Ok so we've gotten a bit lazy and self-indulgent (like the Romans) but I don't think you need to go snooping around that far back in history to
understand America's plight.
Reason #1:
Illegitimate children. Funny how that GOPUSA tries to blame the decline of America on gays, what a bunch of baloney! Heterosexual couples screwed
things up a long time ago by treating marriage like a high school dating affair.
Reason #2:
The women's movement! Yes I'm probably asking for dozens of U2Us from angry females picking me as their #1 foe. Don't get me wrong... I applaud
women who stand up for themselves. Recent history shows how women have come out from behind the shadow of men. Unfortunately when you empower
somebody it means they'll be less likey to stay in a bad relationship. Thus women feel more empowered to call off a bad situation.
Even a (well working) modern relationship has flaws. With both sexes in the workforce, neither parent is home when the kid gets out of school.
Reason #3:
Youth work ethic. Today kids are raised in a pop-culture which teachers them to be a famous athlete, actor, or musician. Everyone wants to be famous
and thinks they're entitled to as much money as they can hord, with as little work as possible.
Conclusion:
The best thing for Americans to do is get educated, find a partner who cares for you as much as you care for them, have two or less kids.

It would seem the decline in America is also falling right along the lines of what is predicted by NWO conspiracy theory.
When It's Cool to be Evil
By Henry Makow Ph.D.
As you know from my previous articles, I believe a satanic, criminal cabal rules the world controlling illegal drugs, prostitution as well as
banking, oil, defence and the media. In order to consolidate its power and weaken society, it actively promotes these destructive trends. Following a
centuries-old plan, it has subverted all social institutions: business, politics, education, and religion. (Most people don't realize that success
today depends on serving this cabal.) It started all wars. It fabricated the war on terror to advance the creation of an Orwellian
world-police-state.
We are on the cusp of a New Dark Age from which we may never emerge. How did this happen? It happened because they took God out of the universe.
"They" are members of secret Satanist societies. They are too smart to say, "Here's the devil. You'll like him better." But when they removed
God, which is essentially a belief in the reality of morality, they opened the door for evil.
They used a sleight of hand. They preyed on mankind's innate desire for justice by promising "fraternity, liberty and equality." They gave us
liberalism, socialism and communism, not to help but to control us. They gave us feminism, pornography and sexual liberation, not to free but to
enslave us. They used them all to undermine family, nation, and religion.
Without vision, a people will perish. God is vision. God is Goodness: this is how we perceive the difference between good and evil. Man is blind
without God, There IS Moral Order in the universe. Morality, (obedience to God) far from being old fashioned and boring, is extremely useful and
necessary.

Oh and how!
Now you know what I meant when I seen a certain member here post such arguments for the NWO and to rid ourselves of America. I knew it wasn't a
coincidental thing and that many of his camp feel the same way.
They just keep proving the Bible MUST be the word of God with each and every post lol.
All one has to do is read it then come to ATS and connect the dots.

Our government is now controlled by corporate lobbies and big banks. God is being systematically taken out of the culture and replaced with
materialism. I am afraid we are due to pay the piper soon.
Corporate greed, corruption, and the coming collapse of America as we know it
When the corporations run a nation, that nation has no real future, because corporations only think in terms of the next quarter, not the next
generation. Corporations will naturally do whatever they can to maximize their profits right now, including poisoning the children with vaccines,
poisoning the population with toxic food products, sacrificing the financial future of the nation for short-term gain, destroying the environment,
ignoring the health care needs of the People, inciting war so they can sell more profitable weapons to war-torn countries around the world, and so on.
Essentially, corporations will sell out the future for higher profits today, and that's exactly what they've done in America.
America has no real future. Not a good one, anyway. I give the nation anywhere from 5 to 25 years before it will self destruct under a mountain of
debt, disease and corruption. You can thank the corporations and corrupt politicians for that. They've thrown away the dream of a nation that was
once great and could actually be great again, if not for the greed.
My message to all U.S. citizens is to prepare yourself now for what's coming. Get out of debt. Get healthy. Invest in your education and learn some
practical skills like gardening, bicycle repair or natural medicine. Own some productive land and learn how to use it. Be near a source of fresh
water. When the oil runs out, and the fresh water tables are drained, and the financial system collapses, and the real estate bubble bursts, life is
going to be a whole lot harder than it is today. Forget about shopping malls, must-see TV and the latest fashions. Most families are going to be
struggling just to put food on the table.

Western society was founded on Christian ideals. As society becomes more secular in inevitably decays. Secularization is taking its toll on America
in the same way it has demoralized Europe. This point was first proposed by Nietzsche and is fleshed out by Dinesh D'Souza in his latest book.
I end this chapter with the warning I alluded to at the beginning. It's a warning that was first issued by Nietzsche. The life of the West, Nietzsche
said, is based on Christianity. The values of the West are based on Christianity. Some of these values seem to have taken a life of their own, and
this gives us the illusion that we can get rid of Christianity and keep the values. This, Nietzsche says, is an illusion. Our Western values are what
Nietzsche terms "shadows of gods." Remove the Christian foundation, and the values must go too. True, values like equal dignity and equal rights
will persist for a period out of sheer unthinking habit. But their influence will erode.
Consider the example of secular Europe. Secularization has been occurring in Europe for well over a century, and for a while it seemed as if the
decline of Christianity would have no effect on Western morality or Western social institutions. Yet if Nietzsche is right we would expect to see the
decline of Christianity also result, over time, in the decline of one of the great legacies of Christianity, the nuclear family. We would expect to
see high rates of divorce and births out of wedlock. And this is what we do see. Secular trends in America have produced the same results, which are
not as advanced in America because Christianity has not eroded as much here as it has in Europe.
As secularism continues, Nietzsche forecasts that new values radically inconsistent with the Christian ones—the restoration of infanticide, demands
for the radical redefinition of the family, the revival of eugenic theories of human superiority—will begin to emerge. These, too, are evident in
our day. And they are some of the motives for attacking Christianity and insisting that its values are outmoded and should be replaced.
Unfortunately for the critics of Christianity, even values they care about will, according to Nietzsche, eventually collapse. Consider our beliefs in
human equality and the value of human life. We may say we believe in human equality, but why do we hold this belief? It is the product of the
Christian idea of the spiritual equality of souls. We may insist we believe that all human life has dignity and value, but this too is the outgrowth
of a Christian tradition in which each person is the precious creation of God. There is no secular basis for these values, and when secular writers
defend them they always employ unrecognized Christian assumptions.

The divorce and marriage statistics also agree with Mr D'Souzas contentions about secularized Europe:
There is a trend for falling marriage rates and increased marital breakdown across Europe. This trend started in northern Europe, but has since spread
throughout western and most of southern Europe. The majority of countries are now reporting a drop in the number of marriages.
www.statistics.gov.uk...
Also the illegitimacy rates are astounding:
The proportion of children born extramaritally (outside marriage) varies widely between countries. In Europe, figures range from 3% in Cyprus to 55%
in Estonia. In Britain the rate is 42% (2004). The rate in Ireland is 31.4%, close to the European average of 31.6% .

I bet it's no accident that the Sweden is 85% Atheist with a 54% rate of illegitimacy!

In the list you provide, you are being a bit disingenious and have mixed atheists among agnostics. I take offence at this gesture since I am
agnostic, having a strong understanding of a God who is in a constant relationship with all of creation.
Take Austria from the link you provided; it states quite clearly:

It is a fine thing to me that Christians believe in God. That they also believe in the words of a fine Jewish teacher is also quite wonderful to
me.
But, please... don't roll agnostics in with atheists because that is, imho, quite wrong

Sorry but I believe agnosticism amounts to "practical atheism".
Of course my neighbors do not think of themselves as atheist. Very few of them belong to atheist organizations or subscribe to atheist literature.
Some of them who are highly educated like to think of themselves as agnostic: they haven't made up their minds because the evidence simply isn't in
yet. Others even consider themselves Christian, either because they were born that way or because they attend church occasionally. The distinguishing
characteristic of these people is that they live as if God did not exist. God makes no difference in their lives. This is "practical atheism.” We
all know people like this. Some of us hardly know anyone not like this. And sometimes we live this way ourselves.

So people were more moral and stuf in the past because more people went to church and believed in Bible morals. That makes sense to me whether you
believe in God or not - people just behaved better. Now people are self centered and think money and success are more important. And like the Greeks
and Romans politically correct liberals say we should accept homosexual marrages and crazy stuff like that. Real families are going away replaced by
corporate day cares and weird stuff like cloning and test tube babies for gays. Hahaha we are screwed.

Recently released statistics show the staggering annual taxpayer costs associated with divorce and illegitimate childbearing. Specifically, a minimum
$112 billion annual cost to citizens from high rates of divorce and unmarried childbearing. That translates into more than $1 trillion in local, state
and national costs over the past decade alone!
Marriage Breakdown Costs Taxpayers at Least $112 Billion a Year
First-Time Research Reveals Staggering Annual Taxpayer Costs for Divorce and Unwed Childbearing
WASH. D.C. In first-ever research, a new report quantifies a minimum $112 billion annual taxpayer cost from high rates of divorce and unmarried
childbearing. It identifies national, state and local costs which account for more than $1 trillion in the last decade. This landmark scholarly study,
entitled “The Taxpayer Costs of Divorce and Unwed Childbearing: First-Ever Estimates for the Nation and All 50 States,” was released on April 15th
at the National Press Club by four renowned policy and research groups—Institute for American Values, Georgia Family Council, Institute for Marriage
and Public Policy, and Families Northwest.
“This study documents for the first time, that divorce and unwed childbearing—besides being bad for children—are also costing taxpayers a ton of
money,” said David Blankenhorn, president of the Institute for American Values. “Even a small improvement in the health of marriage in America
would result in enormous savings to taxpayers,” he
continued. “For example, a 1 percent reduction in rates of family fragmentation would save taxpayers $1.1 billion.”
“These costs are due to increased taxpayer expenditures for anti-poverty, criminal justice and education programs, and through lower levels of taxes
paid by individuals whose adult productivity has been negatively affected by increased childhood poverty caused by family fragmentation,” said
principal investigator Ben Scafidi, Ph.D., economics professor at Georgia College & State University.

The 'trustee family' sounds just like what I see in the immigrant families all around me in the older neighborhood I live in. The barbarians aren't
at the gates, they moved in a long time ago. Funny thing is, the superiority of that family structure is easy to recognize, even for a Roman like
myself. I'm afraid that Americas decline is soon to become a meteoric plummet.

Yeah I agree the immigrant neighborhoods take care of their own. It keeps the crime down too. It's funny that we have to try to organize
"neighborhood watch" around here now, that was something that used to occur naturally. We've become too selfish and lazy.

Yes but the "quality" of life was probably the best the world had ever seen in ancient Rome, right before it all caved in around them. Sure as far
as secular humanist standards it might be a good life there. I won't deny that. If things like divorce, illegitimate children and abortion bother
you it's not so great. There are also those that will tell you Europe is firmly in the pockets of the Illuminati.

Well, it keeps the crime down among the immigrant families, but the outsiders, or those they are taught to despise for whatever reason, seem to be
fair game. But then, that seems to go for all of the lemming masses, not just the immigrants. Believe whatever you’re told, do whatever you’re
told. Seems to be a common denominator all over. The Stasi state continues to grow.
