In the main no matter if someone was a McCain supporter or an Obama supporter as I talked to them before the election they generally could only converse in the days latest "news" (sic) from the general media available on TV or paper.

In these conversations I was distressed by the the fact that most operated on a basis of amnesia for events much past one or two weeks and instead relied upon campaign soundbite like sayings to support their opinions.

Sure there were exceptions but much more rare than past times.

For me it was a 1984ish experience throughout this political season.

As for my own belief, see my signature.

Yes, Obama won it like two men in a road race and near the finish line one falls down and skins his knee and so since no other worthy runner is available, the other wins by default.

As for seccesionist views, I believe the Constitution and it says that when the government has shown itself to be against the people that employ it, it is their right to abolish it and institute another form that will. If any state sees it that way, and the people of that state support seccesion, so do I. But it hasn't come to civil war, yet. Obama still has to rule. Then the people will reconsider if they will comply or defy. I already reject him as president. But he is there for at least four years to enjoy if you supported him.

LOl reject him as president and he's not even sworn in yet.

What a sore loser. And you need to quote the Constitution directly to where it says that about succeeding. The last time I looked it was illegal to try to succeed from the U.S. after the civil war.

That is a matter of interpretation. It was made illegal after a bloody war, yet those who know the original meaning understand what the right of a free people is, and government may be abolished for just cause. I'll stick with the original meaning. That is why I said civil war, yet, because those who say it is illegal will try to stop seccesion when it comes, and the others will fight to make it a reality.

And I'm not a sore loser, I am a realist and see Obama as the doom of the nation. I reject him as any type of leader. I didn't vote for him and won't sign on to anything he does. He's just taking up office space for the time being. I'll patiently wait for 2010, and 2012.

So the most educated people in our country overwhelmingly voted for Obama.

Oh please! People in the education system ALWAYS vote liberal. Mostly because they are in their idealistic ivory towers. Elementary and secondary education teachers are in the ultra liberal AEA and university teachers are usually union. Union = liberal. My spouse has been a part of one of those 3 systems for over 40 years.

Her estimate is that 19 out of 20 of teachers at all levels are libs, often radical libs! (So they are to be trusted with our best and brightest!). The only place she encountered conservatives was when she was a prof in the university Economics department. Economics profs are mostly conservative simply because in Economics you learn that liberalism doesn't work. Artificial incentives fail, price supports fail, minimum wage is a failed concept, payments to the unemployed keep people from working or looking for work and on and on.

Only occasionally do you find someone in the educational system that is conservative and they are ones that have a spouse or relative with a business and they see how liberalism only harms business. Teachers are idealists and idealists are liberals who think that the government can solve your problems.

Everyone I ever met in the education system would vote for Satan if he was a democrat! Did they vote for Obama, that's a given! It says nothing about how politically astute they are or if they understand political issues.

No it isn't matter of interpretation. Once it's a part of the Constitution it's law until it's amended again. It seems you're talking about a quote that is often attributed to Thomas Jefferson. Since he obviously died before the civil war we don't have his opinion of revolution after that ordeal. And funny thing is that the founding fathers even knew that the Constitution would be amended throughout time as time progresses and expected it to change and were for amending it as time progresses. Sorry but you're just coming off as a sore loser. So unless you're now Miss Cleo you know # about what's going to happen with the country. Obama hasn't even been sworn in yet. Good God. And this is all coming from a communist so take that for what it's worth. You're just being a part of the problem and not the solution. You've yet to offer your own solutions except for killing. Hardly a solution wouldn't you say? I think the Iraqi people would agree...

Unless you have hard core data to prove your claim that people in education vote liberal than that's just your opinion and nothing more than that. And the last time I checked Obama isn't a liberal but quite moderate at least in his policies and decisions he makes. So you think every person who is in a union is automatically liberal? Funny how you didn't provide any type of facts with that either. So again it means just as much as anyone else's opinions here.

And conservative politics works? Look at the last eight years. How's that been for most people in the country? Look at where we are now and what's going on with economics here. Get real. Neither is a solution. The only true solution is to get rid of capitalism period. Just ask people in Latin America.

Do you know what tyranny is hon? It seems like you don't. There's still a Constitution, Supreme Court, House and Senate and of course the state's have all of these as well. Get real. And the last time I checked there were more democratic members of the House, Senate and more democratic governors. And if you're a secessionist than you hate the country and that's pathetic and quite sad. What did conservatives used to say under George Bush? Love it or leave it?

Dittos for Harry Reid in the Senate! You don't think they will try to socialize our country? Turn our courts into a bastion of radical liberalism? Grab guns, ban ammunition, loose all we have gained in Afganistan and Iraque, and open our borders to terrorists? Or how about raise taxes, tarrifs, tax retirement accounts, raise capital gains, corporate taxes and thereby stifle any economic recovery? Permit me to doubt!

LOL Obama is NOT a socialist of any type and this is coming from a communist. He's a moderate. A lot of his policies are similar to the Clinton's.

wow. that's pretty much all i have to say. yes, the majority of "average" american voters don't know that much about politics, but they DO get to hear what the candidates say. sometimes i think people forget, no matter what they think. when you vote, you vote for a person (whether you want to admit it or not), and besides the president is just a face, not a policy. oh, and you guys can stop all that sugar coating crap. we know the majority of the people who are upset about this election are only mad for one reason. so, quit lying. nuff said

Castro would embrace a fellow communist and you could live in social bliss for a few years. I never said all Obama voters were uneducated. But the percentage that won the election for him were, to a very large part. I'm sure I could recreate the very same results as the videos today, because most Obama voters don't know the issues at all.

The people that truly understand the issues voted against Obama. That's why they lost. There are too few people in the US who are truly "educated".
