I agree completely. This whole phenomenon sounds like a cargo cult.

If nothing happens on October 14, then, as you pointed out, the channelers and believers will simply move on to the next "Channeled truth"... If we are ever going to make any progress in the study of the possibility of exo-planetary, we need to study it's possibility with rigor...Gullible flights of fantasy are counter productive. What will these "true believers" be saying on October 15? The ETs changed their mind? I don't mean to sound cynical, but I don't understand why so many people buy this.

To me, this is wishful thinking. We want to believe there is someone coming to rescue us from this world we have created, that there is a higher purpose to all this. I really, really hope there is too, considering all the misery and pain on this planet for a lot of people.

The date was my own date of importance since I can remember, approximately 54 years ago. (not a birthday) When this date came up, I had to respect that something important will take place. I never had a year so it is still open for debate and speculation.

If they can stop ICBM Launches, I don't believe our puny military might will be a challenge for them. Think about it! I am even debating the thoughts about whether outside information led us as humans into the technology race we are running. We can try, much like a steer.
