If you never have 2 hrs of free time, here's an idea...

Keep a pad and paper beside your PC monitor, there are little numbers on the bottom of the video. When you need to stop the vid, jot down where you are time-wise with the video, then when you come back to it a day or two later, slide the little triangle to that point in time you left off.

I'm not doing your homework for you, I watched the video, if you want to watch it, please do.

Actually if you read and understand the Bible, no, it does not.

Admittedly some individuals have taken what is said WAY out of context and claim it does, but it doesn't.

Is providing a synopsis of key points all that much to ask also?

Just a small point about oaths. The Bible regularly instructs people to swear oaths:

Deuteronomy 6:13
Deuteronomy 10:20
Exodus 22:10-11

There's one in Isaiah too, but I can't find it at the moment.

It was an important part of Jewish culture.

Jesus' whole point was that it would be better never to swear an oath at all than to use it like the Jewish leaders were: to sin.

Context, people.

Unfortunately, literalists love taking one verse and presenting it as doctrine.

Again, if you read AND UNDERSTAND the Bible...don't just take what some slick-haired Bible-thumping preacher yells at you from the pulpit, oaths are justified in both the Hebrew Scriptures (“Old Testament” if you prefer) as well as in the New Testament. They are, under the proper conditions, acts of virtue paid to our God. The faithful from the beginning of time have used oaths and throughout the history of the Church their properness has been affirmed by doctrinal decrees and canonical legislation.

When Christ said not to swear at all (Matthew 5:34) he meant for us to be so truthful in our words that our fellow creatures could believe us without the NEED of an oath. He didn’t forbid their use under proper circumstances. For example Jeremiah 4:2 where we are cautioned to consider the necessity or use of an oath and not be guilty of irreverence toward God by invoking His aid in trivial matters.

Swearing without sufficient reason is what he cautioned us not to do. To make a promissory oath, one must be certain he MEANS what he says. Swearing falsely is a mortal sin---for it is calling upon God to witness a lie.

It is not a sin to take an oath. And that's not from ignorance. It's from understanding.

If you're going to result to insults and name-calling, though, well, never mind. I don't suppose you'd understand, nor care.

I took an oath when I was called for jury duty.

I also took one when I got married.

I took another one when I stated I would protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
