Violent encounter with an alien being

I am not expressing an opinion, but I note:

No-one (unless I have missed it) has posted to say that they have actually spoken to Dan on the telephone.

Would anyone care to let us know what impression they had formed of Dan after speaking to him? Were they able to speak to Sophie?
Or his Mum?

There seems to be a silence and lack of support.

Did any of the advice include sending his UFO picture to a specialist magazine to see what they made of it?


Something someone more qualified than me might care to give an opinion on:

I found a post from Dan on a thread about David Icke in which he mentions being in the ATS chatroom on Saturday. In fact he seems to have spent most of Saturday, after doing the RIP notice, at ATS.

I know myself from times when I have been grieving or very worried about something that I try to do familiar, mundane things to take my mind off the problem, or just to try and feel 'normal' again.

I can understand anyone else's need to do that after suffering severe trauma, but I've never been coherent enough in difficult times to go on to a forum or chatroom (to discuss totally unrelated topics).

It has been mentioned before about Dan going into different threads, I know.

On 8th July Dan was on another thread asking for Extralien to analyse his avatar. Somewhere in this thread, someone pulled him up on his use of it. And using the name Dan Tanna. It looks to me as if that might have upset or hurt him.

It's been a long thread, but I don't remember Dan saying he had tried to get any expert opinion on what he says happened to him. There are UFO and paranormal 'experts' all over the place and yet he came here for advice.

The above are things we DO know (anyone can check what I've listed) and it's easier to make an assessment going on his known behaviour, should people want to.

I know which way I am leaning and honestly, whether he was actually attacked by an unknown creature, suffers a sleep disorder or is guilty of making the whole thing up to get points, I feel sorry for him.

I think his situation is terribly sad, whatever it is.

I don't want to get into an argument about how hoaxers make life difficult for people with genuine experiences. I understand that entirely.

But look at what Dan's life might be like if he is a hoaxer - sad, as I said.

The OP seems to be missing any indication of PTSD, and missing the sense of being victimized by this alleged incursion into his household.

People who have had home invasions report feeling exposed and afraid and are unable to feel normal for quite a while post event.

In the dark of your bedroom some night, imagine you see a furtive shadow passing by your bedroom door, a shadow breaking the light underneath the doorway. Then as you lie there alone, imagine the door suddenly springing open and a 6 foot tall scaly creature coming into your room threateningly. After a life-threatening skirmish, the creature vanishes, leaving you covered in alien blood and wounds. What is your reaction? Do you feel empowered? Do you sit on the event for a couple days? Do you go to the doctor for an examination and maybe administration of antibiotics? Do you report it to the police?

Or do you worrry they won't believe you and just log onto a bulletin board and puff your chest and post pictures of your various knives?

Badge, fleabit, violet and garyo have made reasonable observations and raise questions that need to be addressed by Dan.

Pictures of Dan, his wife, his child and his bedroom would also be good to see. Of course with faces blacked out.

Dan has again deserted his thread. If no more information is given and no more questions are answered I am ready to join others in saying that in my opinion this is a hoax.

I really wanted to believe Dan. Without cooperation from him I cannot entertain that thought any longer.

I, for one, would even be willing to petition for amnesty if the OP would come clean and admit that this lurid tale is just the result of a bit of undigested porridge.

It would be interesting to understand the origin of the desire to take the members on a ride with claims of the paranormal, furthering the understanding of the sociology of these kinds of events.

I don't want to see anyone banned, but I would like to separate out the truth for the benefit of actual experiencers and those that have creditable recountings to share here. Don't know how to be more liberal or forgiving than this.

What you are looking for is on page 10 of this thread. It was brought up by Nola213 and Dan responded by saying:



When one looks at the biography of these comic book characters, Saint of Killers is enemies of everybody and had an unknown wife and daughter who are deceased.

A small psychological leap brings the conclusion that the OP has done what his hero could not in saving his wife and daughter.

In everyday life, one doesn't imagine a wife and daughter without having some break with reality.

For five pages after, folks keep calling about the OP coming back or not ....... he said he is not:

I don't know about anyone else, but I surely would not agree to that. Not after such elaboration, with 73 pages until he said he won't be back to the thread.

Anyway, please everyone look at Dan's thread: Western Hebrides Sighting.

This is an old thread (end of May) with photos of a flying object taken by Dan's Wife.

There is quite a lot of scepticism about the pictures. Dan asks a couple of time why he should perpetrate a hoax.

Go to page 3. Look at the photo. I'm being mysterious about this bit, but not to be annoying I promise.

That's hilarious....it's a different wedding ring, the first one, in the Hebrides post, looks way smaller, and may have a different profile. He tried the very same trick in that thread.....

It might even be a different hand...

Funny thing when I read through the first page he referrences his wife going dolphin observing. Than he makes some quick rebuttals as to the photoshop pointer, than a camera expert comes on and makes some even more startling observations where by DT suddenly shows his ring finger and shuts his involvement and responses down by the third page.

Very suspicious. I think this guy is a plant by you know who.

Both the ring and the hand look different, although I can't find this thread's ring pic to check. Besides, posting pics of rings and hands hardly proves the indentity or marital status of the OP.

It is a different ring, looks to be several sizes larger.

Here's the post with the first pic:

Second pic, oversize ring

When you match the size and orientation it's clearly a different ring, though the hand is the same.

Its the same ring i think, but its to big to be the one that make the inpress on his fingers.

I thought it was odd how he got so defensive when someone just made a throwaway line 'unless you can prove he isn't married' etc without intending to genuinely call it into question.

Reading the whole thread is interesting, it seems to have set a pattern.

Unless there are any more earlier ones. I've got a bit fed up of looking now.

While going through his posts in this thread, trying to find the ring pic, I noticed one post he mentioned it's sun-up now, gotta sleep, so can't reply for a few hours. This tends to indicate, that when not sleeping he will be on ATS, that sleep time is the only time he is removed from his computer. No mention of being busy with other activities he alleges doing, ie: the 4 hours a day of running and his fictitious family priorities ...

Huh? It's not the same ring. The diameters are different. Just draw a line from the diameter of the two and you'll see a difference of several millimeters, if not centimeters.

I carefully made the finger size to match. I don't see how it could be more clear. Obviously the second ring he posted is too large to have made the impression on the finger as shown. Why use two different diameter rings unless you're just showing a blatant disregard for the truth?

Badge1, ya beat me to it. I was going to compare the photo from western hebrides and this photo we have in fishstyx story. You will see from your photo line up comparison, the photo we see in the fishstyx story is clearly imprinted with a band as if the ring was smaller and indented the finger. The ring finger from the earlier story does not show it as a tight fit on the finger.
