First of all, haven't you been paying any attention, just listening to the controlled press? OF COURSE we found WMDs. We sold them to Hussein! And he was killing alot of Kurds.
Second, the main indicators for the economy HAVE been strong, but we are changed now from the manufacturer for the world, post WWII, to now we invent, manage, create, THINK! The trade deficit? What you don't hear is that America takes in 10x the amount of money that it spends. We just are not selling goods anymore. It's thought stuff. More lucrative. That does not help those of us who are not college material, or can't do college for any other reason. We almost have to go to a third world country to make a living now. I'm considering South America.
You are dead right about no difference between the Communist Democrats, and the Socialist Republicans. They say different, they do the same. Proof is in the 'pudding'.
And it is NOT a government takeover. That is already fait acompli. (Did I say that right?) 'A leader takes people where they want to go, a great leader takes people where they don't want to go, but should'. We have NO candidates who are opposing the AMA socery corruption, NONE who oppose the banks for COUNTERFEITING ALL the money they loan, NONE who are opposing 'law enforcement' for their obvious 'above the law' actions, NONE who are opposing public educations terrible massacre of the minds of our children, NONE who will try to do the right thing, and would probably not survive...Even Paulin, the 'Christian'. We're all DUMB! We keep voting these losers into office. When are we going to learn? I tell you what, the only way I'm voting is if I get to write RON PAUL on the ballot, because this will be my first year voting. I'm 26, so I've had my chances. I just could never get myself to do it. I mean once again, I just don't want voting Hitler or the Anti-Christ into office to be one of my life regrets. Ron Paul actually challenged the Federal Reserve System, saying it needs to be dismantled. I didn't hear Obama or McCain mention anything about it. Ron Paul is the one we're going to miss during America's global meltdown. And you know, once again, ever since this thread was started, I've been telling myself our days of security and comfort are very numbered.

The problem I have with everything that you mentioned is that we are a democracy, and they should consult the people on SOME things. Bush took us to ALLL the places we didn't want to go, and I would never in a million years call him a great president. Not even close IMO. You made a lot of good points though.

One of the biggest problems we have is that everything is black and white. There are no more shades of gray in the US anymore. Its either Democrat or Republican. Its hard to vote third party now a days. Look at it from my view for a second. I wanted Ron Paul (of course) because he shared a lot of the same views that I have. He was ran off. The media didn't cover him at all, and now he is not on the ticket. So now there is the two major party candidates and all of the third parties. Obviously the third party runners are going to get the boot because they fall under the shade of gray and people are to close minded to vote based on views. So, now I am left with two people that I do not share a lot of views with at all and the third party. If I vote third party, I run the risk of the person I disagree with the most winning. If I vote the opposing party for the one I don't like the most, I am going against my views and selling out.. Its a giant scam. You have no choice in the end. Even if the votes were counted the way they should, you are still getting backed into a corner when you step into the booth.

Whats also funny is now that Ron Paul is not on the ticket in almost all of the states, he is getting MORE media coverage..

I hate to keep trying to explain this, but the Presidential Ballot is different in every State. Write-Ins have to be authorized/qualified to even be a write in in my state, so writing in anything else is as good as not casting a vote.

There is only one 3rd party Candidate that seems to be on every ballot (or more than any other candidate) without being a write-in. It's Barr.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong on that

So I honestly think that if everyone not voting for one of the two major parties does not use some solidarity here and all vote for the one person evryone can vote for, it's a waste of time.

Just my opinion, but I will bet you that when this is over if we tally up the votes that were cast against both Obama & McCain, and if they had all been cast as a solid block, and they would have thrown them all out, it's going to be the most painful moment of my life, that people wrote in Ron Paul, or None of the Above, or Mickey Mouse.

I voted by absentee ballot for FL and for third party if I remember correctly there was Barr McKinney, Maybe Nader, and one other person.. Then of course the write in option.

I don't think that would work simply because there are to many people in the US that love to shop waaayyy more then they care about the point in the message. I have people in my family that are addicted to shopping and I know they would not comply with that for a second. It makes me sick, but its the truth. Its a good idea though if people weren't so frivolous with their spending.

Hey, I'm glad he said it wasn't a takeover, maybe he is listening to us.

This concerns me, though, makes me think that the crisis hasn't even begun to trickle down to mainstreet. He sounds extremely worried and stressed.

I read that there are ships lined up for miles off of China because they don't have any exports to ship. Either no one's buying or their money isn't worth enough to take. In addition, since money isn't moving the businesses don't have the short term credit to buy.

That tells me that our store shelves may be empty soon. We are so very reliant on imports and trade now. If our money isn't worth enough to buy from foreign countries, we are in trouble. Big trouble!

Sounds like our government is terrifed, helpless and unsure about how bad this is going to get.

I remember the ones that I mentioned, but your probably right. I know there was the 2 obvious ones, then the green party, independent, constitution party.. I can't remember the rest. It was a list though. If you can remember some let me know, because this is going to bother me now lol

i believe we are a democratic republic!
if you do not vote any 1st or second party only third party or more than the election would have to go third party or more else rigged right
even if it cancels some votes they might not get in (1st and second party)
but how else then do we vote them out?

I don't think the powers that be would ever allow that to go down to be honest. Can you imagine the Gov. letting Ron Paul win the election?? They know they would be in so much hot water it wouldn't even be funny. They would lose way to much money. I wish it was as simple as just voting them out, but history shows that it just don't work that way. Which is why I say that Democracy is an illusion.

Gotta agree with KaginD on this. They tried it with gas blackouts, but if you don't buy it today, you need it tomorrow. you only end up hurting the people who work there.

I am doing my own little hit em in their wallets protest though - ahahahaha!

I take their prepaid envelopes for solicitations from the major parties and first I stick in there a copy of the fax that went to all of them saying if you vote yes on this bailout I vote you out. I write across the top, you failed. I even put my preprinted card in there so they know who sent it (and every ounce counts on their dime) . Then I nicely fold a thick wad of toilet paper that has "You Get what You Give" on it. So not only do I not give this year, but I cost them for asking.

I just read on another thread that the gov. officials from the EU and the US are meeting this weekend to discuss a world currency.. And the source was from yahoo.. something really fishy is going on here IMO.

The EU is ticked off and they are demanding a summit with Bush to propose just that. That came right from Sarkos mouth, He also said that the EU needs a long term president structure and that the six month rule is about useless.

If most Americans had heard what Sarko said then they would be flipping out right now giving the circumstances. To call for something like that in public is pretty brazen. I bet militias all over the world are gearing up to counter this threat, Hopefully anyway.
