I hope they start beating the reporters who have been spreading all the lies. If the public gets lied to for a while they begin to revolt.

Isn't the Recreation of 68. The time where people had protested for their civil rights to keep our country's constitution. In the past there was some problems with that. Today there is more problems with this protest it seems.

I'm torn between going downtown to watch everything, or staying well away from downtown until it's over. Did notice more guards on the trains, so security perked up over the weekend.

You guys do realize these kids are part of Rush Limbaughs "Operation Chaos" that he's been promoting for the last 2 months, right? You guys do realize they are Republicans posing as Democrats to cause trouble, right?

Liberals protesting against liberals....it's going to be a great week.

It's going to get bad folks! In an election year where Democrats should be heavily favored...they are not, and the reason these whackos are protesting is because they feel their party is not liberal enough. The best they get to represent them is little Barry Obama? They see the writing on the wall and they are very upset.

The protests will overshadow the convention! The silent majority will be watching....they won't like what they will see.

Can you say....McCain in a landslide?

Oh yes, some nut jobs are trying to create havoc in the streets of Denver for no good reason..Let's just call them liberals and leave it at that..We need no proof as to who these people really are...But hey..It's all good, they have to be liberals right? I mean look at them!

Listen man, I'm as liberal as it gets and I would NEVER do something this stupid. Most of my liberal friends and family would never engage in this sort of juvenile behavior.

If this movement would become a success,
What will the President do when the crowd get too large around the nation?

Declare Martial Law...

Ha Ha hA

Think of the world like a chess game. This is what hippies fail to do...

The group who is getting aggressive and flipping people off have been put there by our Government. It is a false flag protest meant to get the round-up going against 9/11 truthers and others against the New World Order Zionist Club.

They needed an instigator - they knew the cop dressed up as the fake protestor wouldn't work. Now they have a whole group of them bought and paid for to start the trouble.

They have no message - their message is fake Anarchy to set up a round up and temporary martial law in Denver!

They will round up all Dissenters, Protestors and Truthers

They have planned this since last year!

By all means, go. It would be great to hear from someone there to witness what is going on.

I think what will happen is there will be an intermittent report now and then on the perceived crazies but probably no reporting about what they protesting about.

I'm all for the protest and dead set against any violence or nonsense. What is needed for people to get heard is intelligent debate and well spoken representatives of the various causes. I don't need to agree with them but I think the public has the right to demand they get their message out in a peaceful manner.

I think the big show from these guys will come when the convention is in full swing and the delegates and candidates are there.

Every person who is hurt, every bit of property that is damaged is a nail in the coffin of their causes. All of the attention gets focused on the insanity and no attention gets paid to the cause.

Interesting? More info? How is it organized between Limbaugh and these folks. Somehow Anarchists, Maoists and Limbaugh don't fit in the same story together. Wouldn't his followers be hard core Conservatives?

I think the chance they will scrape up more than the thousand people they have is pretty remote. This group is apparently Denver born so that thousand represents everyone they could round up in the large population of that area.

I'm firmly against violent protest. But I think the question should be why did they choose to show this particular group? Most likely because it will give the impression that the majority of those protesting are just like these people and so therefore there will be no significant outrage when they start throwing people in the detention centers.

Of course they wouldn't show a group that was simply marching, kindly talked to the reporter and explained their cause, and went on their way. If they showed that then they wouldn't have a justifiable excuse for when they start herding these people like cattle.

Instead, when one talks about the travesty of hundred and maybe thousands being arrested, they'll say, "Yeah, I saw them on the news. They deserved to be put in those cages, they were incredibly unruly."

I think because they were the most colorful and interesting.

I'm searching around the channels now and I have to give credit where credit is due. Protests are peaceful and organized today. That is a good sign

Yes, in fact if you go to youtube you can find a few videos of Recreate 68 protests at this years DNC convention that are very peaceful and without incident.

Although, I do recall that you may have pointed out what you originally saw was actually an anarchists group. Either way, I'm glad that you've seen that there are peaceful protests going on. I, like you, cannot in any way condone violent protest because of the exact reason this thread was even started. It gives other protesters who are will within their rights to be doing what they are doing as unruly and threatening.

Like I said, and especially since what you saw was on Fox News (correct me if I'm wrong), it's most likely that they focused on this one group to portray the protesters at the convention as being out of hand so no one will speak up against throwing the protesters who are actually being peaceful in their makeshift jail.

During the 1984 Republican convention in Dallas there were a lot of people that showed up to protest. They were about as weird looking bunch as I've ever seen, looking more like punk rockers than hippies. There was one that was sitting smoking a joint on the steps of city hall telling people that he was going to burn a flag. In a short time a bunch of these characters appeared on the scene, followed by a news crew. He said to one of the onlookers "Now watch this", and pulled out the flag and burned it. A number of people were arrested with out any head busting, the news crews left and it was over. At about four A.M. the morning after the convention ended, the streets around the city jail were filled with high dollar motor homes. The streets were filled with these characters that had been released from jail. They were loading on to these motor homes that already were loaded with more of the same sort of people. With all of this going on I noticed that there were no police present on the streets. I noticed when they were leaving that all of these vehicles had California license plates. Right then it dawned on me that these guys were actors straight from central casting. The flag burning incident, became the platform for George H.W. Bushes presidential campaign. Things involving politicians and protesters might not always be what they appear to be.

Thank you for remind us all that once again, it is only republicans who suck and no matter what happens, it's always their fault.

Seriously, unless they are protesting the republican convention.. you aren't going to see any "air time" about protests. The MSM does not want thier darling being underminded by any controversy.

You can bet your ass there WILL be chopped youtube videos of "students" getting "beaten" at the republican convention..

you know.. the videos that do not show the start of any incident or the end.. only the cut scene where the "innocent" gets hit with something for "no reason at all"

Imagine if any (non fox) reporter got pushed at the republican convention how you'd all be screaming your heads off.. eh?

To equate these Socialist/anarchists with the people who where protesting in Chicago in 68 does not even come close. The folks in Chicago in 68 where Democrats that where sick and tired of LBJ controlling Viet Nam like it was his personal board game of 'Risk'!! Dalely Sr. caused the problem along with a renegade police department that was completely out of control. I was a recent high school graduate and a Democrat and went to protest the war because two of my best friends had been severly injured and wanted to do something. What I went through in Chicago in 68 was a nightmare I still have dreams of today. Along with a few scars! This convention is NOT anywhere near 68. These protestors are undermining the process for the wrong reasons. Just my 2 Cents!!

I'm embarrassed for the protesters. It doesn't seem like they could get it up with a crane. What is this country coming to. A convention without meaningful protest. Shameful. I have protested and have been chased by police for mostly just standing around and swearing.
I can remember the officer chasing me, the ground shaking. Closer and closer, then the officer dropped off. Anyway, I am disappointed with the limp d**k protesters. It's like nobody really cares.
