Im not here for points, im sure there important to some.
Give it some time we will get great images/video.
This wasn't the first and it most certainly will not be the last near earth object.
Please understand this, it is not a joke.
We have the power and the intellect to defend against this.
We didn't always but we do now.
We have the power to stop any of these colliding with earth, we do have this power.
We have the power to disintegrate the moon without ever leaving earth.

Yes, the first radar pics we are aware of... 40-ish some meters per row. I would expect some that are a bit better but not much... it's radar. An optical pic "could" be very good. None posted as yet... and I need some zee's. It'd be cool if we could get a US citizen to write NASA and ask about the numbers dicrepancies, lack of data, web site down, "broken" links and what they intend to do in the future.

The media spins asteroid stuff up... and up big. Why not 2007TU24? It just seems odd. But I'm tired.

Well I guess this baby can be put to bed now! My daughter got me up about 2:40ish for a bottle and whaddya know, no asteroid! I hope at least someone here got a peek at it. I don't feel like going back through 20 pages of threads, so if anyone got to see it let me know It feels good not to have to worry about TU anymore. There was a NEO Asteriod that passed closed to the earth in the 90s that was composed of 10,000 TONS of Plantinum and 100,000 TONs of GOLD.
Does anyone know the composition of TU-24.

Haven't you been to tu24.org yet?? He says don't count your chickens before they're hatched. Of course, since he was just the absolute most reputable honest source out there, I am going to go with what he says and keep looking for the earthquakes and natural disasters.

Hopefully you can tell that was the most sarcastic thing I have ever typed.

I think the remarkable teamwork that was involved for making this thread what it was should be congradulated. Parties from all sides came together to inform and study all of the information presented. While the asteroid did not hit us, it was still a close call. We did what NASA refused to do. We kept a constant watch and minute by minute update to all of the people reading ths thread who could not find information anywhere else.

Remember, TU24 was only discovered in October and was suddenly upon us. What else lurks out there we do not know. It would seem that the threat remains. I am confident if it happens again, we will be up and running from the start (unlike NASA).

Also, to those who did not believe it would hit, you are needed at these times. You were able to be the "calm heads" through this. This keeps those who would panic on the straight path, I have seen this in this thread.

Lastly, keep your websites on hold for the information you provided. No doubt we will be doing this again.

Thanks to you all. I was glad to be a part of it.

One last thing. The megnetoshpere was wild last night.

It has since calmed down.

I looked on spaceweather.com and could find no factual support for this claim. The 24 hour maximum planetary K index was 2.
