.

FEMA does have trailers. They have to park them somewhere.

Unless I see a lot more of these cropping up all over the place, it means absolutely nothing imo.

As far as "knowing" what is inside of "these" trailers, that's wild guesswork. You have NO idea what is in THIS trailer.

My company works with FEMA all the time in recovery and construction efforts. There are plenty of FEMA vehicles about. It's not a big deal.

the only way a load is placarded is if it is hazardous materials....And it's on all 4 sides.

but what surprises me is that it doesn't have "Building America" on it like the train i saw in down town Kansas City.

An interesting note....i also saw a CHTT train (brand new chemical tankers) in Utah that had "Building America" on them.

Probably an oversight after the big AOL cleanup.
Or...Perhaps ATF equipment they moved out of the Murrah building before April 19, 1995.

Peace.

Disaster Preparation = Possible
Strategic/Free Parking = Possible
$5.00 padlock = Contents of little or no value (empty)

FYI: If it is a "Wal-mart" parking lot, camera array is usually controlled by 2 / 8 channel DVR @ 15sec. interval and they probably have the "best" security...
If it is any other corp. mall...

A little mud and your license plate is illegible =Free
Borrow a pair of bolt cutters = Free
15 to 30 seconds on scene and need for knowledge is fulfilled = Priceless

Well you know how the only time a cop is around is when you DON'T need one?

I dunno seems like a dumb risk just to satisfy curiosity. I can hear it now, telling the cop "some people on the internet talked me into it I didn't really want to do this, and I wasn't trying to steal nothin'"

If nothing else of merit is gleaned from this thread, at least it has managed to demonstrate that while advocating illegal recreational drug use on the ATS boards will get you a posting ban, encouraging breaking and entering and offering advice on how to best perform that violation of the law is still perfectly acceptable here!

Maybe it is a trucker that found that the cops do not ticket truck trailers with FEMA stickers on them.

This would be a good way for a trucker to be able park his trailer any place for as long as they wanted without a hassle or ticket from the cops.

Ha ha ha , 50 inch T.V's . That could work ! ,

but yes , i do agree with you on the part that they could be X-FEMA trailers.. and used for storage. I have never thought about that.

Thanks for enlightening me.

I posted a 2nd pic about 3/4's thru the thread of the back door and
the tag, the tag has Dept. of Homeland Security on it and the number
on the top of the door matches the Tag #.

So I'd say it is the real deal, but as of now it is more of an out
of the normal concern than an obvious threat.

The only thing I am seeing that might be connecting the dots is
that these are showing up in other states and as far as I can
tell it is only states that are redeclaring their 10th amendment rights.

If anyone sees one in a parking lot that is not a FEMA office and
it is not in one of the states redeclaring 10th amendment rights
let us know.

Thanks !
