I do believe we need to bring back the gold standard, stop giving money away, not only to "Americans," but to the World.
Charities will still take care of those too poor to work, or sick, or old and alone, and those who can sit home get preggers and have babies will no
longer be paid to do that.
Families will take care of families. Did we have all these "old folks homes" when I was 10? I don't think so.
Immigrants will have sponsors, learn English, and get a job.
No one gets Social Security until they have "paid" enough into it.
Bring back the draft. It will do us good, and make men and women out of are kids. It will also teach them responsibility and purpose (which we as
parents have somehow sadly lacked doing).
McDonald's and Burger King will hire people that speak and understand English, and won't have to point at pictures
In the Capitol of the US, Washington, DC, you won't feel like a foreigner.
You should know your neighbors, and not be afraid to open the door of your secure condo.
Think about it. According to the media (and no, I don't trust them as far as I can throw my tv set) if you were born in 1952, and turned 6 in 1958,
the price of 1st class US postage is raised to 4¢ from 3¢ where it had been for 26 years (it will go to $ .44 this year), there were 492 TV
stations (now over 1200), NASA was created, in the worst recession since World War II, nearly 5.5 million people are out of work (today over 11.1
million Americans are out of work, jobless rate is over 7%, there is a 55.9% business failure (about 90% from '92 to 2000, and, nowan over $10
trillion national debt, go to: www.brillig.com...
Can everything be solved by going back to the gold standard? No. As Americans you have to stay on your Congresmen, Senators and Reps, to change what
is wrong. This is not a party issue. it is a right issue. And, we as a Nation have to start somewhere.
Be afraid, very afraid...
