I wonder how you are going to do with that whole survival of the fittest thing you mentioned there? So, is the issue as you see it the illegals or the dirt? I think that the Governor and his "Crew" have been fiscally irresponsible along with the Governor before this one. These people want amnesty for all of the illegals. California allows people to build houses in almost any location to increase revenue; Then comes a fire or quake or mud slide and so when does California assume responcability?

So I take my kid to the emergency room to get some stitches in his chin...we wait 7 hours, but they were quick to get my insurance in the first 30 mins since I was one of the few there with insurance. Sitting around us was about 90% Mexicans who didn't speak English, and at some point I assumed most were the illegal kind, if not that then Mexicans in general are very carless then. Well since the Emergency Room has priorities on who is worst off, my sons stitches continued to be put to the back of the line.

So who pays this cost? Look in the schools in California and see how many illegal kids are riding a free education, well free to them. All of this also takes away from Americans in need.

I'm curious. Are you aware that in the United States the States operate independently? California could go belly up and not have any impact on most other States.

For instance we had 3.5% growth up here last year and a stable housing market with normal unemployment numbers for this season. We have no income tax and yet we are rock solid. Perhaps people should rethink their leadership, eh?

Interesting that so many of the residents of States that are failing laughed at our leadership.

For those who say "California Deserves this" then you might as well kiss your "food supply" goodbye, we provide more food for our country than almost all of the other states combined....

And the funny part is that 80% of the people living in california have moved from some other state, so to those who hate on California stop claiming "their way of life is the wrong way" because we have the largest mix of people from all different states and countries, don't be hypocritical this whole mess started else where and California is naturally one of the "early" casualties simply because of our extremely large stake in the worlds and our own countries economy.

Sure, if ANY other state were to go under except for New York or California, that states failure would probably do nothing to the surrounding states. But when California or New York goes under(just one of them) and the entire country will feel the pain, virtually guaranteed.

But if ya ask me, we have what, like 92% of the people in this country still working? give or take we lose another 10%, we still have 80% or so working, that seems like more than enough people still living their lives, sucks for the other 20% of course(and for that I'm sorry but I'm no savior nor is anyone else here probably). and when # goes that bad, either drastic solutions are devised and implemented(whether its legit solutions to provide work for anyone who can't get work etc, or whether its the "fema death camp" theory that everyone throws around), either way something will be done.

All i know is that no one should expect things to be pretty in the 'world' scene for a lot of people in the coming years

Somewhere in this 17 pages that I regretably haven't read is probably how best to raise revenue in California. An obvious part of the solution is TAX INCREASE! and they take, and take and just keep taking, and of cousre my favorite is get those boys in blue to start collecting those special taxes. Traffic fines, TICKETS, TICKETS and more TICKETS!

It is so disappointing to me how law enforcement has become a primary source of local tax revenue. Just start dressing them in cheap suits and give them all briefcases imho. Thats why at a school shooting with shots ringing out and students screaming they all stand around like a bunch of scared dogs.

What has happened to this country I call home? I hope the powers that be fully understand the sleeping dragon they are stirring. It's gonna be one Helluva wake up, coming soon to a town near you.

After reading this thread from start to finish...I am embarrassed to be an American. Such disgusting, selfish, self-centered garbage. A few make sense, a few are shills, but there is more ignorance in these pages than I can believe.
I am done with this place.

This problem in Calif has been the best thing for me in years.

I am on disability (part service connected and part veterans disability pension)

I have been able to buy things that i would never have been able to afford at yard sales held by people that are out of work or leaving the state.

I am now waiting for the checks to stop so i can clean out the state workers and the other people that get state checks when they have to hold yard sales to eat.

I am getting items at $0.10 to $0.20 on the dollar of the original price.

When i became disabled i owed no money and i have not used credit since and the house i live in is payed for so all i have is utilities and food to buy.

I friend works at a wreaking yard and they have about 6 motorhomes that were abandoned at foreclosed homes that they towed and they are selling them for $500 to $800 each. just to pay the towing and storage charge.

These wreaking yards don't want to dismantle them because of the high dump fee to dump the framework at a landfill, So they are selling them cheap.

I have got a lot of tools for almost nothing.
today i go a brand new black & decker 12Volt cordless drill with 2 batteries and charger for $14 dollars from a guy the was selling his tolls to pay rent.

I got a almost brand new computer for $15 dollars last week.

I wish i had the money to open a pawn shop where i live i would make a lot of money in the next two years just taking the best items in pawn.
since the next nearest pawn shop is 8 miles away i could just take the top of the line pawns and leave the junk for them to sell at yard sales.

That's the problem, their focus is not spending less, but taking more from taxpayers that don't have it. When someone takes whatever amount of money they want from your paycheck, that's called THEFT. When someone takes money from you for breaking arbitrary road rules, that's called Highway ROBBERY.

They need to spend less. We have too many people and too many programs to support them. I've been crowded out of my home city more than once. California is the first place immigrants come to and their care costs years of revenue when they've been here months.

Hmm, well if they only spoke Mexican (which is different than Spanish) just ask my wife... and their appearance is exactly that of the indigenous people of Mexico, I would bet that they were from Mexico.

I'm sorry that I would put the wellfare of an American over that of an illegal alien, and I'm not talking about my son either. The fact that more serious injuries have the priority is the way it should be, but the fact that they should not even be in this country has created a big burdin on the American tax payers.

With 3 million illegals in California and 700,000 illegals in prisons around the country, how much taxes are going towards this problem? I would say enough to push California into bankruptcy.

I'm guessing it's just a ploy to get emergency relief funds for the state, no more, no less. But if it's truly legit, the people will tear the state apart! All those welfare recipients will now have to go out and find jobs.. OMG!

Well, buckaroo.....you're seriously misinformed.

Let me enlighten you....'tho I don't think you'll give any due consideration to anything anyone says that doesn't fall within your narrow guestimation of what is or isn't truth.

For over a decade I've travelled across the nation working as a travel RN...majority of my assignments in California and Texas. The closer to our southern border the worse our health care system is. Many, many hospitals are shutting down the closer they are in relation to the border with Mexico...And the more dire the circumstances. You see, illegals can't afford a "primary care physician" so, guess what---they head to the Emergency Dept of the nearest hospital for a fever, sniffles, coughs---"routine" $hit. A trip to the doc is roughly $60+....A trip to the ER is $327+....without the cost of prescriptions or shots thrown in.

Hospitals ARE shutting down b/c funding has run out. Illegals have tapped us out. There's no money for anyone now.

Hispanics earning a living ARE NOT to blame for this....but illegal IMMIGRANTS are.

Oh, another thing I'd like to remind you of....anyone is capable of racism and bigotry.

I spent 6 months of last year working in Harlingen,TX (which is appx.92+ Hispanic) doing home health care. I've NEVER seen more race discrimination in all my life....even compared to the blacks of Alabama.

The illegals and those on the public dole are the worst offenders. Question: how would you react to being called a pu$$y whore by an elderly (female) client whose wounds you were laboring over, cleansing and bandaging, in 90% humidity in un air conditioned, filthy shack? And NO, she wasn't in pain. That's only ONE of the many stories I could tell you.

You know what, I wouldn't be a nurse if I didn't care about people of any color.

Another thought here. I've worked on several Native American Reservations and consider their plight to be worse than that of illegals. Illegals CHOOSE to come here knowing they're breaking our law. They know they're due to suffer some form of resentment and discrimination....yet they come anyways. The Navajo, the Hopi, Apache, etc. have been here for a long, long, time and suffer persecution and humiliation on the rez.----but they NEVER b^tch and complain like an illegal does!

You want people of all stripe to be cared for they way they should be?....take your complaints to the government. They're at fault for not acting in a fashion that enables all people to receive FAIR and equitable health treatment.

Illegals should be given emergency care AND then sent home, at taxpayer expense if necessary. They are officially Mexican Nationals and should be treated respectfully and returned HOME to be cared for by their own government.
